2 Stars: Dr derakshani is a good dentist but not wallet friendly (by Jahmai O.)

I went to Dr. Derakshani for cleaning and found out I had cavities. I immediately scheduled another appointment with him to have them taken care of. Before he started addressing the cavities I asked at the front desk whether or not the procedure would be taken care of by my insurance company. They proceeded to contact my insurance company and came back telling me I had to pay 200 dollars and the rest would be covered by my insurance. I paid the 200 dollars and did the procedure. The concise version of the story is that 6 months later I ended up stuck with a 700 dollar bill I was told my insurance company would pay. Turns out they billed my insurance 2 grand and I had to pay the 700 bucks. He did a great job on my teeth but ouch ... my wallet is now aching.

4 Stars: Good dentist. (by Dmitri Z.)

I don't understand what the other two are talking about. First of all you don't need to play your statement... The statement is what shows what is still left to pay weather by you or the insurance company. What that means is that your insurance company has not paid yet. You pay what they tell you to pay in the office. Second of all, if your tooth is infected then you need to get it pulled... I had a root canal for 5 years which I didn't feel(I temporarily had no insurance) and it just started to hurt recently. At some point it's simply too late to save a tooth.

Now to review the actual dentist. He is very skilled, however a little rough. What I mean by that is that he has very precise movements that are rapid and a little bit intence. He works fast, explains what he does and why, responds when you feel pain. The nurses are very nice and the front desk is good at calling to remind on appointments. as well as work around your schedule. Overall it's pretty impressive I would definetly recommend but if you are sensitive and are afraid of the deitist, he might not be the best for you. However if you are comfortable going to one, he's great and keep in mind he seems to have a lot of experience under his belt.

1 Stars: This is a blow (by Mitesh S.)

I wonder what are dentists into? Some kind of a cheating business, all trying to pluck a person's tooth one way or another. I went to consult for some basic pain and was instantly suggested to remove the tooth. Strange but true and what followed is a ton of reasons to get me scared though none of the reasons seems logical not practical. I wonder what are authorities doing with giving the licences to such professionals. Not sure about the capabilities, but would never go again for sure. Although I have seen this as a common problem with most dentists.

PROS: None
CONS: Allways want to pluck a tooth for any problem with the teeth

2 Stars: Okay I guess (by Betty Y.)

I go to this doctor mainly because of the location and my insurance program. Two times has the billing for my simple dental cleaning become a hundreds of dollards over what it is supposed to be. Of course I could not let this stand but I can tell you this. Be sure to review your statement before slapping out that credit card book. The service, however, is pretty recommendable. Nothing special. The dentist insisted on painting sealants on my son's teeth for over five minutes. I am not sure if it was out of concern or to win the conversation. There are a few dental assistants that are not recommendable as they poked my teeth to bleed at times. But then again, the dentists breath were not minty fresh all the time. Really the bottom line is if you have luck. Sometimes this place was great: easy location, practically no waiting time, and proficient dental hygenists. There is a television to watch. Privact is great. On the other time you can be billed wrong, have a dentist who didn't brush well enough, and was having a not so good day (pushy).

PROS: waiting time, parking, location, privacy, television
CONS: service, environment
