a couple of years ago I wrote a review bashing the quality of the care at Lynne's. I was recently invited to stop by, unannounced at anytime to see how the care of the horses has been upgraded. today i made an unannounced visit & was given a tour of the stable. I have to admit, I was impressed by the upgrade in care & the overall appearance of the stable The horses seemed very well cared for & the stalls & barn area were in excellent shape. The horses stalls were all very clean & well bedded with shavings. It seems that the stable has gone through a lot of positive changes and upgrades in both horse care & maintenance. I give strong props to Lynne's Riding School for making all of these great changes. I have no problem now recommending Lynne's to anyone looking to ride there or take lessons.

I have been riding here for 6 years and I love it. All the instructors have very firm understandings of riding technique and each of the instructors spends time to convey these techniques in ways that students can understand and employ. I

I've never boarded a horse there, but I can certainly understand the review given earlier by a boarder.

As an adult beginner, Lynne's lessons were a total waste of money. Her instructors have absolutely no idea what they're doing. After

Lynne's riding school is one of the worst stables I have ever been associated with in my life...
I kept my horse there for 3 years & Lynne & her attitude, personallity & ideas of horse care sucked the life & fun out of the whole experience.
If I was not there to clean my stall everyday, the stall would have been a pig sty. She never fully cleans the stalls, she will remove as little manure as she can get away with, & the urine soaked bedding is just turned over. All the stalls are a dark brown color that is indicitive of urine & manure that has never been fully removed.
bedding is never fully changed. the stalls are never disinfected or deodorized.
for years she used "recycled" bedding. (she stopped just this year after a horse she let in without proper papers caused a quarantine of the stable. if not for the objections of a boarder, it would still go on today) recycled bedding means she would gather urine soaked bedding from numerous stalls, mix it all together with a little fresh bedding, & distribute it around to all the stalls. I know this for a fact for I was designated to put my soiled bedding in a stall earmarked for the recycle.
if you notice there are no pictures of the stalls on the website as they are a disgrace.
As for the owner, she rarely kept her word on any promises she made & would do sneaky things behind my back, such as play around with the amounts for food I asked that my horse recieve
The entire time there I was constantly harrassed by her for things real & imanged. She went as far as forbidding me to talk to her staff, and even intimidated a worker out of making extra money when I asked her to feed my cats while on vacation.
If you try to tip the workers, she will take the money from them so you have to sneak it to them without her knowing, & will keep tips customers give for the "pony parties" from the helpers by saying it 's for the barn.
I have witnessed her tranquilize horses that are about to go out on the trail for rides.
I was not allowed to use a hose to bath my horse, or to cool him down in the summer. The only allowable hose was in the indoor arena, & it could not be used when lessons were on.
Boarders are forced to go to thier own house's backyards if they want to give thier horses a proper bath.
All of these statements are true & factual & I stand behind every word without hiding.

I am - or I should say, was - an adult beginner when I started with Lynne a year ago. Since then I have learned so much and really re-trained myself to ride with proper balance, coordination and control. Lynne is a talented teacher. Her barn is clean and her horses seem happy and well-kept to me. Although the ring is a little small, that is always true for New York City arenas, and you can go into Forest Park and ride the trails there. This place is happy and fun. I'm a fan!

Pros: excellent instruction, good horses, multiple riding options, clean barn

Cons: slightly small indoor arena

If you want to learn to ride correctly and safely, Lynn's is the place to be!!!! Her horses are wonderfully maintained with loving care. When my daughter expressed a desire to learn to ride, Lynn's was the ONLY place I would consider.
She is also one of the only stable that has an indoor ring. That means no cancelled lesson due to weather, and a safe environment to learn. I have been riding there since I was 12, and now my daughter and I enjoy it together! My daughter just finished a week of "horse camp" which she loved. They get to groom, ride and learn about horse care and safety from a great staff. The people who work for Lynn show the same dedication to safety and horeslore that she does.

A great, peaceful, fun experience for the whole family! When i want to de-stress from the daily grind, there is nothing like a ride in the park. It is beautiful all year around,.
