ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLLLLLLLLLLLEEE. Sneakiest sales staff (one told us all about his drug dealing days. yeah) Incompetent, rude administrative assistants, who wont let you talk to any manager regarding customer service. When they act like they will get a manager, they put you on hold (i once stayed on for 15 minutes) hoping you will hang up.
First off, we bought $2100.00 worth of furniture (sofa, loveseat and recliner- nice stuff) we were moving on a certain date, so we made sure our stuff would be ready at the warehouse they day we were moving- moving truck and all- rolled up to the warehouse, all girls in tight clothing sitting at their desks texting. Finally one warehouse worked helped us for over an hour. FINALLY, the so called manager woman of the warehouse (Sophia or Victoria or something) told us that our loveseat was not there. We said we moving out of state, and she promised she would have it there in the warehouse in 3-4 weeks. Never a phone call. I called. She said it wasnt there yet and she would call me. One month later, no call. I called again, that's when all the apalling customer service- they were evasive, jacking us around. Long story short, they FINALLY delivered out loveseat 3 1/2 months later!!!!! The best they could do is give us in store credit for $150.00 Yeah. That will buy a rug. Plus the closest Ashley's is 3 hours away.
P.O.S. uneducated managers who don't know how to serve clients, salesman look like used car salesman on meth.

First of all I am do glad I did not buy anything from Ashley. I walked in into this location a few weeks ago, with the weekly ad in my hand. I knew exactly what I wanted. After being greeted at the door, the gentleman asks what I was lookin for. I showed him the ad, and he after the credit check, he said,"to tell you the truth, this bedroom set in the ad is not made of real wood and it is very cheap. It will break in about a year." he then convinced me to look at some other bedroom suits. After choosing what sounded good, I kept asking for the total. I told him I didn't need mattresses, he insisted on showing them to me, he was getting very pushy. After about the 4th time asking for the total price, he finally comes back with a piece of paper. My intention was purchasing about $3000 worth of furniture. He then tells me the total is $22,000!! (which included mattresses) What!! But with a discount he worked so hard to get me, it came down to $17,000! I said no way, I cannot afford that. He kept on insisting that he got me a good deal and he would throw in some lamps and a tv. He wasn't taking a "no" for an answer. I then asked him to take off one of the bedroom sets, he asked "why?" then he brought another guy who also tried to convince me. I felt like I was being forced into getting something I didn't want. They would not let me get what I wanted. Why do they advertise, if they don't want to sell those items? I think those ads are just to get customers in there, so that they can "prey" on them. I didn't think they were going to let me leave the store. Finally I was able to get away. Whew... So glad I did.

Absolutely do not do business with the company. They practice unethical business practices. Never, Never sign any paperwork until your furniture is delivered. If you order something and it comes in wrong or damaged they will charge you a 25% restocking fee even if it is not your fault. We were told our mattress would be in, in 4 days and three weeks later we still have not received our mattress. Repeated calls to the store and no one would talk to us or return our calls. When we did go into the store and manager to corner them they would lie and tells us it would be in tomorrow.
Our sales person acted like she did not know what was going on. Next time I will pay a little more and go elsewhere. There are plenty of other furniture stores in Lubbock that want and need your business.

Under no circumstances buy anything from this store.

We will be filing complaints with the Lubbock BBB, Texas Attorney General, Federal Trade Commission and most likely a lawsuit. We are out approximately $6,200 plus attorney expenses. Ashley Furniture Homestore in Lubbock is not a company that should survive this economy with their poor business practices, intentional lies and customer service.

sales staff was very friendly. we bought 2000 dollars worth of furniture and was told it would be atleast a couple of weeks. furniture came in relatively quick, but one of the pieces was not what we ordered. was told that they had another one in hobbs and that they would have it picked up for us. had delivery scheduled for last monday. never showed up, so i called the warehouse and they said it hadn't come in and that it would be delivered the following monday. well, today is the following monday and i have called the warehouse to see what time they would be here, and guess what, i was told it's not in(again) now there are saying in another week. from what i've read there is not point trying to get your money back unless you want to pay a 25% restocking fee so i guess i'll keep waithing. i will however never do business with them again. i'd rather pay higher prices elsewhere and deal with people that actually care about their business and reputation.

oh, and don't bother calling the store. took a dozen calls and six hours to get in touch with my sales person. i have left numerous messages to speak with a manager and have yet to recieve one phone call.

NEVER buy furniture from there again. I ordered furniture from the lubbock location in february and was told that it would probably take 2 weeks because of what i got,this was far from the truth it is now the end of April and i still have no furniture!

Their customer service is ok, but don't expect to get what you pay for. They delivered my sectional and it was two different colors and one of the cushions was only covered half way with fabric. When I called them they said it was because they were made at separate times. Never heard of that! I was told to go in to pick something else out to trade, but could not find anything I liked. I simply requested my money back, but according to the contract I signed I have to pay a 25% cancellation fee and the rest I given back in in store credit. I told them that it should not matter since it was not my fault, but to them it doesn't matter. I'm out the 400 dollars I already gave them, and just out of luck with no living room furniture. I've been lied to by three of their managers, and been treated like crap. The best part is they don't care. I have read the many other horrible reviews, and this seems to be a trend. They must not care too much or have not read the reviewed. I just hope others read these before they have an experience like mine.

3/16/2011******Ugh?. I have been waiting for a month finally when I received my furniture it was damage, the delivery guy takes a marker out on my $800.00 dollar dresser now I am waiting for someone to come out to repair it, to make matters worse they order the wrong color couch that I still don??t have NEVER AGAIN I should have read these blogs first. I wished I could just go get my money back but I just found out that if I cancel the order they take 25% of my money what really so I am at their mercy??. What I am going to do WAIT. Thanks Ashley for the great service!!!!!!!!!!

On 1/29/11 We pd cash for a leather sectional $3400 when we recived it 3pcs were damaged they told me they could apostry 1 of them and fix the other 2 I told them no we didnt pay cash for used or damaged furniture they ordered the 3 pcs and 2 of them came in and the other one hasnt yet but the 2 we got were also damaged so I call to talk to a manager and never herd from one so i called the store in Lubbock and spoke with Kari King and she would have someone call me so the next day the wharehouse manager called and said they had 2pcs in the wharehouse if I wanted to come look at them so I did and 1 of them was messed up so i asked if they were the #1 store in the nation why cant they give me my money back and they said thats just our policy so I told them I was going to call my lawyer and they acted like they didnt give a care so buy the time I got home they were ringing my phone off the wall trying to make us a deal by giving us a little bit if our money back for compensation I just hung up on them I just wish there was a better way to let the world know how they do buisness so maybe they would go out of buisness So i guess we are stuck with this crap until it falls apart and just maybe we will get our other pcs in sometime in the future Ther has to be a way to get this company If anybody knows please let me know. I purchased two sofas- paid cash- was to be delivered on a Monday.
I waited all day- about 5pm called warehouse for delivery info was told they would be here. About 8pm a delivery person called me saying they would be here shortly-after they finished the delivery they were on. An hour later they showed up stating I was 14th on their list and they delivered number 15 before me. Their drill had run down so they had to use mine. They had issues getting the sofas in my door- scraped white paint on the backs of dark brown sofas. It was after ten pm before they left. They told me to call and have someone come clean the paint off- and that they had been overbooked on deliveries to clear out the warehouse as some big shot was coming. I called Tammy who was over the deliveries - explained I spent a whole afternoon and night waiting on them, etc. She offered me a $50 gift card for compensation. I never got it. I have called her twice since and still nothing. From the reviews I have read guess it would do no good to speak to a manager.

Heres what had happen. Went furniture shopping and being new to Lubbock just hit some of the "Nice Places" on the South West part of town. Unfortunately, looks are deceiving. I was kinda of
surprised that most of the display items did not have prices posted. Which should have been a red flag.... Well I found some merchandise and long story short was given the option to use what
they call a 90 day same as cash purchase. Well I was asked for 25% down of which I gave them and I signed the bill of sale. Then to my horror I was presented with the paper work to fill in order to get the "90 Day Same As Cash Option". The form was titled " Rental Lease Purchase" and in the form heading there was a space listing Ashley Furniture as the Leasee and Myself as the
renter.

In all my years of living the word "Rental" means you never own it. I immediately asked for my money back but I was informed there was a restocking fee of 25% which conveniently equaled the
money I had just put down not 5 min ago. Very suspicious how they collect the money first ... What a shady little place.... I am now in the process of suing "Ashley Furniture " Principle owner
Richard Choi . Upon further investigation also found Mr Choi also owns another business called "The Rental Store" which oddly has the same address as Ashley furniture.

The picture below is of The Choi's local owners and of Ron Wanek the franchise owner of Ashley Furniture. There is certainly nothing wrong with success. But when deceptive practices target
an entire community at a time of such troubling times its just greed at its worst. Especially when by Mr Choi's own words that the company is experiencing so much growth they've opened up a store in Midland, Amarillo, Hobbs, and Roswell. I am by no means the first consumer with a complaint against Ashley furniture. Just look up Mr Choi's record with the BBB. Not to mention the fact that this couple has used its ill gotten monies to contribute toward local campaign funds. At the bottom you will find links so you can do Fact checks.

In summary Buyer beware,,, This place is out to deceive and swindle the consumer pure and simple.

I bought a couch from Ashley furniture in Amarillo and the cost was $540.00. Good price for a couch but there were underlying factors. I paid delivery charge of $67.00. When they delivered the couch to my apartment at 8:30 at night they could not get it in the door. There was enough room because we had measured the couch and there were two possible ways to get the couch in the apartment but in the process they torn up my walls and the door frame trying to shove it in. The delivery people then took the couch back to the store. I went in to get a refund and they refused to give it to me saying that I cancelled and will have to pay the restocking fee of 25%. I did not cancel. I wanted the couch delivered and put into my apartment. The store canceled and they refused to give me my money and will not deliver the couch either. They will also not give me back the delivery fee money. I am now going to have to take them to small claims court. I have been taken by some businesses before but this takes the cake. DO NOT BUY FROM A COMPANY WHO IS ONLY OUT FOR THEMSELVES AND NOT THE CUSTOMER!!!

I am a current sales associate at Ashley. We go through extensive training before we are allowed to sale. With every customer we have to explain "The Ashley Story". Which is We design, we manufactor, we deliver so you save! Basicly anyways... yes everything is made when ordered. Somethings are in stock but most likely from someone else cancelling. The return policy is a 25% of your total ticket restocking fee and in store credit for the rest. Somethings can take longer than 6 weeks but you should be told when ordering that it can take longer if its something back ordered. We call out customers once a week until the furniture is delievered. After that its sorta up to the warehouse to do thier job. Its out of our hands at that point. But I have personally called the warehouse and helped customers get things set up. We will go out of our way stand on our heads and do back flips to make sure everything gets to you in a timely manner. We don't get our pay until your a delivered everything right. So of course we want it to be the best expirence you've ever had we want repeat business and we love our job.

I am a current sales associate at Ashley. We go through extensive training before we are allowed to sale. With every customer we have to explain "The Ashley Story". Which is We design, we manufactor, we deliver so you save! Basicly anyways... yes everything is made when ordered. Somethings are in stock but most likely from someone else cancelling. The return policy is a 25% of your total ticket restocking fee and in store credit for the rest. Somethings can take longer than 6 weeks but you should be told when ordering that it can take longer if its something back ordered. We call out customers once a week until the furniture is delievered. After that its sorta up to the warehouse to do thier job. Its out of our hands at that point. But I have personally called the warehouse and helped customers get things set up. We will go out of our way stand on our heads and do back flips to make sure everything gets to you in a timely manner. We don't get our pay until your a delivered everything right. So of course we want it to be the best expirence you've ever had we want repeat business and we love our job.

I was concerned because of the negative reviews but went in anyway. Really very impressed with the selection. The sales person was great. Furniture pricing was better than Bob Mills, Lacks, etc. Bought $3700 worth of furniture and we will definitely shop there again.

I recently purchased some furniture from this location, and I am also a returning customer. My experience has always been a pleasant one. They are very nice and courteous. When you purchase the furniture they specifically make you sign on the back regarding their return policy. My sales consultant explained to me that Ashley does not have in-stock inventory in an effort to keep their margins low. So each purchase made is especially for you...I love this store!

Paid cash for a chair, ( Big Mistake) Went into the store 4 days later and cancelled the order. The manager told me a 25% was in effect, I asked how could it be when I was told it was in stock by the salesman. How ever it had to be ordered as they don't keep stock. I was told to come the next day and meet the VP, who did not show. I presented a written cancellation of my order to the Sales manager a different one. Both told me they had no authority to issue a full refund. WELL ON FRI. A WEEK AFTER THE ABOVE THEY CALLED ME AND WANTED TO SET UP A DELIVERY DATE. I TOLD THEM I HAD CANCELLED THE ORDER. THE MANAGER WHO I HAD TALKED WITH CALLED ME AND STATED THERE WAS A RESTOCKING FEE OF 25%. AGAIN I ASKED HOW CAN THAT BE WHEN I HAD CANCELLED THE ORDER A WEEK AGO. HE STATED" I WILL CALL YOU AFTER I FIND THE WRITTEN PAPER. of course no return call.

I asked for the owner or the CEO name and was told that he can't give that out. CAN YOU BELIEVE.

MY BIG TIP IS BUY IT ON THE WEB GET BETTER SERVICE AND MORE THAN LIKELY QUICKER
