My husband and I had a wonderful dinner at North to celebrate his birthday. After dinner we meet up with friends to have a few drinks at the bar. The bar staff was extremely rude -- when asked to present identification they did not want

Why is it that restaurants have such a hard time hiring good wait staff? NoRTH has been hiring 'hipsters' with bad attitudes and terrible knowledge of food. Why spend your hard-earned money at a place that's going to give you the cold-shoulder and a "better-than-you" attitude? The last time we ate here, our waitress acted like she hated waiting tables. Rude and outright pathetic.

How sad to see this establishment go down the tubes.

HINT: Happy hour is still worth it. The bar staff is great. Go to the bar instead!

Fantastic urban atmosphere - modern/industrial style combined with soft curtains and warm lighting. Enjoyed great service that was efficient without being intrusive.
While not a place to bring the kids, the upbeat energy and fantastic service make for a great date night or special occasion. The food ranged from really good to excellent - the salmon and chicken dishes were excellent while the flank steak was a little on the chewy side. Great flavors and presentation.

During Denver Restaurant Week a couple can enjoy a 3 course meal for 52.80. Well worth it!!

NoRth is a really nice addition to the Cherry Creek area. They have delicous food, great service and a cool atmosphere. We've eaten there 3 times now and we've loved it each time.

My wife and I went into North in Cherry Creek a few nights ago, expecting a nice dinner however it wasn't so nice. We had excellent service our server and staff were prompt and kept our table well maintained however, the food was awlful, highly over salted which leads me to believe that the true taste is being disguised. Our server prompltly had a manager come who introduced himself as Tyson, his overall attitude was extremly pompous and he seemed irritiated with our complaints.

It was 7:30pm on a Friday (tonight, actually). My husband and I had been running errands all day and were in need of sustenance. We first thought "Cherry Cricket" (because of their amazing burgers, and proximity to our location) but the wait was 40 minutes. Deciding to continue to stroll down the street, we ducked in to HAPA Sushi. The wait was 45-50 minutes. Screw that. We were about to leave Cherry Creek North altogether when we saw "NoRTH".. and decided, "what the hell?" and strolled on in.

We were seated immediately at a long bar, across from each other. The ambiance was pleasant without pretentiousness, we were close to the kitchen to observe the action, and were completely taken with Alison, our server. She was friendly, quick to offer suggestions (that were SPOT on) and was even (pay attention, all you waitstaff out there - I was one once myself, you know).. HONEST. She steered us away from dishes she felt we would not enjoy as much, and aided in some of the better food/wine pairings we have had in Denver in the last 6 months.

The Super Tuscan (Gaja) is delicious.. Osso Buco to DIE for.. Herb Crusted Pork was good, but needed a tad of salt. We had a delightful champagne with the Nutella Chocolate Cake - holy smokes. That's all I gotta say.

Bravo, North.

Bravo, Alison.

We WILL be back!!

I originally rated this restaurant as four stars on another review site. The service was good and the food was tasty and elegantly prepared. I decided to do another review after researching the fish I ate there, which is called Escolar. Both myself and my date were slightly queasy after eating there for her birthday dinner a few weeks ago, but thought it was due to eating too much of the fried zucchini appetizer. According to several sites on the internet, Escolar is known as the "Ex-Lax Fish" because of its high content of indigestible wax esters, which cause varying amounts of digestive system discomfort. This has prompted the nations of Japan and Italy to ban the Escolar. I wish that restaurants like North would do the same. ~$24 a plate for a fish which is a known problem is outrageous.

I first went here for 5280 week two years ago and now go often. The food is excellent, one of the best chicken parm dishes I've ever had, and the atmosphere is trendy. Good wine list. Fun part of town.

We went to North on a weekday night and didn't have to wait for a table since it was still early. This place gets really packed though, even on weekday nights by 7 pm or so. Very nice for people watching, the decor is hip and fun, the music is pleasant and not overly loud. The service could have been better - the waiter just didn't really seem interested in us since we weren't ordering expensive drinks, even though we spent a significant amount on dinner itself. The prices are a bit high, and the food could be better. Their fish, however, is excellent. The appetizers/salads could be improved. The bread was dry. The presentation of the food is nice, but we were overall unimpressed with the rest. This is more of a dress up/drinks kind of place and it would be great for that, especially sitting out on the patio in the summer. The location is great but parking is difficult. The restaurant offers valet parking.

I went to North this past weekend with a friend and we had a great experience. I typically try to stay away from Cherry Creek restaurants because I think the people are a bit too stuffy, but will continue to dine at North. I was nervous upon entering because it looked completely packed from the outside. As soon as we opened the doors, we were bombarded with the amazing smells. The hostesses were very friendly. We arrived a little early, so we could have a drink at the bar. The bar was crowded, but we were lucky to find some stools that just opened up. The bartenders were prompt, very friendly, and made great wine recomendations. Once seated at our table, we were immediately impressed with our waiter. He was very knowledgeable and didn't make us feel as though we had to rush through dinner. I think the menu is very diverse and their is something for all tastebuds. I started with the mozzerella and tomatoe salad, which was great. This is a typical item on many menus, but I have to say this was the best I've ever had! I had the tuna for dinner, which was also great. I walked away very happy that I stepped out of my box and this Cherry Creek restaurant. I have a friend in town this weekend and will have to take her to North!

My foodie friends and I arrived for 5280 Restaurant Week. II went with the fresh mozzarella ? nummy! But really can you go wrong with fresh mozzarella? The neat surprise was the olive oil soaked bread I the bowl! All the flavors were really tasty. Second course I went with the strozzapreti ? added chicken! It was really delicious. Good flavors and super filling! I?ll be having lunch for sure! The final course was the Nutella Cake. It was tasty ? but I?m not a huge fan of the flowerless cake ? so? All in all it was a very enjoyable meal. The wait staff was excellent and attentive. The wine suggestions were great and we weren?t rushed even thought it was a Saturday night and we were doing the 5280 menu! Great for wooing the women. It had plentiful seating but wasn't overly loud. The bar was backed at 4:30 on a Saturday.

NoRTH remains one of my top favorite restaurants. I try new places quite often, but I always go back to NoRTH. Their service is impeccable. One waiter (Christian, we just love him!) is so detailed and honest - he's one of the reasons we return. The other reason, is the tasty food. We order the same thing almost every time - zucca Chips, calamari and chicken parm (carb, carb and more carb). All are so wonderful, tasty and never feels like you're eating a vat of oil. It's all fresh! Order the chicken parm and it's perfect for leftovers.

Great food and atmosphere but if you are cheap like me, paid parking can be hard to find depending upon the time of day. This italian restaurant was recommended to me by my elderly parents who just relocated to Denver this summer. I was pleasantly surprised.

I ate at North the other night, my husband and I go there all the time. The food is always amazing, but you have to have reservations and they may not tell you this, but don't ask for a booth unless because you won't get it, unless it's a slow night. We started with the zucca chips and also got a pizza. I had the chicken parm and that is one of my favorites. The only thing that sucked was there was child next to us that was loud and made it hard to enjoy our dinner. who brings a kid out to dinner at a nice place? Don't bring your kids there and it's not a good place for a romantic date. The place has an upbeat atmosphere. The service is great when we have John Tucker! He pays attention to detail and the needs of his guests. We have had a couple of the other servers and they always seem too busy to give good sevice and don't always answer our questions. Ask for John tucker when you make your reservation. The Hostess are delightful! My husbands in love with all of them! Will be back again.

I've been to North on several different occasions, both lunch and dinner, and each time have not only enjoyed myself, but also looked forward to going back. While the first time I ate at North it seemed like I went in the midst of a very busy lunch hour, our server was smiling and knowledgeable (able to answer our questions) despite the hustle in her step and noticeable hurrying around. Our food was delivered surprisingly promptly, though the dining room seemed nearly full. We were not rushed, and were able to enjoy our delicious bruschetta (a different twist from the traditional tomato-topped version - ours had prociutto and creamy cheese) before our main meals arrived. The fish of the day was fresh and vibrant and delicious, and the sandwich my friend ordered savory and looked great on the plate. The dinners I've spent at this restaurant are no different - the scene is trendy, but seemed also family friendly as there were a handful of children around us. Our server talked us through ordering our wine, and the manager even came over to check in with us to see how we were enjoying our choice. The rissotto was cooked to perfection, and my sides of vegetables were just the right portion and flavors. The few bites of my husband's meal I tried (he had the ahi tuna with fresh organic vegetables), I loved.

They do a great job here. Regardless of how contemporary and trendy its interior may appear, North is a fun and welcoming place to be. People watching is great, ambiance is alive, and food leaves a lasting impression that will have you coming back.

I had to go to a company dinner here. It is trendy, overpriced, average food, attractive waitresses/hostesses.

Overall, it's nothing terrible, but nothing great. If you go with low expectations, you won't be let down.

what a pile of cow dung, I have eaten in resaurants all over the world and never have I been this disapointed. I brought my friends and parents out for a night out and thought wse would eat in a sports bar across the road but having seen the plastic containers being wielded out of the kitchen I thought it would be best to get a proper place to eat. After being told it would be a 45 minute wait we thougt we would have a drink in the bar across the road and then head over and check out the bar in North, to my disapointment it was full of pompous idiots. The worst thing was were stuck there for almost two hours waiting for a table without apology. The service was terrible to ay the least, unwelcoming and not to the level expected of a top restaurant in this day and age. The staff seem to lack knowledge, the menu is uninteresting and the whole experience was a complete letdown. I only wish that we had eaten at the Cherry Cricket sports bar across the road.

I have been working in Cherry Creek for six years now and have finally found a place that I want to go to for lunch. I have eaten everywhere in the Creek and North has been the best so far. I go there to sit at the bar and watch the news, I can get out in less then 45min. I bounce back from the meatball sandwich and the tuta la casa salad which is full of Italian meats and cheeses. The bartenders are always friendly and the host knows me by name. One of the best finds in Cherry Creek.

Wow, this place is very trendy. Seemed like it was the hip restaurant to be in on a Friday night. Waitstaff was a little overbearing and the food was pretty decent. Not many interesting choices if you're vegetarian. I ended up with just an angel hair pasta...something I could have made at home. Very crowded and we were seated right by the bar so people we right up against us during our whole meal.

OK, so when I called for a reservation, the hostess gave me hard time that I was calling too late for a reservation on Monday (7/17)night at 7PM. After giving me a hard time, she found a table for us at 6:45. When I arrived, I was seated with a menu in front of me that was filthy. All of the other menus were also dirty at our table of 4. Our waitress rushed us through our entire meal, although the restaurant was only half full. We told her multiple times that we would let her knwo when we were ready to order, but she insisted in making our dining experience a race. I ordered the snapper special. Could have gone to Long John Silvers and had a better ( (and much less expensive meal). The fish was unremarkable and served on a bed of tomato rossotto that was "last weeks salad leftovers" according to a friend who had the same thing. North used to be good, but I think they need a kick int he pants. If it weren't for their location, I think they would be on their way to being just a average to low average restaurant.

I have been living in Denver for 12 years now and finally we have a great Italian restaurant in Cherry Creek. I was skeptical to give it a try at first because I thought it was going to be another trendy spot which lacked quality. However after my first visit I was clearly mistaken. The food is wonderful every dish that I have had has been great. I always eat Italian food and the Bolognese at North is the best I have ever had. The fish special which I eat every time now is always creative and new. As a bonus to the food the service staff is very efficient and friendly. I am always trying new wines and if you invite it they will talk about Italian wines all night clarifying a confusing wine region. Go on a week night or Sunday to avoid the crowds.

We've been to North about 5 times since it opened. The food has gotten consistently worse each time. The pasta was terrible and the main courses were below average. The osso buco had so much going on in flavors we weren't sure what we were eating. The highlight of the night was the salad and appetizer special -- they were very good. North use to have a GREAT wine selection - we were not impressed. The Service was good. We won't be going back for a long time. . .

Where do I begin with North (or nOrth, or norTH or whatever) First off, they didn't have enough chairs for our reservation of 6 so our poor friend had to sit on a patio chair(!) the entire meal while empty tables with empty chairs surrounded us. Our food was not at all memorable. When asked to make us a special drink at the bar our server replied with "We are a restaurant, NOT a bar" Sorry buddy, the 3 bartenders and 50 people huddled around the UNbar tipped us off. Our server was consistently aloof and snotty (we preferred aloof) North, we spent an OBSCENE amount of money at your restaurant and were answered with rudeness. How much would one have to spend to be treated well? I doubt this "concept" will fly for long in Denver.

I can take or leave North (quite the Cherry Creek scene) but every now and again I go there for drinks...but who are these restaurants that block off a half block for their damn valet service?? What kind of major attitude is that? Parking in Cherry Creek is tough enough to find without the little orange pylons blocking off 5 - 7 spots of choice parking - for no reason! I can see one or two car lengths, but North abuses this practice, annoying the non-valet parker, as well as every other person who passes their nose-in-the-air joint. Management at North needs to review this practice - or the City needs to get involved and help them out a bit.

If you like the fabu casual fanciness and crowd at places like Mao, youll probably like this. For me, the food, service and interior seemed to be puttin on big city airs without strong substance underneath. Its what passes for fine dining among a crowd that doesnt know what a leek is but has a leather jacket and a Saab.

We got a great table beside the beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows, my chopped salad was terrific as was my husband's other salad choice. I had the salmon with baked squash & spinach - very good. My dinner companion had a pasta dish and enjoyed it as well. The tiramisu I could take or leave . . . no real lady fingers in it, just more puddinglike. Our waitress was very solicitious and found the answer to a somewhat obscure foodie question we had. Beautiful surroundings - I wish I was seated where I could have watched the bar scene, but everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and their meals.

Pros: Moderately Priced, Great Food, Private Party Room

I was told that North was hottest place in town - but that reservations were nearly impossible. One to never accept the impossible I called for a reservation. The lady that answered the phone was courteous, helpful, knowledgeable and I was able to book a table on the day and time I requested. The food was amazing - seasoned to perfection - the service was perfect. My server John Tucker (I asked for his full name because I was so impressed) made wonderful recomendations that enhanced my meal. The right cocktail with the right appetizer - the right wine with my entree and an amazing port with my dessert. My meal was creative with just the right hint of a suprise for me to remain intrigued. In short it was a memorable experience and I can't wait to go back.

Pros: Service, wine list, menu

I was told that North was the new "hip" spot to eat in Denver. How untrue that recommendation was. The food, especially the Steak Delmonico, was salty and dry. The scene sucked as it was filled with a bunch of wannaby pretentios Cherry Creek snobs. Martinis-weak at best. Go if you want very little value for your dollar and if you want to laugh at a bunch of idiot snobs.

absolutely horrible service, overrated food, and tacky/cheesy people. Avoid at all costs.

All the buzz in Denver is NoRTH so when my friend came to visit we were sure to make this our first stop. Atmosphere was fantastic, crowd was good and service was great. I will never put that food in my mouth again though. It was like they dumped a bucket of salt on my plate. We had 4 appetizers, all terrible, the duck and skirt steak, HORRIBLE! I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone unless you are going for drinks at the bar. Worst meal I have had since I have lived in Denver!

Casual contemporary cuisine awaits you within NoRTH's hip and inviting dining room. We had the Zucca chips as a starter. There's tasty and seem to melt away when placed in your mouth. We also tried the Antipasti. I thought it was a little too small to share with more than two people. They seemed to be out of several menu items and it was only 7:30! I tried the duck. It was very tasty. I also sampled the skirt steak and I thought it was good, but not out-of-this-world. The wine list features mostly Italian wines. Prices are within reason. Service was good. For dessert we tried a decadent Nutella cake and a velvety Vanilla Panacotta. Valet Parking available. Be sure to make reservations.

While my Italian Greyhound Anna, recovering from surgery, did not ravish the steak left overs she simply loved the duck. And I must say it went quite nicely with the Riesling the night before. I assume the pain killers have slightly altered her tastes since the steak was actually divine. Dessert was just as delicious and free since the staff decided it did not meet their visual standards; the taste passed mine. Beyond their aesthetics, the staff were very helpful an delivered a wonderful service. Even the slightly spicier port that was recommended ended up balancing out the rich dessert. Note, I was allowed to sample it before deciding. Anyway, the surroundings were modern and the people fashionable if not a touch loud. Definitely add it to your Mao/Zengo fun list.

This restaurant is hip and happening---a large room with brick walls, exposed steel beams, dark espresso-bean wood floors, and chic furniture in light green suede and white leather. Leggy blondes lunch with friends out on the tiny patio…
