Guy behind the counter didn't want to be there, slow as hell. Fish was cold an mushy. No more steak carne sada (reason we went). Pearl district kinda stuck up, slim parking.

I read a lot of reviews but I never wrote them until now. This isn't a bad place I been here a few times. Just another Taco Del Mar you know what your getting. I was checking out the listings and saw these reviews and the one that says GENUINE REVIEW is right. They put a bunch of their own reviews in March last year and gave themselves 5 stars on all of them. Thats BS! This place is okay but they cheated on the ratings.

I've been coming to TDM here about 2-3 times a month for the last couple of years now. I like it. The food is surprisingly good for a chain place. The specials (like Taco Tuesday) can make it extremely cheap to eat there too.

Despite "huntgathrr"'s assertion I always find the staff very friendly and have gotten to know some of them - like Derek - over time.

Decent & cheap Mexican food, friendly service, nice environment - what's not to like?

My third visit to this shop for a weekday lunch, I noticed a trend. Food quality was up to par, but service wasn't. Staff seems more interested in chatting with buds than serving customers. Waited 10+ minutes for fish to fry.

I've penalized them one star for the preceeding reviews - they've obviously been planted by the owners. SHAME ON YOU!

I am kind of a HEALTH FREEK! And I have always LOVED Taco Del Mar food.
I work across the street from the 9th & Hoyt location. So I would limit myself to once a week splurge. But now that I know that Taco Del Mar is on the
"AMERICA'S TOP 10 HEALTHIEST FAST FOOD CHAINS" listed in Health Magazine (march issue)
I can eat there everyday, with absolutely no guilt! And have many choices to still choose from too! You've got to give it a try... Especially the 9th & Hoyt location, they are very nice and will try and do anything you request!

Taco Del Mar is going GREEN! This franchise has always had great food, but now they have other attractions too! All there containers are BIO- DEGRADEABLE!
I love to support business' who are doing there part to keep our environment clean!
I WILL BE SUPPORTING TACO DEL MAR'S ALL OVER!
They even offer a GREEN/Spinach toritilla :)) haha

I am a huge believer in eating healthy. Now I can eat at my favorite restaurant and know that I am not hurting my waistline. What a neat thing to be in Health Magazine!

This was my first time eating at a Taco Del Mar and I have to say it was pretty darn good! I had a Mondo Burrito and man they are huge! I couldn't even eat it all, I saved the rest for dinner and just wrapped it up with the excess foil for later. It's like 2 meals for $5 dollars!

The NEW OWNER is very nice! The employees here are super friendly, will do any request you need :) Love that! I live about 5 min. from a Taco Del Mar on the east side of Portland, but I will drive over the river to go to 9th & HOYT Taco Del Mar in NW Portland to to eat just because I know the service will be great and the store is always super clean! That always makes me feel good to eat in a clean environment.

Great, fun and friendly atmosphere for families. Our children loved it. The atomosphere really kept there attention and the fun coloring crayons helped too :) The $5 platters were great for my wife and I. Filling and all at a great price!

Living in the Pearl it's hard to find descent deals. This is a very nice, ritzy neighborhood. (that I do love to live in) but right now I just need to save as much as possible. They have awesome deals after 5:00. Perfect for dinner. $5.00 platter and $5.00 Mondo Burritos are huge... so much food for so less $. I love it! You can't find dinner around here for less than $10.00!!! This place is a MUST!

This place has the best fish tacos you will ever bite into!!! Seriously, I am an avid fish taco lover and these fish tacos are #1. Plus, they seem to always be fresh... even if they run out, they'll throw them in the flashbake oven and you'll have fire hot, fresh fish tacos in 5 min. I am a huge fan of HOT SAUCE and when you ask for hot sause here, you get it! Sizzling, eye watering, mouth burning HOT sauce... LOVE IT!

I pretty much order just a chicken burrito here. It's not greasy, heavy or salty like other burritos, service is nice, and the ingredients are decent, if Sysco- or Food Services of America-ish. It's cheap and reasonably healthy fast food... what do you expect? You can't go wrong with a chicken burrito, or probably the tacos. (The corn tortillas have to be steamed really good though or they are rubbery). Having worked at Macheesmo Mo*se (defunct similar local chain) back in the day, I know the best things are the basics, which also happen to be ordered and made more often... thus spending less time in the steam table... i.e. a chicken burrito.

Maybe you're looking for a cheap burrito so you think you'll head over to Taco Del Mar. Don't. It's not worth it. I went in about 8:00 PM on a Friday night. The ground beef was the only meat that didn't have crustified nastiness all over it and the fish looked like fried fishsticks. I went for ground beef. The burrito was just awful. The salsa tasted like "hot" with no flavor. The side of chips came with cheese that tasted like it was straight from the 7-11 nacho container and the chips looked like they came out of a bag. I'm kind of surprised I even ate it but I was hungry and having trouble getting a good meal without reservations. It was raining and I hadn't had a burrito in a while so I took a chance.
