Aboca's is a wonderful family owned Italian restaurant located in an unassuming strip mall on Central Expressway at Beltline. Everything is made fresh daily with the finest ingredients. The owner/chef is in the open air kitchen and comes out to greet his customers. The wait staff are very friendly and you get the feeling that they are genuinely glad that you came to eat with them. The restaurant is small and it can get really busy and Friday/Saturday so don't wait too late to go or you will be on a wait! The chicken lasagna is fantastic.
we've been there several times and I must say, we never had a problem with the service as others suggested here. Their food is above average (HUGE PORTIONS!!) so it is worth trying out. Would I say that this is my favorite Italian place in town? NO! But it's still pretty good...
Pros: very good veal dishes
Cons: not the nicest place inside
I must agree with Togofar. Our group experienced the rudest, most unprofessional service we have ever encountered (bar none). One of the females in our group also stated that the ladie's room was "nasty" dirty. I think they were also having a problem with their grease trap that night. Although this was not our first dining experience at Aboca's, it was certainly the last for all of us.

Pros: Reasonably Good Food
Cons: Poor Service
Coming from a 100% Italian family , Aboca's is the best home cooking this Yankee has come across in Texas.
I am a native Bostonian who moved to Texas in 1996. I was home sick for some good Italian food until I was introduced to an Italian Restaurant called Pisano's that my friends said I had to experience. Well it was excellent. They made me feel like a family member. The food was always hot and plentiful. I have since moved back to Boston, but still visit about 2-3 times per year and always make a point of eating at what is now called Aboca's Italian Grill .... I'm going tonight !
So all you Yankee's out there looking for real authentic Italian cooking..... Aboca's is the place.... mangia !!!
Pros: Homemade Food
Cons: N/A
If you want good service go to another restaurant. I have been to Aboca's a few times and consistently the service is not great. However, the food is very good. I had an unfortunate service experience there recently and have decided that I will not be returning. You should not have to get up to refill your glass of water and your food should not have to be remade because it is burned. You should not even have to ask. I am very sad that I will not be returning and wish that I had not had such a bad experience. The time to get it to your table should not be over an hour either.
Pros: Local, good food
Cons: bad service
I had an incredible pizza last week at Aboca's - it was incredibly fresh with chicken & tomatoes. Definitely can't get this high quality at one of those chain pizza places. The ambience was relaxing & the servers that I spoke with were all really friendly. I will absolutely be back to try the other many Italian dishes on their expansive menu. Aboca's has a renowned chef there I hear overseeing everything on their authentic Italian menu, yet served in a casual & relaxing environment! I will returnn often.
Pros: Friendly Service, Casual Atmosphere, Delicious Italian Menu
Cons: none
I have been a loyal patron to Aboca's for 3 years. A couple of co-workers and I try to go every Monday for lunch, and the food and service are always, always excellent! (Tony is almost always our waiter!) We love the homemade bread and the very garlicky olive oil that is served along side the bread! I normally have the Aboca's salad with blackened chicken, which is excellent. I love the house dressing! Occasionally I like to try some of the more hearty dishes, such as the chicken lasagna, the pizza, or the blackened chicken caesar salad, all of which keep you wanting more. That's probably why we visit every Monday - each visit leaves us wanting more! I hope you have the chance to try Aboca's - - I bet you'll be back too! Enjoy!
Pros: Great food, great service
I typically get my orders to go, but have also eaten in the restaurant. It is a byob if you want alcohol, and the space is limited, but the food is excellent. I highly recommend the Chicken Aboca. It is superb! Always consistent and is served with al fresca pasta and steamed veggies. Yum! Their house dressing for their salad is excellent, but the bread and olive oil with fresh garlic and seasonings is to die for! The pizza is awesome. I have always had excellent service and they are most always accurate with to go and delivery orders. If they make a mistake at all, they ALWAYS make up for it one way or another. I have always had good customer service from the manager Tony. When it is busy, the restaurant can seem a little cramped, but the food is worth it. Bring two bottles of wine when you visit... One to enjoy and the other to share with the legal aged staff. They deserve it! Enjoy!!!
Pros: Superb service and food!
Cons: Parking can be difficult and the restaurant size can seem cramped. BUT WORTH IT!
