When it gets busy, they don't have enough staff on hand to keep the place looking sanitary. Tables/floors are dirty. The salsa is regularly all out.

Pros: Amazing food for a good price

Cons: Deplorable Bathroom. Cleanliness

.

Very affordable prices, nothing fancy, but a good lunch without paying too much. Kids like the food here too.

I like Pepino's! Compared to burrito places like Cha!Cha!Cha! and Por Que No, I'd say it's just as good if not better, and WAY more affordable!

We love Pepino's fish tacos. They're fresh and clean tasting with nice chopped cabbage and a spicy dressing.

While it's not the cleanest restaurant in town, the line is there for a reason. I love, love the fish tacos here, and the chips and salsa. They move people along quickly and grill the food right there in front of you. Pepino's makes it hard for me to try the other restaurants on the Ave because it's good, and it's easy.

I first went to Pepino's for lunch on a Friday. I was shocked at how cheap my lunch was (7 bucks for drink and a combo meal! that is unheard of in most areas), how much food they served you (I could barely finish the two chicken tacos),

Pros: good prices, large servings, varied selection

Cons: no places closer to where I live, hard to find a parking spo

.

Anytime I'm in Portland, I take a friend here and they all keep coming back after they try the sweet tequila tofu burrito. Literally every single time. I think that put magic in the delicious thing.

Pros: Sweet tequila tofu(or chicken) burrito

Cons: prices go up alot

This place is great. You can watch them make your food because the food prep area is out in front. The salsa bar is generous and fresh. The chicken is always roasting on roasting spits where you can see them and the portions are HUGE!!!!

Pros: Huge portions, fast, fresh

Cons: Nw 23rd parking. Sometimes not easy.

Awesome Place. One of THE best places I have been to. I too have been a customer for over 3 years and have taken many friends to both locations. 9 out of 10 people love this place and come back for more. One of the main reasons I like

Pros: Great people, Seating, Price, and I see the customers HAPPY.

Cons: small parking lot.

"Authentic" Mexican food is boring to my palate. I LOVE the Sweet Tequila burrito that Pepinos offers. And I too have been a client since the Una Mas days. Enough of the faux "critic"; this is great Mexican food!

I am not about to defend Pepino's as a "great" Mexican restaurant, nor authentic. When we want to "go out for Mexican," Pepino's is not on our list. You want real Mexican food? Go to the wonderful carts downtown. However, if you want

Nothing there is spicy at all, not even their hottest of hot sauces. It kind of defeats the purpose of eating Mexican food when it's not hot at all. I suppose if you are recovering from a stomach ulcer it would be okay.

Cons: their food

Not bad, but not great, either. The chips and salsa were quite good, but the vegetarian burrito I had was a bit on the bland side (as was the service, but maybe she was just having an off day).

It's prices are really good, especially for the pricey neighborhood it's in.

Una Mas is worth trying, but perhaps not returning to.

One great big burrito for a very low price! The El Cheapo is the way to go: a standard vegetarian burrito with beans, rice, and salsa. When the chips are fresh, they make a great side with the wonderful medium salsa at the salsa bar! On the weekends, Una Mas has great drink specials (Sol and Sauza Diablo for only .99 cents!). I highly suggest choosing this establishment over the Tacqueria across the street. The food is better, the service is better, and the prices are unbeatable. The front room provides a good people-watching experience, while the back room is more welcoming for a group.

Now here is the place to go for a tasty burrito! Good prices, interesting menu, great flavors. This is now a regular stop for us when we're in the area.
