5 Stars: Jolie Laide is the Best Salon in the DC Metropolitan area (by Kate M.)

I was walking down the hall a few minutes ago and a colleague sang out -- "Your hair looks great -- Are you still driving two hours to get it done?" Well, yes, as a matter of fact, I am. Because Jolie Laide is worth every minute that I spend getting there. I found Jolie Laide through Washingtonian magazine. I wanted to stop being a Loreal No. 10 Natural Blond and, in the process, shave a few years off. Washingtonian said that Jolie Laide had a first rate colorist who was worth driving 35 miles to meet. I could not agree more. For years, I colored my own hair because no colorist could get it to a color I liked. But Corey Swanson is incredibly talented. I have never had so many compliments on my hair (even from other stylists when I swing into a DC salon for a mid-week wash and blow dry). I cannot say enough good things about Jolie Laide and, especially, Corey. She took ten years off my face easily with the terrific color and cut. Right from the get-go, I knew I could trust her -- I called to ask about booking a consultation and Val put Corey right on the line. I told her that I had just gone to a party and someone had asked me if I was my 80 year old father's sister. She responded, "Well, we need to get you right in." Two nights later I walked out of that salon a brand new woman. In the process, Corey told me what she recommended (darker) and listened to what I wanted (scared not to be light blonde) and just hit a bullseye with a color process that completely answered my fears and still gave me a shade that looked a thousand times better than when I walked in the door. Making that call was a smart move on my part. I gladly make the long trek to Bristow every five weeks -- it is worth it!

5 Stars: Love, Love Love Jolie Laide Salon (by Diane T.)

I just went to see Corey at Jolie Laide and left extremely happy as always. Thank you so much Corey. I moved to VA 8 years ago and it took me a while to find the perfect hair stylist. When I found Corey I knew I had found the perfect match for me. She's always professional, listens to what I want and a lot of fun to talk with. Everyone at the salon is great. I know all the stylists and the owners and always feel comfortable and welcome when I'm there. My husband and my 3 children (ages 8, 6 and 2 years old) also go to Jolie Laide. They get their hair cut by Alyssa and love her. My family and I absolutley love the salon and will never go anywhere else. Thank you so much Jolie Laide for making us look and feel beautiful.

1 Stars: THEY TRIED...BUT FAILED (by Barb N.)

Let's just say they gave it their best shot. They missed. I had my hair colored and they gave me a color that they thought would look "great on me"...not the color I asked for. It didn't match my personality (nor my wardrobe). Additionally, I had some gray to deal with and they completely ignored it. Consequently, the hair color took differently to the gray which accentuated my roots area in a way that was NOT complimentary. I left feeling that I was just a problem they wanted out of their shop because they did not have the expertise to deal with the problem they created. I believe their is some talent in the salon, BUT CONSUMER BEWARE, you might end up paying for a color YOU didn't want.
