AliveOne combines the very best of music and spirits. The front bar is fully stocked with 16 different beers on tap, including some of the best microbrews Chicago and the country have to offer. AliveOne is home to Chicago's only "all Live" jukebox, containing live recordings of Rock and Roll's best bands from the past and present. AliveOne houses an extensive collection of live concert bootlegs on CDR and Analog tape, which are displayed in cases on the walls through out the bar. From the Allman Brothers to Zappa- there is something for all music enthusiasts. The bar is decked out with photographs and memorabilia spanning five decades, and as many musical genres. The backroom has it's own fully stocked bar, independent sound system and atmosphere. The backroom is available for private parties.

Love this bar, this has been a favorite for the last few years due to the excellent dj who spins hip hop in the back room, the problem is, the room gets packed very easiliy and it can be unfortabley crowded because almost the entire room is a dance floor. The rest of the bar is a standard lincoln park , "pub" type atmosphere

When there is a good DJspinning then this place is awesome to hear hip hop and rap..but when the DJ is not so good, as has been the case lately, then it's up in the air..fun bar most of the time

The gimmick to aliveone is the jukebox only offers live albums. That simple play on words is actually effective, and the selection is pretty sweet for old rock and roll fan. The beer selection is standard-to-good, and the atmosphere is dark and smoky. Except since Jan 1 it is no longer smoky. It is loud, and there are usually some shenanigans going on in the back room...where they play hip-hop!

what a jukebox!
by filchambers
I love jukeboxes, and this one is no exception. With all manner of records, from 33rpm right up to the new fangled 78rpm...
Pros: best jukebox in town
Cons: it's a jukebox

True Soul in Lincoln Park
by BuddyHinton
One of the few bars in the area that subscribes to the true pub atmosphere--no conversation killing plasmas, only 1 tube playing live concert DVDs w/ the exception of worthwhile chicago sporting events. The jukebox is a Chicago mainstay catering to those dialed into music that matters while the back bar DJs kick out funk & old-school hip-hop that drips with soul. After seeing the photos, its not hard to imagine kings of leon (among others) partying here long before selling out the enormo-domes... A Dutch couple there on the recommendation of "Lonely Planet USA," said it was the coolest bar they'd been to in the states, granted they'd only been in detroit up to that point... Bottom line, AliveOne is a solid neighborhood pub with deep musical roots and not a flash in the Lincoln Park pan.
Pros: At times, live music in back during the week
Cons: Can get butts to nuts on busy weekend nights

2$ Pints, and a boatload of live music.
by jns597
I've been going to this bar for a number of years, and I have to say it is probably my favorite bar in Chicago to meet up with friends and grab a drink. There is always great live music playing, and on Thursdays, they usually have live bands in the back. Tuesday, however, is a real treat at this bar. All pints are 2$ with an exception to imported beer which is only 2.50. The beer on tap is phenominal, and every day is a different drink deal. J-mo shots are only somewhere between 3-4 dollars, so you can turn up the pace of drinking with some Irish car bombs. The staff are my favorite part of this bar! Everyone is really friendly and the service is amazingly fast. The overall mood in the bar is usually pretty relaxed, but can get going in the back when they have the DJ spinning. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Pros: Amazing decoration, being in this bar puts you in a good mood. Good deals, amazing staff, "chill" crowd.
Cons: None, but if you don't like hippies, you're likely to run into some there.

Great Lincoln Park Bar
by marge715
Front room is more low key-jukebox has great live shows. Back room is a little bit more upbeat with a dance floor and DJ.
Pros: Low key crowd, great music selection

Off the Chain

Dope low key bar to listen to the best hip hop of all time. The DJ on Friday nights is ridiculous and anyone who enjoys real hip hop should be there on Friday nights!
Pros: HIP HOP
Cons: small

Beers and Bands
by tridda
I love this bar. It has such a laid back atmosphere, and tons of great beers on tap. The jukebox is the best I've seen. The bartenders are quick and attentive, and they have good specials through the week. I usually meet new people everytime I go.
Pros: Lots of good beer, Great juke, Hippies
Cons: Hippies

local lincoln park
by AKLjoker
Not a club, but occasionally more than just a bar. Good atmosphere with lots of local Lincoln Parkers and not a lot of drunk suburban kids with fake IDs.
Pros: people, lighting, prices
Cons: size, lighting
