From the moment I booked my appointment at the Maplewood location it was an all around phenomenal experience! This was my first time getting a massage and their front desk staff was extremely welcoming and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. They also booked me with an appropriate therapist that met my every need!! I became a member and will probably only go to that location because of the EXCELLENT customer service both with the front desk and therapists!! I strongly recommend this location!!!

I was reading some of the reviews and I must say that I strongly disagree. I have been to Massage Envy many times and had numerous massage therapists. There were some that I liked better than others, but then there were some that gave the perfect massage. I think everyone should remember that each person likes a different type of massage. Just communicate with the therapists and let them know what you need worked on. The best thing about this company is that they have 20+ therapists at each clinic so you can find the right one.

What a dissappointment. I was so fed up that I complained. They admitted the massuese was just out of school. I know more about giving a massage than she did. I will never go back.

I was given a gift certificate because my family knows I love massage since I've had over 100 easily. I went to one of these chain stores, they are all the same as they are franchises so I feel my comments would apply to the chain nationwide, since they are governed by the rules of the corporate home office. My gift certificate said it was for a 1 hour massage. What I got was a super speedy 45 minute massage. They include the time you take to get undressed and the time you take to fill out their forms. The therapists apparently cannot go over 45-50 minutes or they get in trouble. The massage therapist hands were moving so fast it started to make my anxious. Plus she didn't even have time to work my hands or feet. Ya know those extra 15 minutes make a big difference. What a rip-off? Well, what's the saying - "ya get what you paid for" - yes their massages are cheap, but it shows the man who started this chain came from the real estate or health club industry and not the spa world. It was not an enjoyable massage. I will say the place is clean, professionally run and the staff was pleasant and courteous. I would suggest searching out non-chain places to get a decent massage.

The atmosphere in Massage Envy is very serene and soothing. I had a one-hour introductory massage because I was having sciatic pain. The massage therapist I had did a very good job and within a day or so my problem started clearing up. The on thing I did not like is the fact they were so pushy with a tip. I generally tip well, but when someone is trying to open my wallet for me, I am not impressed.
