This place is laid back, has good sandwiches and they don't seem to mind if you hang out for a really long time reading.

Excellent service and great food. A must visit spot, emerging neighborhood w/ a great vibe and good people behind the scenes. I come to Portland often on business and make a point to stop and see the evening crew to eat, drink and be merry.

Meals: Well prepared and presented semi-formal for a user friendly approach
Drinks: Uhh.... well, you want it they got it 2x IPA, you got it. Jack and Coke, you got it. Iced Tea, you guessed it.

I've been a regular at Clinton Cafe for years and they only get better! The turkey guacamole sandwich is a favorite of mine. They're always easy going and friendly, great atmosphere. Their sandwiches are terrific and they have a great, ever changing, selection of beer on tap. If you're an IPA lover they've got you covered. They started a "Fish Fry Friday" and if you know what authentic English fish and chips are like, then you should check theirs out! They serve Stumptown coffee...excellent mochas! I love this place!! My girlfriend and I make it a point to get in there every weekend.

Good food, once we got it. for such a small place we expected it would not take 30 minutes to get our food on what seemed like a slow afternoon. The service was erratic; we had three different people inform us that our meal would be delayed, all while sitting at a table that hadn't been cleared of the previous customers detritus. the biscuits and gravy was filling, yet cold, gluey and somewhat stale. My breakfast sandwhich would have been better if it didn't taste like it had been made ahead of time; the english muffins were soggy, like the mayonnaise had soaked into it for several days and the eggs where not cooked to my liking and cold. A cute place in a great location, but it needs staff who don't gossip in hearing of the customers and quicker, more professional service

Went on a Sunday morning...not crowded...ordered a veggie sandwich and my partner ordered a pastrami sandwich...and we waited...and waited...nobody at the counter or the kitchen advised us what was going on...the food finally came...was very good. The portions were not big for the price paid. The best part is the dog who roams outside seeking everyone's attention (and a handout). The owner was very friendly...the lady at the counter was dour.

Good wine list. Good beer list. Nice old school wooden bar with local bands playing on occasion. Sidewalk seating in the summer. Cute coffee shop and tasty desserts. Well priced menu consisting of local produce, all reasonably priced. Friendly staff. All in all, this place is awesome.

I love this place! They have freindly staff and the owners are really nice people. But a must order is the BLT pannini (add avacado) it was the best BLT I have ever had! It was perfectly toasted and good size to share with someone, it also comes with a fresh organic side salad for $6 bucks can't beat that. Oh and they have a good selection of beer and coffee to wash it down.

We had the smoked baby back ribs and a mezze appetizer plate. The BBQ ribs were great--truly smoky, tender and moist! Inexpensive ($6.50) and a manageable portion of about six small ribs, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw. All delicious. The mezze ($7.00) was less exciting, but solid. The feta cheese would have been better as slices, in my opinion, rather than the feta "dip" as it was presented. Anyway. This is a cute place, and they had great reggae music, the place was full with a happy vibe down in a cute neighborhood of Portland. I'll be back.

Pros: pleasantly unexpected menu items like BBQ, free wifi/computers, great food

Cons: might be too hippy for some

I live in Eugene Oregon and found this little place on my way home the last time I was in Portland. I am happy to report that I have successfully made it twice through every item on the menu... the food is addictive!!

Pros: Best soup ever!, Best sandwiches ever!

Cons: Driving 108 miles

Mmmm....the best chicken noodle soup in the world, just like mom used to make. Tender chunks of chicken and veggies as well as the home-made stock make this soup a mouth-watering treat.
Oh, yeah, try their tuna melt too. I can assure you, it's the best one you've ever had.
