My girlfriends and I got tired of shaving, and spent a lot of time exploring the possibilities of hair removal. In the end, we chose the Sona Med Spa, because 1) they specialized in hair removal (another place started off with hair rejuvenation services and branched out) and 2) had an MD for a medical director with mostly nurses doing the actual laser work, which made us feel better about the safety and quality of the service we received. The first treatment wasn't too bad, but the intensity of the laser increased with every subsequent visit. Holy smokes did those hurt, even with the lidocaine jelly. I had a problem with the laser on my 3rd and 4th visits. Since I am dark skinned and the laser is attracted to the pigment in the hair follicle, I ended up with 2nd degree burns - ouch! My girl friends have much fairer skin with dark hair and fared much better than I - no more shaving for them. It's a little pricey, but if you buy a package, you'll get a discount.

PROS: professional staff, well trained
CONS: laser burned my skin
