Roosevelt Mall was o.k. when it opened except for S. Klein on the Square, another New York City bargain basement (department store) export. Now it's just a strip of closed stores for lease. The only improvement after all these years was John Wanamaker's, then Strawbridge's, now Macy's. The teen-age hangout crowd took over this "mall" on day one! If Macy's leaves, they will be joining Lit Brothers, Clover, J.C. Penney, Gimbles, and a hoast of other department stores that gave it their best try. The suburban malls have taken the crowds. Like the Drive-In Movie, Big Boys, and Jardel Dance, Cottman-Castor is just a memory. It's sad, but so will Roosevelt Mall. Enjoy the pizza Justin, it may not be there tomorrow. Bring back the circus and the clowns! We had more fun! (Note: For those too young to remember, the circus grounds in the Northeast, although seasonal, were located where the Cottman-Bustleton Center and Roosevelt Mall are now.)

Every year Roosevelt Mall has a Halloween Parade. While I notice every year the older kids are becoming pushier & taking all the candy from the younger kids, who inevitably will take there time cause they are younger, some in strollers, I still think this Parade is a fun concept. I just wish that there were more ways of advertising the date & getting more store involved. I have only seen it in the Citypaper & because of where I live, there isn't access to the FREE Citypaper nearby. I also think , because I am an adult I should NOT be denied candy. In this day of costumes & masks we really shouldn't judge. I think if ANYONE takes the time to dress up on this day and walk for candy, should get candy. There isn't going to be many adults who do this anyways. I have been dressing up for years & I intend to do this till I no longer can. I am not every adult. While I understand the stores do this voluntarily, I still think that it should be made mandatory. It's only 2 hours of 1 employee's time, for mainly the kids. I just see this changing & even ending at this rate. Sad :( It really is a fun thing to attend.

there is this guy dave who works at modells he really likes hats. one time i went there and i needed help with shoes and he came over to help me. but after asking a couple questions he starts going bi-polar on me and starts throwing shoes. he starts jumping around like a monkey and meowing like a cat. he had this really wild look on his face and starting hitting me. i tried to get management but they were no where to be found in the crowd of people running and screaming for their lives from hat dave. he looked like a evil viscious monster like he wanted to eat us all he also has a sidekick named ferd who works at game store beware of him also. i don't think any of you wanna go to this modells.

Also there is this store called foot action. They didn't let me return my boots. i hate it here they are horrible!!!!!! and they also scowl like a cat and give you attitude. But their attitude is not as bad as hat daves. i don't reccomend foot action especially at this location.

If you are under the age of 17 you will think Roosevelt Mall is really cool, if not, you will want to skip it. Roosevelt Mall is an open air mall in the Northeast and the only game in town as far as malls go in that section of the city. Most times the mall is overrun with teenagers crusing or hanging out and smoking. There are a coupole of good stores, the large anchor store is Strawbridge's. Good to go there in a shopping emergency, otherwise, don't bother.
