I relocated to Portland from New York City back in April and luckily found Dr. Rafia. At this initial check-up when Dr. Rafia examined my teeth and x-rays, he had to deliver the bad news that 6 crowns (provided by my NYC dentist) needed to be replaced as they were poorly fitted and responsible for my inflamed gums and other problems. He carefully showed me the problem areas; using current x-rays of my teeth versus the New York dentist x-rays (his office contacted my dentist in NYC to obtain all of my x-rays in advance of my appointment so I would not have to get unnecessary x-rays done.)

We then embarked upon a plan to replace the 6 problem crowns. Dr. Rafia was concerned during the multiple procedures that I was comfortable and not in any unnecessary pain. He was professional, knowledgeable and answered all of my questions and concerns during these appointments. Upon completion of the crown replacements, the hygienist partnered with me to ensure that I left the office prepared to maintain my teeth and gums with proper flossing and brushing techniques and usage of a fluoride rinse. I followed those directives to the letter for the past six months.

I went back for my 6 month cleaning/check-up last week and am thrilled to report that after having those 6 crowns replaced by Dr. Rafia and adhering to the responsibility of taking care of my teeth, my gums are now healthy and pain free! I enjoyed having a routine cleaning with a meticulous, friendly and efficient hygienist and a consult by Dr. Rafia confirming my teeth and gums are healthy.

Everyone in the office is professional and courteous and the facility itself is spotlessly clean and high tech. The offices are light, airy and inviting and it?s wonderfully distracting to be able to see a lovely view outside from the dental chair. I cannot compliment Dr. Rafia and his staff enough. Thank you hardly seems sufficient for returning my teeth and gums to health!

I absolutely love Dr. Rafia's dental office and his entire team. From the moment I walked in to the time I left I felt right at home. I hate the dentist... scares me because of a past dental experience from another dentist. Dr. Rafia had me laughing and actually enjoying my visit. I am so thankful to finding his office and I tell people nothing but the absolute truth about his team... they are hands down the best in Portland!! If your looking for a place where you feel at home... I definitely recommend Dr. Rafia!!

I love Dr. Rafia, I feel really lucky that I found him and didn't have to suffer through another unpleasant dentist experience like I've done my whole life! His staff is really sweet and everyone makes you feel comfortable.

I went here based largely on the Citysearch reviews. The office itself is very cool and sleek, and they have the latest toys. The hygienist pointed out several potential trouble spots, and I was eager to talk to the dentist about those and about several possible cavities/ongoing problems. Dr. Rafia was in the exam room for *maybe* 3 minutes. He dismissed the hygienist's concerns (which seemed valid and worrisome). "What about cavities?", I asked. "X-rays look fine. What else?" "Um... what about these other issues?", I queried. "Not to worry. What else?" After about the fourth "What else?" I'd had it. Apparently, he was in a real rush to get to the zero other patients waiting the clinic. When it comes to my teeth, I'd like to find someone who takes time to look and listen. I won't be going back here.

Dr. Rafia is an outstanding dentist. He is thorough, knowledgeable and explains complex dentistry in easy to understand terms. I agree with the last review that we are lucky to have him.

Dr. Kaz Rafia is the nicest dentist my husband and I have had. He's so easy going, spends time to chat with you about your life, is very professional, and is the most unselfish, giving person humanity-wise. The best thing I like is how there's never any sales pitch to buy any product or service, which is what our last dentist did (Pearl Dental). They do an amazing job and they almost become your friends. Our hygienist is Kimberly, she's fantastic! I tell anyone I can think of to go there. We are very lucky here in the Pearl to have Rafia!!

I highly recommend Dr. Kaz and his staff. What a pleasure to go to the Dentist! I have had some bad dental experiences and continuous pain for over 10years in my right jaw/gum where I had a root canal. I went to several dentists & an oral surgeon for the pain, including 2 very expensive Drs. recommended as "the best in NYC", and they could not seem to figure out what was causing the pain--perhaps TMJ, bite issues..., but ultimately , that it was "not dental related." I then avoided the dentist and "dealt" with the pain. Finally, I just couldn't stand it anymore...I went to Dr. Raffia initially because his office was right down the block...I struck Gold..or Platinum, in this case. He was the 1st to notice that the root canal I had 10+yrs ago was very badly done, the crown was not fitted to my gums & much too large. I also had shards of metal from the bad crown digging into my gums. Dr. Kaz put me very much at ease during the procedures (the dental hygienist -was also excellent) . My jaw is now pain free after 10+ years --it has made a wonderful difference in my life- it has allowed me smile so much more. Dr. Raffia and his excellent, warm & friendly staff will take great care of you and your mouth.

Dr. Rafia took his time to answer all my questions and perform the exam, cleaning was very thorough and the staff were very nice. I have already referred Dr. Rafia to two individuals in the Pearl. No waiting. 5 stars all around.

Going to the Dentist is definitely not my favorite thing to do. When I made my appointment at Rafia Dental I was expecting a typical dental office, hearing dreadful drilling noises, waiting a long time for the doctor or dental assistant to come out?etc. but my experience with Dr. Rafia could not have been more pleasant! The office itself is beautiful, clean and very appealing. Friendly, warm staff. Dr. Rafia is an exceptional doctor! I would highly recommend Rafia Dental.

When I called Dr. Rafia's office to make an appointment I was slightly reluctant to go in. I have had some bad experiences with my previous dentist and didn't want to continue down that path. When I walked through Dr. Rafia's door I was pleasently suprised by the absense of the clinical/dental feel. His staff is very pleasant and accomidating and his office is beautifully modern. Dr. Rafia himself is amazing! He saw that I was nervous and so we just sat and talked for a while. I have never had a doctor who cared enough to get to know me and have a casual conversation. Once Dr. Rafia started his work I was pleased with his humor, explainations, and gental approach. I have never been that happy upon leaving a dental office and I will be returning to Dr. Rafia and his wonderful staff for a long, long time.

As a physician, I am very particular about who I choose to take care of my own personal medical needs. His gentle touch and gorgeous office only scratch the surface of why you should go see this dentist. He is clearly VERY knowledgeable, takes the time to explain your dental issues, and deeply cares for his patients. No Pain, No bleeding... GO TO RAFIA DENTAL, you will be thrilled with Dr Kaz !!!
