The hotel itself is beautiful. Bartenders were top notch. The waitress was young and inexperienced, but I think she did a good job with the mess that was being sent out from the kitchen. two orders of seared Fois Gras were both over done. Friends duck was cooked to death also. Had to send that back. I ordered bouillabaisse and got the thick heavy cream sauce that tasted/looked like a Stroganoff, not the light saffron tomato broth as the menu described. it was so thick that If I scooped some up with my fork and turned it over it would just stick there. Others in our party complained of cold food. Like I said the server tried to make up for it but she was getting no help from kitchen. They need to clean house in the retaurant (kitchen) and start fresh.

This hotel sits right on the Atlantic Ocean up against the Long beach Boardwalk (2.2 miles long).
The beach is very deep with plenty of room and sand like fine white sugar.
The hotel is open 365.
The hotel has all the emenities you could ask for.
The bar is several feet away from the boardwalk and at sunset you look right and see an unforgetable image.
The staff is friendly and can't do enough for you.
Remember to book early since the swimming and beach season is only 10 weeks long. June through September. Thats 20, Friday and Saturday nights.
The price is lower Sunday through Thursday of course.
There is surfing, Beach Tennis Tournaments, boogie boarding, fishing, jogging, biking, volleyball swimming, bikini watching and many other things to do on the beach.
Enjoy we always do...

This place was not in any way what the few positive reviews say it is.
I found the staff to be rund and inexperanced and the food to be mediocre at best.
I found this place to have high prices and low quality in their service
And to add to this, the price they get for parking was ridiculous

Let me start by saying something nice, this place is absolutely beautiful especially the outside of this hotel where it has beautiful lighting somewhat like a Las Vegas resort. (I'm sure the people living near by wouldn't agree)
But there is where the nice part ends. I have not stayed at the hotel but have eaten at their restaurant twice, the second time was a bigger disappointment than the first.
Yes the place is decorated beautifully. It has the look of a luxury resort. However, the management and staff are absolutely lacking in customer service. I'm not sure what the problem is, but it sure was evident during my experiences there both times. .
The first time I was very impressive by the looks of the room, it was flashy (perhaps a bit over-done, but flashy never the less) . We were a of four, and each one of us complained, not only once, twice, or three times but constantly, throughout our dining experience. If it wasn??t one thing, it was another the service was truly poor to the extent of being laughable. After waiting for almost an hour, I was finally served my salad which was not at all what the menu indicated. Instead of the ingredients listed on the menu, all I got was grilled chicken and romaine lettuce. Not even one drop of dressing. After complaining, I waited another 20 minutes before I got the run of the mill ordinary store bought dressing. The small order of fish was dry and much too much overcooked. With one glass of wine each, the bill, for two, came out to $125. Before the tip. We would have been better off going to the diner on the main street of Long Beach, our meal would have been more enjoyable and much cheaper. The waitress was young , and inexperience as the rest of the help there seemed to be and obviously not responsible for what was coming out of the kitchen. However, everyone was complaining to her. I actually felt bad that everyone was taking out their frustration on her. I don??t think I saw a happy customer there as far as the eye could see!! Chef Gordon Ramsey would have had a heart attack if he saw the service here.
It??s such a shame, I??m sure there was big time bucks put into this place. . Hopefully, in time, they will get their act together. But for now, in summary head to your local diner for a better dining experience

I recently had a surprise 40th for my husband at the Allegria, and it was STUPENDOUS. I don't even know where to begin...

The fireplace area was fantastic & beautiful! My guests loved the area. Thought it was a great choice.

The service & staff were MARVELOUS. The servers were conscientious, quick, thorough, & one step ahead of my thoughts. We never had to wait for a drink. They were constantly asking or serving. The hors d'eouvers were delicious! My guests raved about how tasty, and of course, the quantity. I was told they would constantly be passed around, and the servers did a great job of that! Everyone was full by the end of the night..and on hors d'eourvers!!

I had several pregnant, including me, women, and those that do not drink at my party, and what a special touch to have a specialty menu of non-alcoholic drinks. My guests were THRILLED, and thought it was thoughtful & personal touch.

We brought in our own dessert, however, the servers did a great job of tiering the cupcakes, which was a great idea. They even had candles (which I forgot)!!

I truly believe you get what you pay for. And we got all that, AND more from hotel! I can't help, but RAVE to everyone what a MEMORABLE night the hotel helped us have!!!!

I wasn't going to write this review, but considering this is my second bad experience here, i feft I had too.The setting of course is gorgeous...After reading the reviews we were expecting much more.... BUT!
The Food and the service here was awful! And the prices were higher than what they should be for the quality of food..

The crowd here also is what might be called typical Long Island/Queens. Lots of Juiceheads, tight t-shirts, fake hair and...you get the idea. Always fun to see though what drugs can do to the human body.

Pros: Not many, except for the view

Cons: The Food and the Service!

.

It's a shame that the service and the food were so poor here. The place itself was very "nicelooking? flashy but nice, but no you can??t eat the looks.

The wait staff was not very busy, yet they did not really pay attention to us. We were smushed at a tiny back table, forgotten. When they did remember, they took the order and ran away. So we had to wait until the food to come to order a drink. When we wanted to order a second drink, we flagged him down after five minutes of waving, and he asked if we wanted the check. No, we wanted another. When we did want the check, we may as well have been competing in a new Olympic event of waving and flagging.

First oiff let me start by telling you that I DO NOT work at the hotel nor am I affiliated with it in any way. Seems the negative review people have some sort of conspiracy theories. I was recently a guest at a wedding at the Hotel.

First- Cocktail Hour
Service was excellent. Food was unique and very tasty. This is not your run of the mill Long Island Catering hall. Having grown up on Long Island and having attended my share of weddings this place has broken the mold. No pigs in a blanket at this place!
Many of the guests were from CT (as am I now) and they were extremely impressed on how well this hotel is laid out.

Second.-First Course.
FOOD FOOD And More Food. Wow you will not go hungry here.

Third Main Course-
A wide variety for everyone. A+++
Food was delicious. Server was there every time I needed a drink etc. Service was so good that someone at my table is now looking to get married there.

My wife and I loved it, as did many others!!! We will be back for sure!

What scares me is that all the negative reviews point out that the positive reviews are employees etc?
After having stayed there for 2 nights we kind of get the impression that its the other way around?

Anyways great place.

Pros: Fantastic Food, Great Summertime drinks

Cons: Fishy Reviews

The service was very very rushed. very loud hard to have a conversation.

I've noticed a lot of glowing reviews here about this place , I wonder what's to stop the staff members from writing them, themselves? They all seem to follow negative reviews... seems a bit suspicious too me. Why would anyone put any faith whatsoever in something so obviously not credible.
There is a fine line between efficient, and overbearing. Here we found neither...when wine glasses are removed before you are finished, when plates are taken when only some at the table are finished the course, and when on three occasions the wait staff had to be told a guest was still eating ,the service comes under the category of overbearing. when charging city prices I expect city service. when taking us to our table from the bar area have a staff member carry our glasses!!!!! We found we were rushed to finish.
The most notable findings was the decor, which is very lovely and chic but the noise level was overbearing . We could not have a conversation. If you want an intimate place to dine, this isn't it. We wanted to take our time and wait before ordering but the waiter who was very pushy didn??t allow us to. He kept asking over and over again ??are you ready yet? Yet I had to hunt down our server for drink refills. All and all, it was average at best. Waiter didn't know the menu, some portions were cold, The food was only decent, but prices, service, food, noise, were not acceptable in my opinion.
We did not have a good experience at this restaurant. Our reservations were for 9pm and we had to wait over 30 minutes for our table. The noise was so loud you could not talk. I ordered the calamari that tasted more like chicken then fish. The fish was dry. The side dishes were good and service was only fair..

Having lived on the ocean in Long Beach for over twenty years I eagerly awaited the day we would have an ocean-front restaurant. The restaurant is here, but it's a huge disappointment. My comments here are solely regarding the restaurant and do not reflect any aspect of the long delayed opening of the hotel and it's spa (still not open). The decor is beautiful, however that's where the complements end, The staff was unprofessional and surprisingly unfriendly, no smiles were found here. Since we were two people and our table was set for four, our server cleared the extra settings and in putting them away, he wiped off a fork before placing it back in the drawer after it had fallen to the floor. A dinner for two was rather pricey at $160, especially since only one of us had any drinks. Both of us ordered soup, which was both hot and cold at the same time, indicating that perhaps it had been micro-waved prior to being served, A shared appetizer of calamari was greasy and average at best. One of us ordered Fillet Mignon that was a special, only to comment that there was nothing special about it at all. The accompanying vegetables and potatoes were sparse at best. The scallop dish was also disappointing, not having much flavor and the portion was somewhat around the size of what one would see as an appetizer elsewhere. We had to ask for bread to be brought to the table and our water glasses were not refilled unless we were able to track down someone to do it. Such a lack of service was odd when you consider that the restaurant was almost empty, with only three tables of guests at 7PM on a Sunday evening. Perhaps that speaks for itself. Long Beach finally does have an ocean-front restaurant, the only problem is that it's not very good at all..

Went to this restaurant about two months ago. Anyways the restaurant looks beautiful. The food was okay and the prices were high. The place was beautiful and spacious and unusual. The service was not the best I've had. The waiter "forgot" our wine and although he apologized he then had to be reminded to bring the coffees we ordered-- The food was only ordinary, the price were too expensive. The food was sparse on the plate. The type of crowd there was the type that wants to be seen and they show it. I can't stand going to anyplace up where a majority of these people frequent. This is one foodie that was not fooled by the hype! The food was from ok to only fair...,

We went there with the highest of expectations for a special night with my whole family for my fathers birthday and it wasn't at all what I expected. It started out on a bad note as they had listed us for an earlier reservation and snidely told us that we had lost our table because ??WE? had arrived late, although the reservation had been confirmed!!!!! Everything was great except for the food. The bar was well stocked and very pretty, although I agree with another reviewer, the bartender was a bit short with us... To my dismay, the food was sub par. The food overall was rather bland. The best part was my 1st course, we shared calamari for a appetizer. it was very good but a little rich. My second course was blah (i cant think of any other way to describe it) dessert was the same. The service was not at all attentive... leaving us wondering most of the time if they had forgotten about us or the food which was served barely warm each time
The fish was overdone when it was ordered rare. It was rubbery and tasteless. It had a very enchanting decor. I was extremely disappointed. was not satisfied with the experience they gave us for well over 400 dollars not including tip. At least I tried it, but I wouldn't go back.

Finally a place to go and enjoy a great weekend getaway on long island's shoreline. The only other place to go and eat directly on the ocean is Gurneys and that place is a dump!! This place is absolutely stunning! from the decor to the food to the rooms
What a gorgeous hotel
Cannot wait for the summer!!

Welcome to Long Beach We love it!

Pros: Beautiful place on the ocean great food great people!

Cons: People making up rumors about this place

.

I agree.this place is way over rated....it seems that many Americans feel that being treated poorly goes hand in hand with fine dining which is ridiculous.

I ate a herea couple of weeks ago and had to send back a dish that had the consistency of cardboard. They were initially incredulous that someone would send something back and were rude about it, then apologetic after someone in the kitchen checked it out and saw that it was WAY overcooked.
They did not deal with my problem the way that they should have. especially their attitude
We have not been back since, as there are other places here in Long Beach where excellent service and stellar food are much better and where they appreciate your business.

Pros: Pretty Place. But you can't eat Pretty

Cons: Bad attitude and the food needs work.

I??m fully aware that you can??t judge a place on New Year's Eve, but I wanted to find a good place to go to an early dinner, ie, not an all-night event. We planned on having dinner and leaving the restaurant way before midnight. My friends as well as my wife and I are not big drinkers or partiers, but my wife and I am the foodie of the group, so what I'd like is really just a good meal, with or without the new year's ambiance Based on the news of the new place in town we all went here. First of all we felt we were being over charged, second the food was similar to wedding dood as was the fast and abrupt service. Some one should teach these servers how to serve and how to approach a person while they are STILL eating. I felt as if they were trying to get us out of there so that they could reuse the table. For that alone I would never return here.. I avoid going back to these restaurants who think they are doing you a favor. Why do we all accept this silly nonsense? Do they think that they are doing us a favor by taking our money? This restaurant was a rip off on food, price and service The staff seemed over-zealous, the food tasted very ordinary and average at best, definitely not worth the price we paid.. We were shocked on seeing our bill as it was the most we have ever paid in any restaurant even on New Years eve... That sums up our one and last experience here..

Pros: REALLY Nice looking place.

Cons: Too many problems

This place is the best. I have stayed here 4 times already since it opened. I travel alot for work and stay here when I pass through JFK. The place is great. A happening atmosphere, exquisite food, and impeccable service. DO NOT BELIEVE THE RUMORS. The place has the finest linens and it is CLEAN as can be. It seems there are many people who want the hotel to fail so they are posting negative and NOT TRUE rumors. WE love it! Cant wait for the summer!

I found this place not to be up to it's hype. Yes the hotel may be beautiful, but i did notgo there for the hotel, i went for the restaurant and although I was very impressed with the looks of the place the food and selection as well as the people working thjere let me down.
Long Beach is in need for a really special place to go to on Saturday nights but unfortunately this resturant did not do it for me.

Pros: WOW the fish is horrible

Cons: the meat is even worse over cooked

Yes, the Hotel has terrific ambiance with a great bar scene.
But I should have known by the lack of business on a Saturday evening... this was going to be a bad dining experience for everyone at the table. It took a while to order our cocktail after we are seated, as the waiter was pre-occupied. The salad was sent back because the lettuce was so soggy and it tasted like the fridge. Steak entree was pricey, and was not tender. . Server was not too helpful, it was very noisy, the menu was kind of sparse .That night but it wasn't great at all .. It was very disappointing ...........

Stayed here with the wife the other night, First off let me say that anyone that says anything negative about the Atmosphere of this place is off their rocker. The developers did a fantastic job with the design. our hotel room was gorgeous, The bed linens were exotic and comfortable. The front desk people were VERY professional and service oriented. We had dinner at the Atlantica and the food was excellent. It is a very sophisticated blend of organic foods from all over long island farms. Dont believe the rumors this place is a 10

I decided to come here after the reviews that I found on line.. and was so excited until I actually ate the food. Big mistake. I didn??t see anything to rave about.
Despite the marginal menu. The atmosphere was really very nice, all of the surroundings were very modern and inviting, I couldn't stop glancing around at everything around me.
After reading the reviews, I didn't expect too much from the service which was substandard, and I wasn't surprised about either the food or the service If you want good food and service, this place is not for you. If you want to go for the atmoshpere, then n=by all means go..
As for the food: I got dish with shrimp and it basically looked and tasted like they poured some olive oil on top the shrimp. There was no flavor at all....maybe I should have asked them for a salt and pepper shaker. It seems like all the good reviews are about their weddings and not about the restaurant itself.
This might be a very nice place to sit with your gf or bf to talk and relax. If you get lucky you can sit right near the fireplace on the couches and watch all of the people walk around ...If that??s your thing. It seemed as if lots of people go there for that. (people watching)
What you are paying for is the experience of seeing their interior decor, the quality of their food or lack of it was nothing to make me go back again.

We have had much better in other places in long beach for a lot less money.
Sorry, we were not satisfied here.
The potions were small, the food was nott tasty and the
prices were high.
As for the reports about the service being bad, we found it to be fair, not bad but not the best either...

This place is overrated with a capital "O" and gets by with reputation more than food. First of all, Allegria is one of those places that's a kinda-sorta club and a singles hang out more than a restaurant. I was none too pleased with my experience here, mainly because of the service.
The waiter was a really nice guy, but his serving skills needed more polish
Service, slow...real slow, extremely slow ! It took close to an hour to get our entrees
This is one of these places you want to come ONCE.. once is enough. the decor is really beautiful, ??BUT?.. You can??t eat it. ..
Food, uninspiring and I certainly was NOT wow-ed
I??ve have had many better meals than this, with the price tag and quality of food.. im going to pass on going back to this restaurant !!

Apparently taste is relative.

I live in Long Beach, in the Walks, and every visit to this place has been exactly what I expected- and more. I knew that I wasn't in a West End joint with drunk-friendly portions of bar food, and knew that organic, crafted gourmet is not loaded with salt and other flavor disguises, again like barfood.

Our family wasn't too sure how we felt about this place when we first heard about it, but they've won us over with their excellent customer service, unique/classy design and great organic food (plus, the lounge is kid friendly!).

Pros: Great showing in a town that needs more... class

Cons: Too many locals want it gone

.

I can think of a lot of places in the Long Beach vicinity that we could have gone to and we would have had a better meal along with better service. And for a lot less money. Although the food looked good, it was so very tasteless, and very minuscule (small) potions. Although the food was unremarkable, the place itself was very beautiful, in fact maybe you could say it was kind of over-done and very pretentious, often a bit too extravagant. Maybe I expected more, but I was not impressed with the meal or the service which I thought was slow and amateurish . I know this is a Hotel ans is supposed to be famous for Weddings etc, but the restaurant??s food should not taste like Wedding (Catering) food

Pros: Beautiful, But

Cons: Don't care for the Foor or the Service

.

I was not impressed by the service at all. First I drove up to the valet - there were 3 young men talking to each other - and nobody came up to my car. I had to interrupt their conversation and ask them if they worked for valet. I was the only person there and there was no line or anything. Next I walked into the lobby - which is small - and there were three people standing behind the reception area and nobody greeted me. Then I went up to the bar and met a friend to have a drink. The bartender was rude and when I asked if I could taste a glass of champagne before ordering it he didn't seem to like that and slammed the bottle in front of me with an empty glass and walked away. Eventually he returned and made a snide comment. The decor implies elegance, but the service is not up to par. Not going back.
