If you are having a night out, want to go some where fun, fabulous and funky - pick Bone Island! From their unique decor to the yummy food at great prices, to the staff who give truly awesome service, this is a cool spot just to hang out over dinner. The menu is extensive and it all looks yummy, so its hard to choose what to have. But it won't matter, at Bone Island - "Its all good"

This place is so cool. It's down to earth and very casual. Everytime I go they make feel like a king. The food selection is awesome with very reasonable prices. I like the decor and the paio is just relaxing. Try the duble decker chicken tacos. Superb! They have a great drink selection, friendly and fast wait staff, and it's got a California/Floeida tropical feel to it. I can't say enough good about this place. Plus it's in Vandercook Lake within walking distance of the lake which is great for swimming, fishing, and boating.

I used to see Mitch's Cranberry Cafe but it looked so gloomy I never went. The Bone island Grill is like an oasis!
The decor is a fun tropical with funky stuff to look at all over. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the food is good.
PROS: Great place for lunch.
CONS: There is a bar so use your discretion.

Restaurant used to be Mitch's Cranberry Cafe with so-so food, so-so decor, so-so service. We visited once in awhile when in the area visiting family, but were never very impressed.
What a surprise to discover a few months ago that it sported a campy, new facade which prompted us to try it again. After the first visit we were totally won over --- the food was fabulous! The staff is faster than a speeding bullet and their friendly helpfulness doesn't diminish when the place is packed. The restaurant is cleaner, brighter, 'happier' ---
an altogether lovely dining experience.
Located right on one of the main streets in the village of Vandercook Lake; easy to find; adequate parking. We've never had a mediocre meal here, and have driven up (over 30 minutes) just to eat here even when we have no plans to see relatives or friends.
PROS: Better food than most restaurants in the city of Jackson north of here.
CONS: Tiki-style decor might be a bit cheesy, but not offensive.
