Our son has been at MCD since he was 3 months old...He is now 4. We have had a wonderful experience at the center. He is very advanced and well prepared for kindergarten even prior to entering the preschool class this year. The staff is very attentive and nurturing. He has developed strong bonds with many of his teachers. The center is VERY clean and I LOVE the secured key-code entry and the fenced in areas for the children to play. I feel very secure....Many of the staff have been with the center for a significant amount of time....our new daughter will have the same caregiver as our son had as an infant.....that is so reassuring for a parent to already know the people who will be caring for your children and being able to develop a relationship with them.As far as the other posts. It has been our experience that we receive feedback both positive and negative about my sons behavior and performance. I also looked at the DHS reports for MCD and other centers in the surrounding area. All were about the same. No glaring differences. My husband and I have been very impressed with MCD and would recommend it to anyone who needs childcare or a preschool.

Please check state of Michigan DHS licencing reports. It does state the trouble with this place. Television should not be a part of the child's day. That is for the parent to decide when they are home.

I had to write a review after laughing out loud at some of the reviews! My 2 children went there for 5 years and my sister worked there for 4 years while obtaining her Early Childhood Development degree. They are wonderfull! Clean, safe( you can not get in without punching a code) caring and loving staff. Trust me...there were lots of days I heard good and bad that my kids did. I asked my sister to read the other reviews and she laughed too. She never experienced any of that. Those people are probably disgruntled employees who were fired for not doing there jobs correctly.

We enrolled our children as infants. They have been through the preschool and summer camp programs. We could not be happier with the academic program that they offered our children. They have a wonderful and caring staff.

PARENTS: Please go with your gut instinct when choosing a daycare or staying at a daycare. If your child is in a center, drop in at random. This should be encouraged by the center and never be a 'scheduled' visit. (that is when staging occurs...)

Teachers know what goes on BEHIND the SCENES in childcare centers. With an Early Childhood degree I thought a country day school would be a perfect high quality place to settle down for a long career. I couldn't be more incorrect. I attempted to work there. After working there for several weeks with 2 and 3 year old children, I had not once met any parents. The television was a critical "tool" in the center's ability to control the children. And although children were unhappy, I was told never to give a parent a 'rough day report'. I was told to state always that the child "had a good day and send them on their way" by a director. These are only a few of the MANY reasons I felt the need to quit the center and post this review.

I enrolled my Daughter as a "tiny turtle" and she went all the way through the preschool program. She's now in Kindergarten and is thriving. Our 2nd child is now enrolled. We've had many years of experience with this facility and can't say enough about how wonderful they've been. My daughter misses them since she's gone to kindergarten. I would highly recommend this facility for your children. They really care about the kids and run an educational curriculum that brings out skills and promotes learning for all levels.

I was the lead teacher in the pre-k, or "turtles" room. I could only bare to stay two months because of the stringent demands and unrealistic structure the director expected from these small children...it broke my heart. I wanted to stay to help them enjoy thier time there a bit more and perhaps develop some of thier individual strength, creativity, etc...but I just couldn't handle it. The director would criticize me every time things weren't in perfect order...kids silent, room spotless, etc...it was honestly ridiculous. Even when the kids needed to use the restroom..we were expected to "make them wait as long as possible"...I wouldnt send my children here if they were offered a spot for free, let alone pay for what the children go through. I just couldnt be a part of that, as much as I wanted to help :'(

I have 2 Children that attend Milford Country Day, and I couldn't be more pleased. (2 year old and 6 month old)

My Daughter has been attending since the age of 6 months, and has been in the infant room, the toddler room, the tiny turtle room and she is now a turtle.

There isn't one person on the staff that is anything less than exceptional. My wife and I each have a degree in Secondary education, and we are quite pleased with the activities, and the structure that the daycare provides.

Aside from staying home with my kids, I couldn't imagine sending them anywhere else. I would strongly recommend this daycare facility.

PROS: Extremely Caring, CPR Certified, Lots of Educators, location.
CONS: None to list.

I interviewed to work at this daycare, but I would not recommend sending your kids there. The owner seems dedicated to keep her families at all costs and says they are very important to her, so maybe she is offering something I'm not aware of though.

I wasn't impressed by their organizational skills, their interviewing skills or their friendliness. She told me outright that they do not allow sick days. OK, so what happens when my kid gets sick? She told me "that's what Dad's are for!" She said I could not bring my kids if they were sick and I could not call in either.

The other thing that bothered me is that she said she hates to see kids scribbling on paper because it is just waste of paper. I have never heard this kind of garbage before. You can get local companies to donate paper if that is an issue, but those scribbles are the building blocks for drawing and the more they practice at it the better they will get. It teaches them hand-eye coordination and pencil grip as well.

I did not get a good feel from this center or the owner.
