Our son is now 6 and spent a little over 2 years at Primrose before going to kinder at a public school. His kinder teacher says he's doing very well and has obviously seen the material before.

The ratios are awesome and so are the teachers! Any concern I had was dealt with in a very professional yet caring and positive manner. He really blossomed and learned so much at Primrose. The owners were on-site and very approachable. I can't imagine a better experience for our son!

We visited many other "daycares" in the south Austin area and from day one we felt that this was a school and not a daycare. The staff has been absolutely wonderful to our 3 year old twins. The curriculum inspires young minds to explore and learn. Parents have an added benefit of having access to their weekly curriculum as well as links to a variety of websites that allow us as parents to provide a continuity of learning at home that corresponds to what they are learning at school. These website links are updated for each week's "units of learning".

The owners, Duff and Kristen are actively involved in the school/business that they have built and its not unusual to see one or both there on most days of the week

Finally... saving the best for last, the school director, Adrienne, is absolutely incredible!!! She takes the time to answer any questions you may have, and I have had plenty of questions as a first time parent. If she doesn't have an immediate answer her follow up has always been later that day or at the latest, the following day. She truly cares for the children at Primrose and wants them to develop to their full capacity and will work with you to ensure that happens.

Im not really sure why someone is writing a review having only toured the facility. I can say I am very pleased. Having just moved to Austin from Abilene i had tried several daycares before. And thats just what I felt..they were daycares. This one I feel is a real preschool. I was afraid my standards were too high because being military we always used on base with our son and the rates were amazing because it was subsidized. But Primrose exceeds beyond my expectations. It makes it that much easier forking over over 1000 a month for care!! Totally worth it for my son though!

My children have been at this Primrose for 2 years now. They love going to school and all the personal touches like their own backpacks and uniforms. They have a lot of college educated teachers and older staff and the ratios seem lower than at other schools. Whenver we speak with the directors our needs are always met and sometimes above what we requested. We have had a great experience.

Pros: involved owners, strong directors, great curriculum

Cons: nutrition

I'm suprised to read these other reviews and wonder if they aren't talking about somewhere else. We've been in the school for over 3 years and came from a competitor. This is the first school we've found that does what it says. They have a friendly staff, they all know me and my children by name. They really have a curriculum. (my last school said they did but I never saw evidence of it). If there is ever a problem they follow up quickly. (The owners even post their personal number at the front desk!) I've looked at other new schools in the area and they don't even compare.

We put our girl at this facility for almost 9 months (what a waste!) and we have to say this is the worst decision we have made for her! If we could start all over again, we would not have put her to this place. Most of time she was crying when I dropped her in the morning and still crying when I picked her up in the afternoon. Very often she came back home with nail scratches on her face and her pony hair is 100% off everyday! The facility looks fancy and new but some of their staff is less than polite and threatening. I was recommended by one of their staff to bring my girl to see a doctor just because she did not talk to this teacher! My girl seemed to be so terrified to be at this place. We finally made the decision to pull our girl out of this place and we glad we did! I wish they could see how happy my girl is right now. She has not cried even ONCE at this new daycare! And she comes back with clean face everyday! Just look how confident, happy and outgoing she is right now! She seems like she could finally get out of that place, too! I highly recommended visiting more than once and observe on your own. Clean facility is nice but professional staff and a caring environment is much more important.

Pros: new facility

Programs are not set up appropriately for younger kids. Staff are not friendly nor professional as they should be. We should have pulled our baby out of there earlier.

I recently visited the grand opening of a Primrose pre-school. It was beautiful. The classrooms were bright, cheerful, and had a great set up with various centers displaying hands-on science, math, manipulatives etc. to encourage skill development. Children develop and learn in various ways. When in a play-based learning environment children have the freedom to discover, investigate, explore, use their cognitive skills and initiate their own learning. After looking at the daily curriculum, I'm not sure this is the philosophy of Primrose Schools. The schedule seems more teacher directed and very structured. As a parent, I saw the classroom as "perfect." Children need love, nuturing and the freedom to express their individulal interests. I don't believe this program promotes this.
