I found out about the Peddler Bike Shop through my riding club. Some of the guys I ride with swear by them and their ability to fix anything, and I mean anything under the sun in the bicycle category. I had them look at my husband's ancient Schwinn, and they were able to source the parts needed to get it back to road-worthy condition. Very impressed.

The managers were great. The helped me figure out what needed to be done with my bike and what component would give me the best bang for the buck. It ended up costing a lot less than I expected.

The kid that worked on my bike had an attitude problem. He neglected to cap the cables after he trimmed the ends. He didn't replace the donuts on the cables. He didn't clean the rims. He didn't clean off any of the dirt and grime. Then, he smirked when the manager got on him about it.

I recently purchased a bicycle from the Peddler Shop and was so impressed that I've decided to sign up for Citysearch for the first time just so I can sing this shop's praises. In the beginning, I only went to the Peddler Shop because they were across the street from the Scooter shop I was planning on buying a scooter from. Even though I was leaning strongly towards purchasing a scooter for transportation to and from work (a 16-mile round-trip commute) I thought that it would still be a good idea to look into the possibility of getting a bicycle instead. When I entered the shop, the owner looked up from the bicycle he had just completed work on and greeted us with a friendly smile and "What can I help you with?". Pretty general stuff, I know, but it can mean a lot some times. I told him that I was considering purchasing a commuter bicycle even though I haven't ridden a bike in over five years and that I knew absolutely nothing about bicycles. So, he took the time (roughly 45 or 60 minutes) to educate me about my various different options for a commuter and the pros and cons of each one. Even though his shop was busy and full of people at nearly every time of the day (we went back several times that day to make certain other purchases and finalize the shipment plans), I noticed that he and his crew made sure to really pay attention to each and every customer who walked through the door.
I've looked at other shops in town before, but this was the only one that really made me feel comfortable and confident about purchasing a bike.
In summary, I would and will strongly recommend this place to anyone looking for a bicycle. Don't be deceived by the small size of their shop because they pack a lot into it and have a lot more in the back. It's obvious when speaking to them that they not only know what they're talking about but also truly love bicycles. And most importantly, their customer service was absolutely outstanding. And I absolutely love my new bike!
