I have recently been to Jefferson Nails to receive a pedicure and a pink and white full set. I was please to be informed that they had recieved recognition in becoming the best nail salon in the area for 2009 by the Daily Press. I always recieve great service everytime I go. The shop is always clean the employees are very nice to clients. I started going 3 years ago when I got to the area every nail salon I went to was owned by Asians and I don't have a problem with that the United States is about equal opportunity but the preivous one I have gone to made me very uncomfortable not this one! I was very comfortable and could feely communicate with my tech.
I recomend this place to anyone that want a good job done, friendly people, and a clean place to go. Lavonne Davis of Newport News, VA

I was a walk-in about noon on a Saturday. The place has a stained, icky carpet and it was badly in need of vacuuming. Behind the chairs was filthy. But the actual work areas were clean and properly disinfected. The girls seemed to all do a good job.

The owner had to chastise a lazy employee right in front of all of us...she did not want to take a certain client and then sat down to work with her cell phone headset hanging off her ear.

The televisions were both on, tuned to 2 different stations, but the reception on both was absolutely terrible...a waste of electricity...more annoying than anything else!! I would rather have had them OFF than listen to them skipping and flipping and getting static the whole hour plus that I was there.

All the products they use have conflicting smells, so that was really weird too...the scents should match or at least compliment each other! The magazines were 2 years out of date. The drying fans were covered with magazines and a flip-flop reject basket, so the blowers did not work. The gal drying next to me and I figured it out and moved all the junk, to reveal the fans, and THEN the blowers finally worked!

I guess for a walk-in on a Saturday, it was worth it, since every other place in the area was booked and I needed a pedicure badly. But I would not go there again unless I was desperate. I would prefer a cleaner, stress-free place. The owner was very nice, and she was the one who did my pedicure, but the place was just not up to par.

Oh yeah, and you can't tip on your credit/debit card.

Everyone is always welcome to greet you. They do pretty good. I've been coming there for two year. I usually request for the owner Lady and/or the younger girl Terri "
