Spencer Malay Hair

Spencer and his staff have always bent over backwards to accommodate for my particular likes and are very conscious about trying to make me comfortable. They remember things from my previous visit and the interactions feel very personal. Most of all, Spencer listens very carefully to what I want in my next haircut and has always given me the haircut I have asked for! How many times have you gone to the stylist, brought photos, described what you want, and then walked out with a haircut that is nothing like what you asked for? That will never happen with Spencer! Each time I've seen him, I've asked for a slightly different haircut, and he gets it! I have never had such confidence in a stylist before!

My first time visiting this salon was a great experience! They treated me as if they knew me from childhood. The service was great and I am very pleased with my haircut. I was looking for a salon close to home, and now I found it.

This is a great place. Spencer is truly a hair artist; he just knows what looks good on you. Also, the head and neck massage you get here while you are having your hair washed is unbelievable.

I love Spencer Malay Hair! I cannot say enough good things about this salon. I was referred by a friend about a year and a half ago. From the first day, I was hooked!

Be sure to get your hair washed by Elizabeth or Viola, and be prepared for an amazing cut by Spencer. They will make you feel like the most special person in the world every time you walk in there.

It's very easy to schedule appointments via email if you are super busy, so that is a great perk as well. They also have in house nails and makeup.

Spencer truly loves hair and is passionate about making sure you look your best. I have referred countless friends to his salon, and 100% of them have become regular clients who are just as addicted to the great service and quality as I am.

I went to Viola for a re-do from a dreadful haircut from another salon. From the initial consult on the phone I knew that I was going to be pleased with their approach. She really listened to me to understand what I wanted and gave many ideas/suggestions before she began cutting. (but let me not forget to mention the BEST shampoo and massage from Elizabeth). The place is comfortable and not at all Buckhead snooty. Viola is an artist in her craft. She cut my hair ( a modified bob) to work with my texture and created a unique style. I will definitely be back for many more cuts and color. I highly recommend -- and may I add that I am VERY picky with my stylists. You won't be disappointed -- and the fees are very reasonable.

From the time you walk in the door, you know you are in a place of style. Viola is my stylist and colorist and she ROCKS. Toni does my makeup and she is the BOMB. Elizabeth gives the best neck massages when she washes my hair. I LOVE HER! Spencer has done an amazing job with this salon and I give him kudos. They are the best in Atlanta.

The moment I walked into the salon I was welcomed into a warm and friendly environment. I felt at ease. I didn't even have to wait, and they took me right away. Viola was great. She discussed what I wanted to do with my hair and gave me some suggestions that would look great with my face structure. The shampoo was amazing too. They massaged my scalp as they were washing it and it felt great.... The entire time I was in the cheer, Viola discussed different ways I could wear my hair and actually took the time out to show me different styles. The way Viola and I talked made me feel very comfortable to be there... like Id known her for years. Her uncle, Spencer was also a great help. He discussed different styles too and talked about improving hair care. The hair care products are terrific and made my hair look shiny and very smooth. I would recommend this hair salon to anyone, including family and friends. The service was AMAZING!!! Great job... I LOVE it!

As you enter you are greeted warmly and promptly. The salon's environment is cheerful and invokes the customers to relax. Spencer is always professional, courteous and friendly. He listens to what you are seeking and makes recommendations based on your hair, your look and your facial features. He is gifted and the entire staff is fabulous!

After trying what felt like ALL salons in town, I discovered Spencer Malay. I am extremely picky with my hairstyle and color, but from the very first time I walked into the salon the experience was amazing and I felt at ease with the staff and trusted Spencer, Viola and their team to do a great job on my hair. I absolutely love that at Spencer Malay I can get my cut, color, massage, nails and make-up all done at once in a beautiful setting. I have also started using their haircare products and have noticed a tremendous difference on how smooth and shiny my hair is. Viola, who cuts and colors my hair, has given me the most beautiful highlights I have EVER had. No small achievement since I have been highlighting my hair for about 15 years. i constantly get compliments on my color and cut and have recommended MANY friends and co-workers to this salon. Even my husband, who usually has the philosophy that 'any salon will do' has started going to Spencer Malay and has really liked his new hairstyle. I believe what set this salon apart from all the others is that they have great skills but MOST importantly - a staff that truly cares about their customers. I highly recommend this salon!

I have been going to Spencer Malay Hair for almost a year now. Since I have been going there, I constantly have people comment on how much they like my hair and I always refer them to Spencer. Not only do you get a great cut at Spencer's but the service is second-to-none. From the moment you walk in the door the staff makes you feel at home and like you are "part of the family". They are very accommodating and always make you feel comfortable by asking if you want anything to drink, they have little goodies to munch on, and best of all, the first 15 minutes of your appointment is spent at the shampoo bowl getting a head and neck massage. How awesome is that!!! I never feel rushed when I'm there or that the atmosphere is stuffy. It is an absolute pleasure going to get my hair done at Spencer's. The experience is so fantastic that a great haircut is just a bonus.

Ok. So I have had dark brown hair my whole life. For YEARS I wanted to try a new blonde look. Everyone always told me I could never pull off being blond because of my complexion. well about 4 months ago I put it on my bucket list and started hunting for the perfect salon. Then i met Viola. She talked me through the whole process and made me feel really comfortable with my decision. I finally went in and went blonde and I LOVE it! I dont think anyone else could have done my hair and actually pulled off turning me into a blonde. Viola balanced the color and highlights so perfectly! The crazy thing is, when people meet me they actually say it looks really natural. Which is crazy since for so long i was told i could never pull off blonde. She did such a great job combinining the different highlights and base colors! Then the cut she gave me to flaunt my new color was amazing! my boyfriend was stunned! My boyfriend said the best thing was that within a few hours she managed to totally capture my personality in a color and cut. I meet people now, that say they couldnt imagine me as a brunette. Thtas how well she manages to maintain my drastic change. And all those people that said i couldnt pull off being blonde....yea....they were stunned. I couldn't imagine having my hair done with anyone else. I love lookin at other blondes and thinkin to myself "my blonde looks so much better than yours" haha.....I couldnt imagine having another stylist. Thank you VIOLA!!!!

I started going to Spencer 3 years ago and I have to say he is the best in HOTLANTA! I have toured every salon in Atlanta and NO ONE can touch his expertise. I am so happy with every visit! The staff and environment are low key and relaxed. I NEVER have to wait for my appointment to get started which is so nice since I am usually paying for a sitter while getting my hair colored and cut! I highly recommend Spencer Malay Salon!!

Spencer, and his staff, are true artists! Been going to Spencer since the Spring of 2000, and he is amazing. He is pleasant, talented, and a joy to be around, and I am always so excited when it's time for my appointment. And there is not another salon that I've ever been to that gives you a neck/head/temple massage like these guys do. He trains his people to make sure you melt when you are in the hair bowl getting your hair washed. He's my guy!

Pros: Head/temple/neck massage during hair wash is worth an out-of-stater to make an appt.

Spencer?s been doing my hair for more than decade and I can attest that he never goes wrong. He always listens to what I want but would also consistently incorporate his style making it the best hair style and color for me. My entire family goes to him and as long as the salon exists, I?m sure I will let him and his staff takes care of my daughter?s hair. Not to mention, the staff are excellent, customer oriented and are very personable.

Spencer and his entire staff are fantastic. The personalities all mesh and they are all ultra professional. Spencer has a true "gift" in his ability to work with all types of hair and has a gift for applying color. I should know with my natural thick curls. I have spent years looking for someone who was professional enough and had the knowledge of how to work with curls. Spencer has the patience to show you different techniques and styles for you to work on your own hair as well. He treats every customer as if they are the ownly customer. The entire staff is the same. I highly recommend this salon.

I have been going to Spencer Malay for over 5 years. In fact my entirely family goes to Spencer. Not only is the entire staff personable and professional but it feels like you are visiting a close friend or relative. The service is second to none and he styles your hair exactly how you want it. He listens and continues to check and see whether it is to your satisfaction. Not to mention there is also nail and massage services which are to die for!

In addition, you are completely pampered each and every time you walk in the door. A very clean, friendly, and personable place that feels more home than a beauty salon. One visit and you will never go anywhere else.

Spencer Malay is an incredible salon with a "small town" feel in a large city. The stylists are very professional and attentive, catering to your individual needs. You are pampered upon entering their door, from being offered something to drink to handing you a blanket to warm you up from the chilly outdoors during the winter months. The stylists provide wonderful massages while shampooing your hair! I have been a customer at Spencer Malay for one year, and my hair looks the best it has ever looked! I highly recommend this salon.

I have been going to Spencer for 6 years, it's a record for me. I'm very picky and never dissappointed. Spencer listens to my wants and needs, and he's honest if it's a cut or color that might not suit me. I always leave happy and feeling great. His staff is warm and welcoming, no attitudes or pushy sales and the salon is clean and modern. Highly recommend!!

I can't say enough about the Spencer Malay salon. I have the BEST haircut and color of my life (no small statement, as I'm 51 and particular about my hair.) The service is incredible: they listen to my wants and needs, consider my hair type, facial shape, even my lifestyle, then use their considerable expertise to suggest the best style. I am thrilled each time I go. In addition, everyone is warm and friendly--no snooty stylists with attitude trying to intimidate. I also use their products, and my hair is healthier than it's been in years. Don't miss having a massage--it's wonderful!

The salon itself is very inviting, and in talking with other clients, I find they have all been coming here for years and feel the same--that we've discovered a real gem--the best of the best in Atlanta.

All this and lots of free parking? Wow!
