BEWARE of staff stealing patient identity.. First of all my wife had a horrible experience at the ER University Hospital on Fletcher. I don't have enough time to explain how poorly her situation was handled. The staff and doctors were not very professional and our stay should have been half the time it took. Wife had a kidney stone, was in great pain as anyone who has had a stone pass can attest too..not much they can do for that but supply pain relief....$10,000 was the bill..YES!!!!!!!! Criminal...and then someone stole my wife's identity and racked up additional $1000's on a credit card. The Tampa police said this has become very popular with identify theft cases. WATCH OUT..go somewhere else or take your chances.

My father was taken to the emergency room here. He was left alone in a room for 10 hours. He had to beg for some lunch and he kept telling everyone he needed insulin. His blood sugar was eventually almost 500 and they still did not give him any insulin. They transferred him to a room and it still took 2 hours for him to get his insulin. The nurses in the ER were the most rude people I have ever met. The Paramedic and EMT students working in the ER were very nice and the nurses on the floor where he was transferred were nice too. Even after being there for a day and a half he still hadn't been seen by any doctor. I would never want any of my family members ever admitted to this hospital again!

The university hospital ER was one of the most uncomfortable places I have ever been in my life. Unfortunately I had Kidney Stones and they gave me very strong pain medicine for that. The patient beside of me was trying to take my medication and a friend had to intervene to protect me as I was sleeping. The hospital staff also left me in the hallway in the ER while on Morphine. Thank goodness I had a friend looking out for me.
