Agree with other reviews - great location, lovely staff, small but stylish rooms. Breakfast is worth staying in the hotel - decent selection and the breakfasts are awesome.

My family comes into the Village Inn on McKellips and Recker very often during several different time frames. We have found Linda, a manager, to be very obnoxious and loud. Even though there were not many guests in the restaurant, I found her to be quite unprofessional. She was sitting in a booth, eating food with guests (one of which was in Village Inn attire but seemed to be off the clock), and their conversation and laughter was so loud that I could hear their discussion from across the restaurant. At one point, she proceeded to yell across the restaurant to another employee, complaining to them that a female employee did not clock out correctly. She also was very loud when discussing employees needing to leave before receiving any overtime. The employees seemed to feel stressed and rushed to get the restaurant cleaned before Linda came back to them again. Linda seems to have a very dictatorship style of managing instead of being helpful and understanding. At the end of her shift, she was out the door so quickly despite the fact that there was a table of 15 making the staff run around trying to keep up.

Normally when we come into the restaurant we are pleased to see a few employees that are on staff. Those of which are Steve (manager), Trevor, and Jordan. They have always been friendly, attentive, and gracious during every one of our visits. We are usually in the restaurant for long periods of time and each of these staff members have been awesome to let us take our time. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone when these employees are on staff; however, I fear sending out recommendations and Linda be in the restaurant at that time. I feel that she takes away the 'home feel' that Village Inn likes to portray.

Considering I have taken the time out to write this review, I do hope that it is at least acknowledged by Doug England (the GM) and changes be made. Having worked in the restaurant business myself for many, many years, I have seen how one 'weed' can ruin the entire staff and reputation of a good restaurant.

I go into this Village Inn several times a week, nights and days. I have found Linda and all the people there a pleasure to see. Linda and all her employees are friendly and really know what customer service is. My wife is in a wheel chair and Linda is always there to open the door for us and greet us like a friend. We have had mistakes happen, very few, but Linda is right to fix anything. Linda and her people are why we visit this location.

Manager Linda there is a complete b i t c h. Food is the average Village Inn food, but when asked how your food was or if everything was ok when paying, when you do complain nothing is done about it. Linda the manager that was there on two occasions has no idea about customer service!
