Don't even consider buying a car here. Bill sold us a truck that had issues, told us he fixed them, put "break pads and rotors repaired" on our bill of sale, and only did the front ones and said "the back ones didn't need it. it passed inspection." Barbara (who doesn't even work there) almost let us leave with no gas in the tank, we had to request gas. We also did not get two sets of keys, only one, and had to ask for a key fob. One week after purchase, a transmission fluid line rotted out and we took it back for repair. a week after that, the axle is leaking oil and the crappy mechanics that work for him and his underling (another Bill) refused to repair it. The engine air filter looked like the filter of a cigarette after it had been smoked; completely clogged. Terrible gas mileage resulted from this, and when I called him out on all of the issues that were found by having the truck looked at by our mechanic, he said it was laughable and started picking apart my english skills because I misspelled "brakes" on my better business bureau report, yelled at me and told me to take some english language classes. This business is crap, and you get what you pay for. It is more cost effective to buy a used car and pay extra money for it from one of the bigger dealerships than to buy one at a "discounted price" because you'll end up paying that money you saved to repair the vehicle you just purchased. Make sure to always have your own mechanic look over a used car before you purchase it, because if you don't, the BS used car dealers will tell you "you didn't know? well you didn't ask. there's no lemon law on cars over 100,000 miles." which is how they get away with everything. Buyer beware. Steer clear of this dumpy dealer and go down the road to a legit one.

DONT BUY A CAR HERE!!!!!! If you have problems with an already arranged deal made with Bill he will give you the option to pay for his mistakes or beat you up or threaten to arrange to have you beaten up, then tell you to take you POS car and get off his lot!!!! My husband just went to show him all of the paint peeling off all over the car bill "had fixed" and him and 4 other men surrounded my husband saying they were going to beat him up. Our car looks 100% WORSE now than it did before Bill had the paint touched up!

Bought a vehicle from "Bill Mc" (he didn't bother to fill in his last name on my paperwork, nor that I was the owner of the vehicle) whose sparkling customer service skills really make you say "I want to support this guy and his business by buying a car here!", only to find out 2 weeks later that the transmission was total crap. The warranty had fortunately covered it and I hadn't had to pay anything-- although the transmission still slams around more often than not from time to time.
A few months later something was wrong with the back wheel making grinding sounds. I took it back to Bill and he tried to tell me that nothing was wrong with it and it was just the emergency brake (which I knew was bull). It got to the point where the vehicle was not safe to drive because the entire wheel was flopping around and was shaking it back and fourth wildly no matter how slow I drove. They took it to the shop where his mechanic looked at it and I was told it was the wheel bearing. By that time the warranty company-- who didn't spell my name anywhere close to being correct and I was shocked that it managed to actually make it through the mail since it consisted of # % and other various symbols-- had gone under and he generously covered what the company would have for this part (50%). I was only told the price and who to make the check out to and was not given a slip for my own records. During the time they had possesion of the car, I noticed several scratches and dings which hadn't been there before. So, they took it in the back of the shop and "buffed them out" and on a sunny day it is really obvious where they have done so because there are swirl marks all over the 2 x 3 ft area.
Less than 6,000 miles later, I am having the same problem with the wheel and am pretty sure they didn't even fix it in the first place. Even with the lug nuts sprayed, a breaker bar, and a 780 ft lb torque wrench, they won't budge and the "new" wheel bearing looks just as old as the vehicle is.
I guess the owner had felt like he could be totally inappropriate with me and felt like I was an easy target to proposition and I was so disgusted that I had been afraid to ever do any sort of business with this place ever again.

Bought ,01 Mazda from Frenchtown Auto with Warranty. Within 2 weeks the cluch stopped working, Imagine my suprise when the Warranty did not cover the problem. Bill M told me I could use my mechanic and he would get the parts for 'cost', however his supplier was 'unable' to get the parts. My mechanic got the parts and 'Bill said he would split the cost with me. After I had the repair completed I approached Bill, but, he seemed to forget his agreement. I will NOT BEG FOR someone to abide by their agreement. I would NEVER recoment Frenchtown to anyone who expect TRUTH nor will I EVER do business there again.

I purchased an '04 F-250 from Frenchtown Auto Sales in September. I took the truck to my mechanic who found some issues with it and Bill at Frenchtown had the problems fixed right away. When the state inspection found some other issues Bill at Frenchtown fixed those as well, and added 4 new all weather tires. I've purchased used cars from dealers before, usually ending with remorse or resentment = but not this time! Bill McDonough and his staff are fantastic, and I'm extremely happy with my truck. And they even delivered it to my driveway!

A very rare car dealership = a real class act!

I bought 3 vehicles in the last 5 years from Frenchtown and have been pleased each and every time. Billy has been nothing but helpful and honest. The prices are fair and he has stood by his word in every aspect each sale. I will be returning to Frenchtown every time that I need a used car.

Don't go anywhere else! Great customer service is what you will find at Frenchtown Auto Sales. It began with the owner, Bill McDonough's cooperative attitude, on multiple phone calls, answering numerous questions I had regarding a particular car on his lot. My son and I met with him and gave them a "wish list" of things we would like before we returned the following week to purchase the vehicle. Their customer service continued with an offer to pick me up at the train station (I live in NJ) in order for me to pick up the car the following weekend. When I arrived to pick up the car I found all of the items from my wish list had been completed and the car had been cleaned and shined. A mechanical issue in the first month (remember this is a used car) was covered under the warranty included with the purchase. Frenchtown's customer service did not end with the sale. They were very helpful answering my many questions regarding the warranty etc. When the established warranty company experienced cash flow issues and did not pay my mechanic for the work I contacted Bill to ask for assistance. He immediately contacted my vendor and resolved the issue. This was beyond my expectations. I know the time, energy and money they spent on this sale did not add to their bottom line profit. It is so rare to find a business that cares about their customer, has the integrity to stand behind their product and works to make the customer happy. If you need a used car you should speak with these guys. You will not be disappointed!

I bought a 98 Camry from Frenctown in March of 08, after i had bought it the check engine light came on and was immediately taken care of and paid for by frenchtown auto sales. I was treated very well and believe i was not lied to or mislead, i was also offered good deals and opportunities. i believe i paid a very good price for what i bought. Recently in November of 09 the Camry was totaled in an accident and i recieved over 500 dollars more than i paid for it in a setlement check. Over a year and a half later i got back more than i paid for it from Frenchtown. These are NOT your stereotypical car salesmen

Stay away! My boyfriend and I bought a truck here for $10000, only to find that the truck is worth only $6000, at best. Our own fault for not doing or home work. What's worse is, only a few months later the front right ball joint snapped. We felt releived when we rememered we had a warranty, that is, until trying to work with the warranty company. They covered only under $100 on a $1500. I cried in public for the first time. We have been working for seven months to get rid of the thing, but dealer after dealer, we have been turned away for bad equity, as we still owe $9000 on a car that is now being appraised at $4000. Never, ever buy anything from these people. If someone can sell such a lemon and still sleep at night, they are not a sales person you can put your faith in. I can only imagine what problems their other vehicles have.
