Hired them to build a one and a half story garage specifically to put an apartment above the garage. Late work, shoddy work. It was supposed to be a two car garage but they put in a one car garage door. The upstairs was less than six feet high, not high enough for a room up there. I told them to stop because I didn't think it was tall enough but when I came home from work it was roofed.I filed with the state of Minnesota but I needed a blueprint to do this. When I told Patrick this he said that they don't provide blueprints. I was stuck and had no recourse at this time. I am now stuck with a shoddy huge storage shed basically.

Hired WRC to do a large project in the Spring of '09 and the work was very good and at that time they were prompt and very good to work with, however, it was after the project was completed and the final payment was made that the s... hit the fan. They had failed to pay Arrow Building 26K for materials for our project and they in turn filed a lien on our building. Over the next several months they have paid 20K and they/Pat McDivitt, still me $6,000 after we had to pay 13K of the amount owed ABC. Same problem that many others are having with communication, can't get ahold of them and they/Pat fail to communicate . Their business practices are beyond horrible and I'm at a loss as to what I can or should do.

Like previous reviews have indicated, stay away.

Summary - We hired them to build a basic two car garage in April of 2010. We were told 4 weeks total. It is now October and the project is still not finished. If you need any additional information to stay away from them please call or email me.

We had a number of bids and they were in the middle of the price range, but could commit to a decent schedule which was important to us.

First review
The estimated time frame was 4 weeks total when we signed the contract (including time for the concrete to set etc). We were told it would be done by Memorial Day. I cannot get them to return a call, e-mail, or text! I've tried all their cell phones, office lines, emails... I've been promised a number of times that construction would be starting "Monday" or "Friday" and no one shows. Now I cannot get a return call. Avoid them at all costs. I have detailed timelines of attempts to contact them and non response for over up to two weeks at a time.

It is now August 19th, and they still need to install the garage door, do the electrical, and the cement work for the driveway and sidewalk. It has been a week with no response from e-mail, calling, and texting.

They have also said it is not their responsibility to pay for the neighboors fence that was damaged in May ($495) in damage. The dumpster of one of their subs hit it. The owner Pat said "it is like if your buddy drove into it". Meaning he wants me to chase down his sub instead of paying for the damage himself and getting reimbursed. I paid to fix the fence and Pat told me I'd have a check the following day, well its been over a month and no word or check.

The electrical finally showed because I paid them directly since Willow River hasn't been paying their sub contractors. The electrician voiced his frustration with them as well.

More updates to come if this project ever gets finished.

Updated October 1. The major construction is done (six months behind schedule), there are a few issues still pending. They haven't returned a call in three weeks. I finally called from another number and got the owner Pat to answer, he then acted like he had a bad connection and couldn't hear me when I said my name.

We are still waiting for the inspection to be completed, after every rain water is covering the garage floor, when they did the cement it splashed over the garage door and they just left it, they still have a work bench attached to the wall in my garage. The list goes on, but all I can say this is the by far the worst contractor experience we have run into. Stay away at all costs.

Terrible experience with Willow River Construction, LLC. Months late with work. Finally just said go away and I will finish the work myself. Did not pay sub contractors who have since put lien wavers on my property. Would rate zero stars if I could do that.

Pros: Sub contractors do good work

Cons: Late with work, do not do agreed upon work, do not pay subs

Terrible company. Stole my money and now contractors are putting liens on my property. Found out after the fact that they have been sued multiple times and taken to court multiple times because they do not pay their bills. Probably using a Ponzi scheme to try to stay afloat.
