Went to Shooters on a Sat. night. I was expecting the same old smokey, low-rent pool hall, but was surprised by the modern and cool feel of the place. The food was GREAT (if you like cheesesticks, theirs are the best I have had). The prices were reasonable and comparable to any place around and the staff was friendly. Looking forward to the next time!
This place is awesome in many, many ways. Went there on a friday night and had a great fun time. The band was good, played oldies and new dance songs. They have shuffleboard, pool, darts and foosball. They have plenty of flat screen TV's. The wait staff is friendly and efficient but I had quite a nasty surprise at the end of the night. MY BILL was 132.50! Now granted, my bf and I drank about 12 shots and 15 beers over the course of the night. The cost of the "3 legged monkey" that we bought were 6.75 a piece! I was not very happy at this point and it definitely put a damper on my up-to-that-point good opinion of our fist visit to this bar. We were looking for a new place on the North side that was taken care of and not scuzzy and old OR addled with cops waiting to arrest patrons as they leave such as one establishment on Parmer with a name that rhymes with pool biver. We thought we had found a great place but the cost gave us a bad taste. What a shame that they overprice their shots. I may go back after my budget recovers but I just wanted to post a warning to beware of their shot prices so you don't get a surprise at the end of your night as I did. My bill was about 32 dollars over what i think it should have been.
Pros: great atmosphere, good band, roomy, clean bathrooms
Cons: OVERpriced drinks, smoky- needs better circulation
Do not use your debit card at Shooters. They charged my card when I left on a Sat. night and I wrote the tip on there. Then come to find out a week later that they charged my card again 2 days later with the tip. I called my bank to clear it up and was told that per the request of Shooters, the original charge was being held for 20 DAYS!! So I called Shooters and was told by the Manager on Duty that this happens all the time to them. I told him they must be doing something wrong because I have never had this happen with any other company. The longest a charge has taken to clear up is 4 days. So it is now day 19 and even after speaking with the General Manager Linda with her telling me this would be taken care of a week ago I still have paid double of what I purchased from thier establishment. Also in case Linda decides to tell someone she did something to help me she is lying. I gave her all the information to give to my bank. They said once they got it there would be 1 - 3 days to process the information. It's a now week later.
