My fridge stopped working after Sandy. The service that I received has been horrendous and for a 2 hour job I received a $425 for labor. For two weeks i am trying to talk to somebody to understand WHY and also why they left my wine

I don't understand these reviews. We have been using Len's for more than 15 years, both for ourselves and also for our small apt. coop. They are always helpful, cooperative, and most importantly, the technicians always solve the problem. Roger, the tech I am most familiar with, is extremely knowledgeable. Several years ago our dishwasher had a problem, he ordered a part, which did take a while, but the office kept us informed as to when the part would arrive. We have not had a problem since. Our building washing machine had a broken drain pipe. Roger came by today, as promised, diagnosed it and fixed it in about 30 minutes.

I should have looked at the reviews before I used them. I called them to come fix my dishwasher. They charged $75 for a house call and told me they needed to change a part, all and all my cost was over $500. Conveniently expensive but just below the replacement cost of a new dishwasher. So they came the following week, and as they fixed the dishwasher, they damaged the plumbing below my kitchen sink as well as the kitchen cabinet. They replaced the part anyway and I had the plumbing fixed by someone else. Once the plumbing was fixed, I tried to use the dishwasher...still not working. So they come back, and find another problem. Another part, for another $450. They never wanted to admit the made the wrong diagnostic in the first place. At the end, it cost me about $1,000, took weeks to get the dishwasher fixed, had to take 4 days off work...worst experience ever. Do yourself a favor, do not use them.

I've used Lens Applinaces twice. The first time when I purchased a new heating/cooling unit. Then again 2 years later when the AC broke (compressor). They charge $75 for a house call to see what is wrong and then that gets applied to the cost of your repair(s). My unit needed a part that they were not able to get their hands on but instead of sharing this information with me, the owner, kept telling me that the part was coming. Weeks were passing and we were in the middle of a heat wave with my apartment for sale...and no part. I considered going elsewhere but they already had my $75 and kept telling me that the part was coming. After 7 weeks of waiting, the part finally came. The man who does the installations and repairs is a great, helpful, young man. The owner of the shop is old and grumpy and lied to me on several occasions regarding the ETA on my part...which needless to say, I did not appreciate. If he had been honest or up front with me, I could have planned better or made other arrangements. I did not appreciate being left in the dark. I dont know how this place stays in business. The office staff is the absolute worst. The woman who answers the phone does so by saying "good morning, I mean good afternoon" every time she answers the phone. Once she hung up on me when I was trying to schedule an appointment when she thought the conversation had ended. When I called back and explained what happened she apologized by saying "I'm sorry OK? Im not perfect and I thought we were done." I tried to calm her down by making a joke and she said "I SAID I was sorry! what more do you want from me?"

While the maintenance team was efficient and very nice when they arrived to my apartment, the service every time I called was horrible. They could not give me a status of my parts for days (I called 2-3 times every day for about 4-5 days..kept saying they would call me back, but never did). Finally, I decided to just wait on hold for 20 minutes while they called the part hotline. The price is comparable to other city services and the actual service when they get to your place is good, but setting up appts/trying to get info on your order is a nightmare.

Terrible Service! After paying $175 just to look at my dishwasher, which was 1 month ago, they still have not even called me with an estimate. I have called 5 times and even spoken to managers who just blow me off. In this economy, I am shocked that any business would treat their customers this way. My dishwasher just needs a hose replaced! I feel like I was scammed for the $175 initial fee. Anyone with similar problems should report them to the better business bureau!

Terrible Service! After paying $175 just to look at my dishwasher, which was 1 month ago, they still have not even called me with an estimate. I have called 5 times and even spoken to managers who just blow me off. In this economy, I am shocked that any business would treat their customers this way. My dishwasher just needs a hose replaced! well, i dont know for sure that they are horrible, because THEY NEVER SHOWED UP. when i called i was very specific about needing a morning appointment because i could not waste an entire day of work, and said i was willing to wait until one was available. They told me "no problem" and set me up for a "morning appointment" 2 days later.

so, i sat in my apartment until noon and finally called. "they are on their way", i was told.

at 3pm i called again. "um, i think between 3-5" i was told.
"are they DEFINITELY coming, because i cant waste any more time?", i asked.
"oh yes, they are definitely coming".

well, i finally left my apartment at 8pm, and they never came.

there are PLENTY of places who do repairs in NYC people, unless you enjoy sitting around your apartment for 12 hours for no reason, and being repeatedly lied to about them showing up, call someone else.

Absolutely the worst!
A tremendous hassle trying to set up an appointment to review a dryer. After all the beaurocracy they finally gave me an appointment. Mechanics (2) show up and push all the buttons on the dryer panel. They tell me theres obviously nothing wrong with the dryer. No further investigation was conducted. $300.00 dollars later the mechanics leave and as soon as i try to turn on the dryer , nothing worked...

I would not buy a Viking refrigerator again, but I would definitely call on Len's to repair any appliance. They scheduled an appointment quickly, were knowledgeable and had repair parts on hand, and were committed to finding a solution to my problem, and even followed up. Everyone was courteous and easy to work with.

Writing to say we had a very good experience with Len's repair of our Viking refrigerator. (That said, I'll never buy a Viking appliance again.)

Two months later, when their work had to be patched up, had the same service calls rescheduled four times--each on the day they said they would be there. In each case, they said they would call by 8.30 to let me know about when the tech would be there. And in each case I had to call midmorning to get the bad news. Obviously, for each one my wife or I had to take entire days off from work.

Len's is the only authorized dealer for Viking ranges in my neighborhood. As I told the one of the multiple people I spoke to on the telephone, if I could make another choice beside Len's I would.

Len's Appliance can fix just about any appliance you can think of, from refrigerors to air conditoners, and all in between. He has many of the needed parts in stock, cutting down on the time you have to be without your appliance working.

The owner has been in business for many years, and knows his business very well. He employs several workers and makes sure that they all are well taught, including one of his own sons. He takes the younger ones out on calls with him, and teaches them how to do a proper repair.

Len's Appliance Service can also arrange for you to purchase new appliances at competitive prices, including stoves, washers and dryers, air conditioners and much more. They also install what they sell, whether they deliver it to you themselves or if they arrange delivery from a warehouse.
