My mom and i were recently in New York and on Friday the 23rd of April we had the unfortunate displeasure of dining in your restaurant. We walked in and were given a seat. we asked for tea, I politely asked in Japanese and was given a blank look by our server Erin so i asked in english for some tea. The tea comes and we are sitting there waiting and waiting Erin to come back. Finally we see her so we lift a hand which is rude to get her attention. We order some rolls and go about visiting. the food comes and it was mediocre at best. We could have said something but all the while we were there we never once saw our little server Erin. Finally she comes back from visiting with her friends and the chef or cook whatever you want to call him at the back. She takes our plates and we say we are done. She goes back to visiting. 5 minutes passed my mom was looking at her and making eye contact and well she goes right on back to visiting. So we get annoyed and go to the front counter and she is quick to come up and give us a bill now. I give her my credit card and she puts it through. Now with much reluctance i gave her a 5% tip. She looks at me like I am a idiot and says that I am wrong on the tip. I said how so, she says it is the LAW that i leave 15%. I started asking where does it say this. It was not in the menu, it is not on the wall and all through our holiday it has not been the case. Mind you we had wonderful service and wonderful food everywhere else. She was adament that we leave 15% and so on and so on. Then she clues in and says oh you are not from this country are you. So i guess being a tourist makes us idiots for not knowing the laws. I looked at her and said she is lucky to get what she got and she wont get any more and we left. Now this was our last night in New York and it left a bad taste in our minds.

Pros: nothing good about the place

Cons: stupid servers mediocer food

Fun, relaxed and welcoming - the waitress even remembered us from a previous visit and remembered what we ordered! The sushi is fantastic and they have some unusual rolls - If you like, they will make any roll wrapped in soy bean paper instead of seaweed which is a nice change. I've always had a great experience here - it's my favorite sushi in Mid-town west!

I am eating my delivery "Spicy girl sushi roll" now, and its SO below expectations for any roll over $12. I'd rather eat at Monster.
