5 Stars: The Truth about Top Drawer Thrift (by Project T.)

Top Drawer Thrift is indeed one of the best Thrift Stores in Austin, but what a lot of folks don't realize is the store operates solely in support of Project Transitions. Project Transitions is a nonprofit organization that provides housing and hospice services for individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS in Central Texas. In fact, Project Transitions is the only organization that does this. And, it's true that Top Drawer Thrift is run by two staff members and a cadre of awesome volunteers. This helps us minimize administrative overhead and pass the savings on to our customers. Join us every fourth Tuesday for Moonlight Madness at Top Drawer Thrift, with live music, tasty treats, and 50% off all clothing 7-10pm! www.TopDrawerThrift.org

5 Stars: A great thrift store with great staff. (by Robert L.)

Although they're small, Top Drawer is the first store you'll notice in a long chain of thrift stores down Burnet. They have a great selection of things, but not always a lot of stock. What I really like best is that the store is apparently run with minimal overhead - a lot of the workers are volunteers.

In addition, they're partnered with some leading charity organizations and they do a bunch of work around Austin. I really can't recommend this place enough.
