the best in the area
by kristen h.
Pet Goods is the best pet store in the area. cheaper then petco and petsmart, mostly always has what you want in stock if not can b ordered. very clean considering being a slightly older pet stores then all the big new ones. very good service and friendly knowlegable employees. they donate to animals and have almost everything you could possibly need for your pet. santa photo's and low cost vaccines! how much better can it get?

Pet Goods is a large store so they can carry a variety of items for your pets. I really like the selection of (low-premium priced) food. They have everything I need there and I'd rather give $ to a local business than to large chain stores like PetSmart & Petco although, I have to admit I do shop at those stores as well. I would recommend them for the huge variety of pet items to choose from. The owner is very generous to local pet charities as well and that's a good thing.

Pet goods is a great pet store for any of your pet's needs. It is a large store, always very clean, and offers a great selection. Pretty similar to what you would find in the large chain stores, but often with cheaper prices, friendlier service, and the knowledge that you are helping a local business. They have a huge selection of pet food and I've never found any of the food I buy out of stock. Lots of toys for dogs and cats, collars, leashes, clothing, gift items, and even a mini-pet bakery case. Prices are good, and even better if you catch one of their coupons in the local coupon books.

This store has stocked an amazing selection of pet food and supplies way before it was in vogue. My dogs love to go "shopping" here and we can always find items that other mainstream pet stores do not carry. The sales help is young and fun and always ready to interact with four legged customers!

Always sickly reptiles!
by Anonymous
I used to love this store but recently I have ben very disappointed in the "care" given to their reptiles. The enclosures are tiny and tend to be filthy. The floors tend to be covered in feces. The temps don't seem right for at least some of the reptiles, plus the only vegetables offered to the omnivores were old dried out shredded squash, which is not going to cut it. They don't use sand as a substrate, which is a plus, but I've seen too many malnourished, dehydrated, and generally sick looking animals.
I once saw a uromastyx that appeared dead and deflated. He was extremely underweight and his skin was papery and wrinkled. The last time I was in, there were 3 collared lizards who were in awful shape. Their ribs stuck out, their tail bones were prominent, and their skin was hanging. One never moved, he just sat in the water dish with his eyes closed.
The rest of the store is nice, but I cannot overlook the poor care given to their reptiles. Most stores give sub-par reptile care but I've never seen animals in such poor shape.
