.

My husband saw Dr. Helibrunn for a routine check-up and cleaning. Before the appointment my husband confirmed that the dentist accepted our insurance. Several weeks after the appointment we received a bill from the dentist with a copy of the insurance EOB. The dentist charged $60 for "Oral Hygiene Instruction." My husband said that the dentist did speak to him about brushing his teeth, but at no time told him it was an extra service or he would be charged for it. The insurance company did not pay for it, so the dentist was billing us. My husband wrote a very nice letter stating that he did not request the service or was ever given an option to accept or the deny the service, or was he ever told it would be extra. Who would ever think a dentist giving instructions on how to brush your teeth would be an extra cost? He "respectfully asked not to be billed for the service." The dentist wrote back simply stating "do not return to my practice." I think the customer service on this issue appalling.
