I lived near Canine fitness and fun center and saw the large sign that said indoor pools, swim year round. I was so excited...... until i went and let my two dogs stay for a day. The smell was horrendous. My dogs were shoved, pulled around on a leash, at one time i saw one of the employee's( from what I could tell) kick or smash a dog into one of the flimsy cheap "walls". There was mold growing on the floor near the pools, the ramp for the so called large pool is so cheap that it bent with little weight. I thought it would break anytime on of my medium sized dogs came out of the pool. The owner was stuck up and acted as thought she had tons of knowledge in the field. After hearing her explain to me some medical things about my dog I realized that she had no clue. (my aunt is a vet!) The staff was rude and seemed to not care about me or my dogs at all... until I came to pick them up. There were two girls up front and one was so nice to me and made me wish that she worked somewhere better because then I would have brought my dogs back. Over all my experience was horrible and if you want to check it out they have web cams so you can really see some of what goes on!

Pros: NONE

Cons: EVERYTHING!

I was very disappointed with how dirty the place was! The staff was great, so I was surprised that they would not keep the place in better condition. It is very run down.

I would not recommend this daycare for many reasons: 1) staff is very unfriendly (except for the owner); 2) the facility smells; and 3) the biggest reason is that your dog may be muzzled without your knowledge. I dropped my dog off one day for daycare and the staff person asked is she could use a gentle leader on my dog during the day. Why? I asked. Instead of a muzzle. What? Have you muzzled my dog? Why? Come to find out that my dog had indeed been muzzled for barking on several occassions for which I had no idea - nobody bothered to let me know. I'm not against discipline, but I'm not paying over $20/day for my dog to be muzzled. Doggie daycare is a place for dogs to have fun, run, play, and bark. With multiple playrooms, I see no reason why my dog could not have been placed in another room. Be aware!

I am a huge dog lover and a big fan of Canine Fitness in Baltimore Maryland. So when I went to Denver, and saw an ad for Canine Fitness & Fun Center, I thought I had found a sister store. NOT EVEN CLOSE! This place calls themself Canine Fitness and Fun Center, totally copying the true Canine Fitness that has been in Baltimore for years. There is no comparison to the two, none. I visited the denver facility to find a rude lady who acted like her place was the best in town. She kept raving about the news channels that have done stories on her place. Whoopee! Anyone who has ever worked in the media knows that all news stations are desperate for stories and have often featured really lame places just to fill up time between commercials.
But anyway, back to my review... This place is not at all nice and I am really disappointed that they are using the same name of a place that I love. These "pools" that are above ground and basically look like they could fall off their cheap platform scare me. It looks like wood they are on and I swear, it looks so dangerous. The people who work there are not trained in any sort of therapudic swimming and the smell....let me just tell you about the smell. I was afraid I would never get the stink of bleach mixed with urine out of my nostrils. I would never let my dog step foot or paw into those pools. Then I saw the rest of the facility, which was no better. The basement was the worst of all with a nap room of crates in the dark and then another very small room with cheap agility equiptment and these mats of rubber that could only be described as cheap and stinky. The ceilings are very low giving a feeling of being in a cave. So, when they are not in the "pools" they are in the dungeon. Nice.
The outside has a short fence that any boarder collie could clear and no grass or gravel, just hot pavement. I was so disappointed after coming from the real Canine Fitness and also after reading reviews that people actually liked this place. I have to be honest, I have nothing nice to say.
I go back to Maryland tomorrow and I am going to tell them of the very poor imitation. I think it hurts their name to even be compared or mistaken as a chain. This was the worst dog place I have visited, and I visit them allover the country often.

I brought in my dog for a temperament test after touring the facilities the day before. I read many reviews on here saying how unclean the place was, but it was quite evident that this was not true. I could smell bleach in the place. My dog did well on her temperament test and I brought her the next day. She seemed very content and happy when they brought her out to the lobby. She had never been to daycare before, so I was worried she would be traumatized. She certainly wasn't though! I would like to try and see if she will swim sometime, she never had before. This place has two indoor swimming pools which I believe no other place does in Colorado. I would highly recommend trying out this place.

Pros: Clean, four play areas, two pools

Cons: Outside was a bit small

I have a little dog who is fairly shy. I have lived in the area for awhile but hadn't heard about this place until they had a charity dog wash a few weeks ago. There was a little blirp about in on Fox 31 news, so I decided to try with my dog there. My dog passed the temperament test well despite the fact that she is very shy. I felt content with leaving her here and she seems to have been doing fine so far. I was afraid on the first day that she might come home shaking in fear as she did after a day at another daycare...but she seemed very content. I was told that she did not play very much with other dogs during her day their, but that she did play with the humans a little bit. Hopefully with time she will warm up to other dogs more.

I came here just earlier this week after seeing a story about it on 9 news. I really liked it. My dog is overweight and could use this place. I do walk her and all, but the swimming and running about here may be more than anything that I can do. They have some good deals, like 2 hour power plays for $10. The owners have also gone through some extensive kennel training, as you can see with the plaques on the wall upon entrance. Most places I have gone before, they never have had prior kenneling experience, so this is nice for a change. It looks like a really fun place, I especially like the play equipment downstairs.

Pros: nice place for my chubby dog, swims, play yards...

.

I like that the dogs rotate floors here, and do not just stand in the same area the entire time. They have toys and kiddie pools and other things to play with. It seemed like a really fun place for the dogs to be, and they seemed to enjoy themselves. My dog is not a swimmer, but they do have indoor pools for other dogs who are which is nice. A very fun place, good daycare.

I initially brought my dog in for private swims here not too long ago. She has swum before, but seemed nervous at first. The lady doing the swim was great though and even got in the pool with her! She was doing so much better by the end of the session, and it was so much fun to watch. I had heard negative things about this place before, but I can not see anything that people were complaining about. The people were nice and the facilities seemed very clean. I decided to drop my dog off for daycare last week. She got a good report card back, and was very tired when we got home...which I like. This place is awesome, not enough good things to say about it.

I have not been coming here for too long. I used to take my dog to Camp Bow Wow in Aurora, but a move made Canine fitness more convienent. There are some things I like better about this place. For instance they have toys and things for the dogs to do here. They do get crated for two hours during the day. Which is ok I guess since they were crated for four hours a day at CBW. They are open longer too which is nice. I like the play yards that they have and that they rotate them. It is much better than them just sitting around in the same area the entire time. I would recommend this place.

To begin, I came to Canine Fitness and Fun Center about three months ago, and I did not have a good experience. I never actually brought my dog in, I just came in for a tour of the facility. As I toured the facility, the employees were not very welcoming to me. I smiled and they would just kind of frown at me. They did not seem to care that I was there. The facility did not look especially clean either, there was hair all over the ground. I realize with dogs comes a lot of hair, but it should be vacuumed frequently. I also read some really nasty reviews about the place online after my your, so I decided to steer clear from the place. I decided to reconsider the place recently when I saw it on 9 news. They showed the dogs playing with the staff and everything looked really great. I decided to try another try with a tour, as I was still somewhat hesistant after my last experience. This time was much different. The staff was friendly and they were cleaning up inside the pens and outside. Everything looked much cleaner the second time around. I decided to bring my lab here for daycare and swim the next day. I watched the swim from outside the window because I wanted to make sure he was being taken care of. The girl who did his swim was very nice and interactive with him. She kept him in the water and I felt like I got my money's worth. I have taken him a few times since and have really liked it. I like that I can watch him on the computer at work. The only thing I don't like still is that they cage the dogs. I guess I can understand that they need a break, but I still don't especially like it. One good thing though is that you can pay $3 extra for your dog to get a stuffed kong treat while they are down for nap. That makes me happier. I would not have come here a few months ago, but I think the place has made improvements in their staff and overall facility. I would recommend for other people to give it a second try as well.

Pros: Great improvements in staff etiquette, fun place for dogs to be.

Cons: Put dogs in kennels for nap time, but they do this at most places I guess.

I have not ever taken my dog for daycare here, so I can not comment on that. I used to take my dog to Alameda East for therapeutic swims, but I decided to try here to save some money. You can take a dog here for half the cost of one time at Alameda. They do not perform therapy here I should say, so if your dog needs physical therapy stay at Alameda East. I just like to have my dog swim to help with her hip dysplacia. I bring her here for private swims once a week. The people who do her swims seem nice. My dog does not especially like to swim but it is good for her. I like taking her here to save money from Alameda East. But once again, they do not perform therapy here.

Where do I begin? I was referred to Canine Fitness by a cute boutique that apparently knows more about selling food than they do about dog care. My experience was less than impressive. To begin, I checked out the web page and looked at the web cams to find absolutely no one and no dogs anywhere at about 1 in the afternoon. When I toured the facility I found out this is because they are all crated in a basement!
Why would I pay to have this done to my dog?
Then, I noticed the outside was barely shaded hot asphault. There were spots allover that I can only guess was urine. From my view on the web cam I could see someone leaning up against the fence, not really doing anything with the dogs.
The inside wasn't much better. There were flimsy fences inside, a slight musky smell and very unenthusaistic staff leaning against walls looking bored. There was one employee just sitting on some silly looking stairs that lead to no where. I wasn't even sure they were awake.
There were pools, but you have to pay extra to use them and every thing from feeding to giving medication was an upsell.
I come from Atlanta where Royal Paws was my daycare. Perhaps this makes my standards too high, but I have to be honest, I would NEVER leave my dog at this place. My old daycare did not crate dogs, they had a beautiful facility and the people there really seemed like they want to be there. I am very disappointed that I wasted my time looking at this terrible place and I hope I have saved future dog lovers some time as well. If anyone has a GOOD and accurate referral please feel free to contact me here.
Thank you.

I am shocked to read such negative reviews about this place, since it is by far the best I have ever been to! I have visited many of them too without much luck before. I visited the first time after hours. The employees were our spraying the yards with disinfectants, cleaning the pools, and mopping the indoor play areas. So I was very confident that this was a sanitary place to leave my dog. The employees were so nice and helpful too. I was given a tour and a coupon for a free day of daycare for my Katie. I was able to watch Katie play on the web cams on their website, she looked so happy! She came home tired too which made me happy. They have kiddie pools ourdoors, and kongs and other toys for the dogs to play with. The nap room also has a fireplace and they play music for the dogs. This is by far the best doggie daycare in Denver. I have recommended it to everyone I know, and will continue to do so!

I had to write in response of some of these negative reviews of Canine Fitness and Fun Center. I too had been searching for a dog daycare in the Denver area. After visiting to many to count, I knew I found my dog a great place to spend his days. We had been to another daycare just down the street and my dog came out shaking and hiding its head completely overwhelmed and seemed he could not get out the door fast enough. I stopped in Canine Fitness and was greeted immediately by the owner and another staff member. I was given full information on the facility complete with a tour and pricing options. The facility was clean, and very organized with many play rooms (that have rubber floors) to keep the dogs busy. I am not sure if my dog loves to swim, but I love that they have indoor swimming pools and options for 2 hour play times or just swim times.

My husband and I decided to try Canine Fitness the next week on a free day pass that was given to us at the time of our tour. I was a bit leary of leaveing him all day since he apparently had a bad experience previously. I was able to log on to the web cameras anytime and find my dog happy and playful through out the day. I was even told what time he would be swimming so I could watch online. They even told me to feel free to call in and check on my boy during the day and get an update.

The nap room, although it is individual kennels, they are big, clean and have blankets in each one with a fireplace and music playing to give the dogs a much needed break during the long days we need to leave him.

I am very picky about where I leave my dog and I feel safe and comfortable and know that he is in good hands at this facility.

I have been on the search for a daycare and good as Doggie Pause since I moved and this one is not at all good. Being someone with experience in going somewhere really nice it's disappointing to find places that just don't cut it, and this one was a huge disappointment. They have no interest in little dog clients at all. I was told my 20# dog would be playing with over 100# dogs. That is so dangerous.
Then they showed me this basement where my dog would be stuffed into a crate for 2 hours during the day. It was absolutely terrible, something from a nightmare would describe it best. The worst part is the staff. The lady who I first encountered was very mean and talked way too fast, I couldn't understand some of the things she was saying. Then the other 2 workers looked bored. Yes, only 2 workers. I'm not sure if this is because it's difficult to find people to work at that place or because there weren't hardly any dogs there. I completely understand why there were no dogs there, if you saw it you would understand too. Actually, you can see it. They have webcams. Not high quality, by any means. In fact, the pictures refresh so slowly that one second there are dogs to watch and then the next frame they are gone. Simply said, I would never leave my dog at this place. Too many reasons why.
I know I'm picky, but who isn't when it comes to the care of our dogs?

Yes, only 2 workers. I'm not sure if this is because it's difficult to find people to work at that place or because there weren't hardly any dogs there. I completely understand why there were no dogs there, if you saw it you would understand too. Actually, you can see it. They have webcams. Not high quality, by any means. In fact, the pictures refresh so slowly that one second there are dogs to watch and then the next frame they are gone. Simply said, I would never leave my dog at this place. Too many reasons why.
I know I'm picky, but who isn't when it comes to the care of our dogs?

Pros: close to home

Cons: crating dogs - busy street- facility - staff

I read some bad reviews of this place on Citysearch, but I talked to other people and they said they love it. So I decided that I would go in for a tour and check it out. I was a bit weary because we had been going to City Bark LoDo and were spoiled there. However, I was impressed with this place. The employees were so nice. The facility is overall pretty clean and they dogs seem to have fun. I love the fact that they have the option to add swim time to your dog's stay and they offer Power Plays! They people there are very caring and nice. My dog loves to go. They spray the dog's feet with this stuff that helps keep thier paws healthy while playing on the floors. The two things I love most about this place is their hours (open til 8pm) and the fact they give little report cards everyday that talk about what your dog did that day. We will continue going to Canine Fitness and Fun Center as long I work in the area.

Pros: Swimming pools, agility area, report cards

Cons: small outside

I have been taking my dog to Canine Fitness for months and I would not go anywhere else in town. I have 2 energetic labs and they can't wait to go to day camp.

The 2 indoor swimming pools have helped with one's hip problems and the other just to get out his energy in a safe, clean pool. The indoor play areas (complete with agility type of equipment) keeps the dogs interested and playing all day in a supervised playgroup. The web cams are such a bonus, I can always see where my dogs are during the day and know they having a great time.

The staff is amazing - especially the owner. She loves what she does and has an amazing way with her clients (dog and human), I always know my dogs are in the best of hands when I drop them off for a fun filled day.

Very unprofessional, dogs running loose with unsupervised attention by the employees. Employees very curt, and discourteous to all who enter the facility.
i would not advise going to this facility.
