Rumored to have been closed because they were making the rent doing a little more than food.... the rumor is that they were pushing coke out of their place...rumored in the kilo size. sounds crazy but what else would explain a sudden shutdown. A friend of mine said there were tons of armed feds all around the place one day. Makes sense to me. That place was alwasy empty and god knows that rent must be huge. I am sure the news will fly soon! Explaination for a sudden shut....they didnt know they were closing until they were closed!

I was supposed to have a reservation last Thursday for 14 people at 8pm which they even requested my credit card for. I never received any notice that the restaurant was going out of business. Luckily I called to confirm a day before the reservation and no one ever answered the phone. I did some digging and ran across a couple of other website reviews that also said the restuarant had "unexpectedly" shut-down. Hopefully Citysearch will get rid of this listing soon.

i didn't think that there was a steakhouse left in manhattan, especially a peter luger spinoff, that i hadn't tried until i heard about blair perrone. not only was the porterhouse the best steak that i've ever had it was also the classiest and the best service in town. the hot and cold seafood platters, an amazing lobster mac & cheese side topped off with the chefs special dessert a poached pear dipped in chocolate and nuts served with a homemade cinnamon vanilla icecream made our dining experience insurpassable to peter lugers and all of his merry men. my only regret is that it took me 2 years to find this fabulous steakhouse.

My search for a great steakhouse is finally over and its easy to get to. Every thursday night we go out for drinks steaks and laughs to our favorite steakhouse blair perrone. After being there several times you never get bored with their different nightly specials, great service and great hosts Charlie Blair and Joe Perrone. You can talk to Charlie about the Yankees and kid Joe about the Mets they are always around to joke with.
If you've never tried Blair Perrone's you don't know what your missing...

If i'm eating at a steak place in a third world country i can understand their approach, in the sense they want to make a huge place attempting to capture the essence of the American way. Mistake as soon as we walked in as the place is built for tourists in a residential part of town. Probably the worst steak i have eaten in a while, undercooked is bearable as it can be put back on the fire but, there is no solution to a bad piece of meat. I can see it attract the party crowd that doesn't care much about the food and is there for the space.

Bad engine, bad train. Attentive conductors so not their fault that the product is no good.

I live in Midtown with its plethora of steakhouses and have tried them all except, until last night, this place. I pass it?s great-looking mahogany bar daily on the way to and from work. The host, one of the two owners, recognized me from passing by so often and joked that it only took me 2 years to try the restaurant. I?m glad I did. The dining room, with its 20 foot ceilings, is stunning. Our waiter was quick with the drink order. I ordered a Chimay, my wife a Sav-Blanc, and her friend some fruity drink. The wine list is extensive and reasonable. The waiter described the specials and then patiently listened to my wife?s friend describe her vegetarianism. He was able to satisfy her with a plate of colorful veggies. My wife and I had the porterhouse which was as good as any we?ve had. Interesting specials, side dishes (saffron lobster mac ?n cheese, maple brussel sprouts), and desserts (pumpkin creme brulee). A carnivore, an omnivore, and even a herbivore all liked this place.

Pros: steak, creative specials, considerate and proficient service, ambiance, wine and single malt lists, sport-savvy bartenders, hands-on owners

Cons: was seated too promptly and couldn't get lubed up at the bar beforehand to deal with wife's friend

I was recommended by my friend to try Blair Perrone Steakhouse as he was always raving about how good the steaks are. I finally had a chance to go there with my wife and it has now since become my #1 favorite steak house plus place to eat. I say plus because the menu has so much to offer and then you have some awesome specials to choose from. my favorite is still the porterhouse, but there is a dish for everyone.....a must to go to

When I'm in the mood for a great steak, which is about once a week, I go to Blair Perrone Steakhouse. The porterhouse steak melts in your mouth and together with their traditional and non traditional sides, like the lobster mac & cheese, it just makes for a perfect meal. The service and ambiance are also excellent as are the hosts Charlie Blair and Joe Perrone. For a great steak I would travel to Brooklyn but thanks to Blair Perrone Steakhouse I don't have to.

Pros: Best Steak

.

Yes, the space is nice. Yes, the service is good. But I go to a restaurant for the food, and the food at Blair Perrone just didn't cut it. The steak was cooked properly, but that's about the best thing I can say about it. It was flavorless, didn't appear to have any salt or seasoning, had no discernable char, and was a little chewy and fatty. On top of that, there wasn't even that much of it. The creamed spinach with goat cheese and bacon? Honestly, it looked like a gloppy brown-green mess, and that's how it tasted. The potatoes were OK. The tomatoes in the tomato and onion salad were not terribly ripe. Dessert was nothing special. The best part of the meal was the Canadian bacon appetizer; that they got right. If you want a Luger-style steak and don't want to go to Brooklyn, you're better off at Wolfgang's; it's the best of the Luger spawn.

Went there last night with a couple friends and had a great time. I have been there a few times before but they just added some new things to their menu that are amazing! My steak was perfectly cooked and the lobster mac and cheese was to die for. My friends also enjoyed their entrees and there were so many good appetizers and side dishes we ordered a bunch to share. The service was great and everything was delicious!

the other night on a whim we passed by blairperrone steakhouse and had to enter because the aroma outside was tremendous. the hostess was as gracious, friendly and very accomodating. the bar was packed and very energetic. we tried the bp martini which is infused grey goose and very delicious. next was an unbelievable meal with incredible service. we started with the crab cocktail that was spectacular and then went for the porterhouse which was recommended by a very friendly and professional waiter named peter and was just as good. a definite to ask for him.. we passed on dessert but went for the single malts selection which was a big plus.

I live three blocks from this jem and as a steak fan felt obligated to give it a try. I have been to the famed Luger's, so the menu and price came at no surprise. Overall, this is a great place for a dinner with friends or taking a client. The menu and prices are nearly identical to Luger's except here you can also get seafood and individual cuts of meat. The main difference is the service. We had to call and change the amount for our reservation twice. No problem. We were almost 45 minutes late. No problem. This would not have been the case at Luger's. When our food came we had 5 people dishing out the steak and sides. Also not the case at Luger's. All in all great experience, we didn't have to call 2 months in advance for an 8pm reservation on a Friday night.

Just went for the first time. The food was fantastic, porterhouse was tops and while pricey was just as good if not better than most of the other excellent but expensive steaks I've had in the city. Sides, starters and desserts were all good too. Service was fine, we were seated immediately and courtesously. The restaurant is very professional looking, but good for a date also since it was so much quieter and calmer than most of the other steakhouses in the city (Sparks comes to mind as one of the most chaotic.) The high ceilings add very much to the pleasant ambiance. Did not see them much, but it seemed like there were a number of private rooms and extra spaces around the restaurant that might make it good for a private party.

First off.....all those who did not like the restuarant must be luger lovers(they're the worst). The food at BP's is great, staff is extremly attentive and curtious, and the atmosphere is rich. A great place to take the family or the buddies from work.

We had a great dinner on a snowy night last week. I introduced the bacon to a new crew and they were heads over heels for it. The steak was brilliant, the filet portion of the porterhouse was the best I've ever had, (that's saying something). The only criticism on the food front was the wedge salad could have come from D'ags, a bit skimpy. Good luck and we hope you continue to roll as I live up the street!

After having my boyfriend's 30th Birthday party there, and dining about 5 times in the restaurant, I can say with conviction that it is the best steak in NYC. The space is beautiful, the staff attentive and the food incredible. Much more "female friendly" than the "other" steak places in town. Always a great meal and a fabulous evening out.

I had such a great time at Blair Perrone for dinner, decided to go there for lunch.. to tell the truth I was having bacon withdrawal. I ran to the table just so I could order. My friends thought I was insane, I assured them there was a reason to my madness..Just wait and see. The staff as usual was on point a true team. They seem to enjoy where they work. Lunch menu is Great, a wide variety of items to satisfy any craving, light or all out. I turned my friends to "The Bacon", then ordered a variety of things salads, burgers and Steak with sides of course to have a buffet. As ususal .. Awsome!!Sorry no room for dessert, our pants were too tight. I reccomend Blair Perrone for Lunch, Dinner, Snack at the bar and Drinks. Thanks gang for a great time and the Coffee Mugs!!

My family and I dined at Blair Perrone on February 17, 2006. We were impressed by the dramatic setting of the restaurant, which was very elegant with large picture windows overlooking Second Avenue. We were warmly greeted and enjoyed a great steak dinner. The Porterhouse for 2 was cooked perfectly, juicy, and had a great beefy flavor. The hash browns were great as was the selection of breads including soft, chewy salt rolls, which I love. We all had salads which were large and fresh with great dressings. Drinks were professionally made. Our servers were friendly and efficient. We also met Mr. Perrone who seems like the perfect owner of a steak house and really seems to enjoy what he does. After dinner, we had drinks at the adjacent bar. All in all, it was a great evening out and we will definitely return.

Not your typical steakhouse. Definitely a place that will impress. Beautiful atmospher -
20 ft ceillings - lovely velvet drapes. All this and great food - no rushing to turnover the tables. We sat for 4 hours. Dinner was excellent - steak cooked to perfection. Very attentive staff.

After my visit to the new Blair Perrone Steakhouse I said to myself finally New York City has a steakhouse that has it all.A great steak, beautiful decor, and exceptional service.Normally our choices are noisy, overcrowded and gin mill ambiance. This place is amazing, and I guarantee in the real short near future will be the best of the best in NY City. The food is great, the space is magnificent and you could actually keep a conversation with your guests.

being an expert and advid lover of steakhouse cuisine my dining experience at blair perrone steakhouse was unforgettable and will certainly be on my favorite list to go to. we started at the bar, which besides being quite beautiful has a lovely warmth to it. we we're later led into a spectacular looking dining room. also being a shell fish lover we started with the seafood platter which had the tastiest assortment, besides being huge, of seafood that i've ever had. the porterhouse steak, which melted in our mouths was not to be believed. the wine list has something for every connaisseur to choose from, and of course dessert was deliciously sinful. the service was behind the best and the hosts, charlie blair and joe perrone make you feel very special in their restaurant. it was not only a night to remember but one to repeat over and over again.

Wow.
That's all I can say.

My wife and I visited the Blair Perrone Steakhouse after seeing a mention of it in the New York Times. We were impressed indeed.

We have traveled the world and have visited every major restaurant in Europe and in the States and have to say this is one of our all time favorites. The food is fantastic, the service world-class and the ambiance is amazing!

Not only are the sizzling porterhouse steaks the best we've ever had, but the seafood is also unforgettable. The hot seafood appetizer is a must. We loved the lobster tails, calamari, huge prawns, tasty clams and delicious mussels.

Blair Perrone is head and shoulders above any steakhouse in NYC, including Peter Luger's. The food is better and the room divine.

We'll be back!

I loved Blair Perrone. As a former MarkJoseph Steak House regular I would follow Joe and Charlie anywhere. Five years ago when they opened MarkJoseph I was in heaven, but now that I have eaten at Blair Perrone I know the true meaning of happiness. The decor matches the food exquisite. The steak melts in your mouth and I have never seen shrimp that big any where. They perfected the calamari to be the best in the world. I am not a big dessert eater yet could not pass up the Key Lime pie when I saw it being delivered to another table. The staff was professional and courteous. One thing this place has is owner management you will always see Joe or Charlie running around the dining room. My dinner companion said it perfectly "This Place has Old World Charlm". You leave wanting to go back the next day!!

From soup to nuts they need to get thier act together, it must of been a ploy to get me to spend more money because they had me sit at the bar for twenty minutes while tables were open. The arrogant maitre'd was annoyed when i asked about sitting down "those tables are for other reservations" low and behold those tables were still open as my wife and I finished dinner. Ive been to many restaurants in my day and this steak had more fat than i've been accustomed too. Just wait until you get the bill we didn't break a window we bought a house.

Cons: overpriced, rude, not a good piece meat

At last, a steakhouse that is more clubby than manly. A perfect place to take the wife for a good steak, great value winelist and spectacular service. Instead of a loud, dark, claustrophobic setting, my wife and I were treated to a gorgouse floor to ceiling glass room, well-spaced out tables and attentive and knowledgable service. As a fan of the "Luger" style, there will be no more car service to Brooklyn for me, just a quick cab ride.
Hot seafood appetizer is a must have!

Pros: Staff, Ambiance, Food

.

Blair Perrone is -overpriced-, period. The staff is great but the food leaves much to be desired. For the prices they charge, there should be something special about every dish, that is not the case, you'd be better off taking the same dollars and cooking the meal at home.

Pros: staff

Cons: overpriced, food not memorable, not recommended

The pricing is out of this world...asked for dressing for the tomatoes & Onion, check came and they charged $2.50-6 anchovies were $2.75. Steak on siziling plater with so much butter you could not taste the steak also pre-cut so you had to eat very fast-medium rare became well done in 10 minutes.
25% higher then the Palm down the street and 75% less taste

I ate here on 12/8/05 very good, I'am impressed! Old location of Ruth Chris on 2nd Ave. Beautiful decor excellant service. We had the porter house for 4 and it feed all 5 of us and had some left over. The side dishes could be a little bigger but that was the best steak I have ever had and I've been to top steakhouse before, You name them I've been there! Let's see if they keep up the good work! Peter Luger's better watch out I think we have a new jack in the city!!!!!!!
