NOT a safe place to rent a boat slip and WORST customer service from management.\n\nWe had an issue with theft at the marina and incidences of poor customer service from management. \n\nNot worth leaving our boat there. We've decided to take our money elsewhere! \n

Last summer I put a 100. deposit on a boat and had to keep changing the date to use it. I never called too late for them to rent it out to someone else.(a week at least).I had to have unexspected sugury. With summer almost over, I called to ask if I need to go ahead it use it or would I loose my deposit if not. I was told that it's not a big deal to go ahead & wait for next year it would be there. I just remembered it Monday ,I thought in time for a fathers day gift for my husband & son, i called & was told they don't do that. It's impossable that could have been told to me , I tried & tried to get a owners name from both #'s listed & they WILL NOT give me any info. they are the rudest people I have talked to & WILL get to the bottom of this!!\r\n If anyone knows the names of the owners or any kind of advice I would love to let them know how their company is being ran. \r\n The ppl. I talked to don't deserve their job !! There's too many Nice ppl who'd do it right!!

I have recently started renting a slip at this marina. I have come to the conclusion that they ABSOLUTELY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. I think they have a spoiled attitude that since they have a waiting list of people beating down their doors to get into a slip (only because it is about the most convenient marina to nashville) their customer service and appreciation for their customers is NON-EXISTENT. \r\n\r\nHere are several examples as to why I say this:\r\n\r\n1) I inquired about renting a slip and left a message but nobody ever called me back. I had to keep calling until somebody woke up and decided to actually answer the phone.\r\n\r\n2) Once I started renting, there was virtually NO water pressure to take a shower until they made some changes and switched over to city water...it was great for about 3 weeks then the pressure went back down again...I left one day for work and on my way out noticed that they had installed automatic water sprinkler devices that obviously came on around the time in the morning when anybody who stayed on their boat would be taking a shower...I called but was stone walled and told that thats when they need to water the grass. I said I can't take a shower anymore ... again ... they did not care. I got NO empathy. The feel I got was 'oh, well'. \r\n\r\n3) I was talking to several other slip renters and they said that they may have to go to another marina, that elm hill had new owners and they were trying to turn this into a 'yacht' club and getting rid of the older uglier boats and raising slip fees. \r\n\r\n4) Several employees agreed and said that the new owners were AS*HOLES. Exact words. \r\n\r\n5) They had been replacing the arching bridges for each dock with flat bridges because the new owners didn't like the arching bridges....whatever....I didn't care one way or the other...but only by word of mouth did somebody on my dock tell me that was being done on my dock like in the next day or two and the water and power was going to be off and we would have to take a shuttle to the dock when they do it...I was a little upset because at least part of the time anyway I stay on my boat and no water and no power is something that is nice to know about...you know....so you can plan for it....SOOOOOOOOO....i called the marina office and asked why nobody was told.....AND THE GUY ON THE PHONE COPPED AN ATTITUDE AND SAID 'HEY, WE CAN'T GO AROUND AND TELL EVERYBODY ON EVERY SLIP THAT WE ARE GOING TO BE DOING THAT....' well, that got my hackles up because, hey it ain't rocket science here I said, 'DUDE, I aint talking about going around and telling everybody face to face....just put a sign on each dock gate/door (where you enter a keycode to get on the dock) that you are going to be doing it....that's it! Just a sign...its COMMON COURTESY FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS!!. He huffed but shut up. Do these people have an IQ of about 20?\r\n\r\nConsensus: Elm hill has new owners who are raising slip fees, adding new slips, doing landscaping, putting in watering systems for the grass ALL in an effort to improve the marina overall and probably attract new customers....well to that I say GREAT!!!!! I LIKE IT!!! \r\n\r\nThe problem is they are forgetting their customers...who is paying them...and it don't matter how shiny you make the marina to bring in new customers, once they get here the new owners and management will ruin it because their customer service is horrible. \r\n\r\nThey DO NOT care about their customers. \r\n\r\nTHAT will ruin ANY business. As they are trying to spiff it up, they are tearing down their business, one customer at a time. Word of mouth gets around....fast. \r\n\r\nI like the marina...the people...the restaurant with live music on the weekends, the landscaping...but the owners and management really need to get a clue...they are the worst thing about the marina. If it weren't for THEM, it would be a great place.

Bought new bathing suit specifically for this outing. Totally wasted as there was no boat. I wish i would have never met Elm Hill marina. Maybe you should just drive a little further to Center Hill or just pay Elm Hill to kick you in the nuts plus gas. (minus boat date)\nCake

Pros: boats float

Cons: not available

Summary:\r\n\r\nA group of 14 of us rented a pontoon boat for Saturday, July 11, 2009. We reserved the boat on or around May 11, 2009. We made the required deposit. We planned to arrive at the marina at around 9 AM on that Saturday and use the boat for 8 hours.\r\n\r\nAt 9AM on July 11, 2009, the marina called to let us know that we no longer had a boat reserved with them, because ""your boat"" broke down. \r\n\r\nWe explained to the marina that we had purchased and prepared approximately $300 worth of food and beverages for our outing. They were really unsympathetic. They offered us half off on a WEEKDAY of our choice. We explained that all 14 of us had jobs and could not just take off a WEEKDAY to come use one of the several boats that they would no doubt not have rented out for that day.\r\n\r\nI will never patronize this business again. I advise everyone to use other marinas. These people are very rude and very unprofessional. \r\n\r\nEven when we have used thier boatsin the past, they have double charged us for gas and their boats are runned down and really gross.\r\n\r\nMy advice: Tell Elm Hill to shove it and use another marina.
