Parents, is this what your child really needs?

by Anonymous

I recently visited the grand opening of a Primrose pre-school. It was beautiful. The classrooms were bright, cheerful, and had a great set up with various centers displaying hands-on science, math, manipulatives etc. to encourage skill development. Children develop and learn in various ways. When in a play-based learning environment children have the freedom to discover, investigate, explore, use their cognitive skills and initiate their own learning. After looking at the daily curriculum, I'm not sure this is the philosophy of Primrose Schools. The schedule seems more teacher directed and very structured. As a parent, I saw the classroom as "perfect." Children need love, nuturing and the freedom to express their individulal interests. I don't believe this program promotes this.

We put our girl at this facility for almost 9 months (what a waste!) and we have to say this is the worst decision we have made for her! If we could start all over again, we would not have put her to this place. Most of time she was crying when I dropped her in the morning and still crying when I picked her up in the afternoon. Very often she came back home with nail scratches on her face and her pony hair is 100% off everyday! The facility looks fancy and new but some of their staff is less than polite and threatening. I was recommended by one of their staff to bring my girl to see a doctor just because she did not talk to this teacher! My girl seemed to be so terrified to be at this place. We finally made the decision to pull our girl out of this place and we glad we did! I wish they could see how happy my girl is right now. She has not cried even ONCE at this new daycare! And she comes back with clean face everyday! Just look how confident, happy and outgoing she is right now! She seems like she could finally get out of that place, too! I highly recommended visiting more than once and observe on your own. Clean facility is nice but professional staff and a caring environment is much more important.

Pros: new facility

Cons: terrible staff

their staff could be friendlier

by Barton

Programs are not set up appropriately for younger kids. Staff are not friendly nor professional as they should be. We should have pulled our baby out of there earlier.

Pros: facility looks clean and new

Cons: but staffs are not professional
