There are a couple of girls working behind the desk that are really rude. They make me so uncomfortable, I avoid going. A gym should be a warm, friendly, inviting place, especially at the reception desk. For some people, going to the gym is a big and scary step, you know? Sometimes there are guys working at the front, and they're nice. The trainers (except for one guy...) are very friendly, the sales manager (can't remember her name) is very nice. Oh, and the exercise class instructors are awesome and very helpful when you ask them for tips after class. I'm going to give it two stars because the girls up front are that bad (I've been going to gyms for 10 years now, and these girls are just awful).

Personnel are rude and make you feel like they doing you a favor vs. the customer is always right type of experience... For the membership price, a simple "good morning" might be nice and a "oh you've brought a guest, let me see what we can to help you" attitude vs the "here is a list of reasons why you CAN'T come in" kind of attitude might be a bit more pleasant. The facilities ARE clean and spectacular. Hence a two rating. Outside of that the staff are not friendly, 50% of the instructors un-enthusiastic, classes are only scheduled around times convenient to the 'stay at home mom' and any of the extra training programs available will only help you to loose weight b/c the avg person won't be able to afford dinner when they're done. Additionally, programs not military friendly- the FT Hood military have access to gym facilities on post where it is most accessible for time a work schedules, but if they want to access the programs such as specific cardio classes or triathlon training offered by Golds they are required to commit to a full year membership at a full price... on would think that in today's economy you make exceptions to support the people that make up the community that support your business... and oh yeah provides you with the freedom to do what you do... If you're looking for membership take your business elsewhere... there a tons of gyms in the area... and most will give you a few days pass to try them out b/f committing!
