This is the only hair salon I've gone to since I lived here. I moved here for my first 'real' job and felt I needed a professional look. Ania cut my hair into a gorgeous bob that looked great up unti the next hair cut she gave me. I gave her a strange request on this one: a haircut for long hair. Even though my hair wasn't grown out as much as I had wanted, I just wanted her to help establish a shape for its future length. Its grown out a good bit and looks fabulous. This review is overdue, but I'll be going back again and asking for Ania soon. I've never had a favorite stylist in a place I enjoy going to, therefore making Estee Salon a real treat. Looking forward to my glass of wine!

A few weeks ago, I went to eSTee salon for a first time. I was scared to take chance and try a new hairstylist. My hairdresser Ania Mach was very friendly and professional. She not helped me get the best style for my hair type but also gave me style tips and help with care. I ended up with an incredible new style that is much easier to manage at home. I have also never had so many compliments before now. I love my new look!

Annie is the best hair stylist. She took my badly damaged hair to it new shinny and healthy state. My hair continues to grow longer and thicker by the week. Both my mother and I swear by Annie. I have been a customer of Estee Salon since its creation. Samina, owner has been my stylist for over 7 years now. What I love most about the service I receive at the salon is the fact that I don't feel rushed. I am given more than adequate time to discuss my desired outcome. However, I feel very confident telling Samina "do what you want, just make it fun and sassy." She takes great direction. I never see anyone in the area with the same cut!! (very important to me) All of the stylists are very experienced and up to date on the latest fashions. I reccommend Estee Salon to all of my friends. IF you haven't tried the eyebrow threading, it is a MUST. You will never use wax again!!

I've lived in Raleigh 20 years and have been to many hair stylists. I'll never go to anyone else again. I put my trust in Ania to totally changed my hair color. I've always been a brunette and I left with fabulous blonde highlights! I love it and so does everyone else.
Also, my 19 year old will not let anyone but Ania cut her hair! Believe it Ania is the BEST!

Getting your hair cut is personal - amd makes people anxious. My daughter just had hers cut but Tanea and it looks great!! SHe did a perfect cut and had fun along the way. Its hard to please a 15 year old - but Tanea did. She also does prom hair and make up when the time comes!!! We will be seeing MORE of Tanea!

I have thick, wavy, and somewhat frizzy hair. I've always had trouble finding someone who can cut my hair well. After reading the reviews on Citysearch, I made an appt. with Tanea. She really knows what she's doing. I get great haircuts from her consistently. I even get compliments from strangers too!

I have been getting my hair down by Krysti for 2 years now. Shes the best noboy else will ever do my hair again. i love going into eSTee also, everybody there is so friendly and outgoing. Komal does my threading as well and she does a great job too! Everything about eSTee is great and theres absolutely nothing bad that I have ever seen or known in everytime Ive ever been...all Ive ever seen was happy clients coming and going!!

I have been a client of Estee Salon for many years now even before being a bride. I have seen Samina transform and take ownership of her salon and make it a thriving business. She and all the ladies in her salon are very talented and trustworthy.

In 2004, I went to Bridal show in Raleigh where I saw her familiar face on the sidelines of a Hair, Beauty, and Fashion show. I was so excited to see her. She had told me that she had done the hair (and makeup too I believe) of many if not all of the models in the show. Right then and there I knew I was going to have her do my hair for my special day To me, there was no other choice that could even come close.

2 months before my wedding date I had switch the date and time of the ceremony. I needed her and she came through for me, even though her salon was closed (it was in the evening). She open up her own home to me and my sister so my day would not be ruined. If anyone had a reason to be edgy or moody about wanting things to be perfect it was me. I did exactly what she said and had pictures of what I wanted my hair to look like and she duplicated the look exactly.

I currently use her salon for various esthetic purposes, mainly eye brow threading. Both her and Komal (I know I spelled her name wrong, I'm sorry) are awesome with their own personal techniques.

This takes me to my most recent exceptional experience with Estee Salon. I got married a 2nd time this past April (to the man of my dreams, love him bunches). And of course I didn't even hesitate for a moment before I called up Samina and told her the great news and that I needed her salon's services again. She was ecstatic. This time it was a grander scale. I needed her for hair and makeup for not only the wedding day, but also for a trial run and also for my Bridal portraits. I also wanted her Salon to do all my bridal party of which there were 5 ladies and 2 flower girls. I followed her directions just as before. I searched the Web and found several pictures of ideas for hair and makeup and between herself and a couple others ladies that work at Estee, we developed the perfect look for me and my party. I signed her contract (which was simple and not confusing). All the details were noted for both of us. I knew there would be a need for more then one person from her salon to make this happen so that detail was also stated in the contract.

Samina and Komal both worked on my makeup together for each event as they both new their own strengths and weaknesses in their application styles. This was fine by me. On my wedding day they delivered outstanding results. My look was perfect, beautiful, feminine, stunning, I could go on and on. Each of the ladies in my party had a look that fit their personalities. Each one was different and awesome! I think she had 4 ladies from Estee with her that morning on location where my ceremony was.

I have recommended her and her team many times over again and still will. Samina and her team are First Class and I've never regretted my decision for a moment for choosing them to make my wedding dreams come true.

This is for all the brides out there, I'll try to make it short.

I went to eSTee Salon to have my hair and makeup done for my wedding day. It all began with a trial run for my hair (two weeks before the big day) to figure out what I wanted. I took a bag of about five different combs, clips, and headbands and told the owner, Samina, "Do what you feel would be best." She looked at everything and ended up choosing what I liked best, and my hair was beautiful. She couldn't have done a better job, and definitely knew her stuff regarding my hair type, framing my face, etc. I was very pleased.

I have never had my eyebrows done, so ES was my first. I thought they did a wonderful job. I was in and out in five minutes. Loved my eyebrows.

Then the big day came. She agreed to come 30 min before the salon opened for me so that I could get to my destination on time. It would have been helpful had she not been 20 min late.

She did my makeup, and it was beautiful as well. I loved it all. She offered to give me some backup lip color so I could touch it up later on in the day. This is where things went downhill. She didn't remember what I wanted to do with my hair (despite the trial run, money down the drain). I had to explain everything again. What really didn't sit well with me was when she said in these exact words "Let's change things up a little bit." On my wedding day, I don't want things 'changed up a little bit.' To make a long story short, despite reminders of what I wanted, I ended up taking everything down that she did (which was not what I had asked for, I wanted a simple half up half down job, what I got was similar to a celtic knot on the top of my head) once I got to the wedding site, and I got there 45 min late.

I was expecting her to know on the day of what I had asked for, and NOT to change things at the last minute. I expected her to be on time as well.

I have been in Raleigh for 8 years, switching hair stylists often. My girlfriend recommended Samina, and off I went a year ago. Samina is extremely talented- about brilliant when it comes to figuring out with me the *right* color for my hair and cut. With thin hair, and blonde at at that, I have had a difficult time finding someone who would not go off on their own to do what they just thought was best. In fact, my first visit Samina studied my hair for a few minutes concentrating on how she could bring it back from the condition another hair stylist had caused. I was beyond frustration with my hair before I got there, and by the end of the color/cut was so relieved that I loved the color/cut and felt like I looked like a professional again.

What impressed me the most was Samina's professionalism, quick-witted personality, and ability to make me feel like she had known me for years on my very first visit. I have been back over the last year more than a few times. She and her staff are always welcoming, and all-around "good people".

From the look around the salon, I have seen a lot of great styles and colors leave the salon. And, the brides that have been there have seemed so excited and thrilled with their updos, etc.. In fact, I was just joking to Samina about doing mine when I get there.

I have been to several of the popular salons in the area (Salon Blu, Douglas Carroll Salon, Salon Kroma) and I have never had a haircut/color as amazing as the one I received from Ania. She took the time to listen to what I wanted and talked with me about the condition of my hair and what would work best with the texture (very fine). I had intended to just go in for a cut, but she suggested a color treatment that would bring the life back into my dull dry hair, and I'm so glad I listened to her. My hair looks fantastic! It has body and shine and the cut is exactly what I wanted. I've received so many compliments and I can't thank Ania enough for the excellent job she did. I will definitely return to her in the future.

This is a great place, the price is affordable, all the employees are helpful and polite and Kristi is great!

I love getting my hair cut by her! she is funny and makes the experience very entertaining! Especially if you get color in your hair you dont want to be sitting there for a couple of hours bored! she always has funny things to say and she keeps things interesting!!

I have been going to Von Kekel for years. In this economy, it has become impossible for me to continue to pay their ASTRONOMICAL prices.
I recently purchased a discount offer from Estee, which gave me several services at a great price.
I had my first Estee appointment with Krysti on 04/18/09. She was extremely professional, had extensive product knowledge, and was a pleasure to talk with.
After only about an hour and 20 minutes, (it usually took Von Kekel 3 hours) Krysti completely transformed my hair. I honestly can't remember the last time that my hair has looked so wonderful. She also took extra time to show me just the right way to style it, instead of rushing me to the front desk.
I was very impressed with Krysti, and the friendliness of the enitre staff. I would encourage all who are tired of being overcharged at Snotty Salons to give Estee a try. They are AWESOME!

I love going to this salon. My girlfriend turned me on to one particular hairstylist named Tanaua. She's fabulous and always gives agreat cut while being both friendly and professional.

As for the salon, all the ladies are very nice and the salon is set up perfectly. I very much recommend Estee Salon and especially Tanaua.

Krysti has been doing my hair for about a year now. Everytime I leave I have no complaints on how my hair looks and get lots of compliments. I can go to her over and over again and get the same look when I leave. I have been to many different salons and when the same person cutts my hair it comes out different every time. She gives you what you ask for. The people at Estee Salon are very welcoming and friendly. When you leave the salon you really feel important. I highly recommend Krysti for male or female.

I love Tanaua! She cuts my hair and all my friend's hair and our mom's! Tanaua has a special talent for amazing short cuts! All my friends have short hair and all thier cuts are unique and designed to fit their personal features; NO COOKIE CUTTER HAIRCUTS!!
I on the other hand have long boring hair, I don't color my hair, and I am always growing it. Tanaua knows how to keep my look fresh and without me having to cut my hair shorter than I want!! I think we should just be glad Tanaua is still here and not some celebrities personal stylist!

I've been back three times now and Tanaua has done a wonderful job with my hair every time. The first time, she even cut my hair dry. My dad said it's the best my hair has ever looked and dad has never said ANYTHING about my hair! Tanaua does a great job with color too. I've tried a different color every time and it always looks good. My hair's also very thin and this is the thickest it's ever looked.

I got recommended to this salon by a friend of mine so I called in to set up an appointment for a haircut with Samina. This was definately the best hair cut I've gotten in the longest time! Samina is an amazing hair stylist. She simply knows what will look the best! iI absolutely love my new haircut! Not only did I get amazing hair out of this, I also got beautiful eyebrows. I've had some bad experiences with my hair and eyebrows in the past but now i've finally found a place that knows how to style my hair AND do my eyebrows right. I absolutely love it! I had a consultation with Annie. Went back the next week. Annie did my hair andI loved it. She also took time to tell me about my hair needs and to make sure she did my hair the way I wanted. I had been going downtown to the same place since I moved here but got tired of overpaying and leaving the salon less than thrilled with my hair. Then I found Tanaua. I've been going to Tanaua for about a year now. Tanaua never fails to give you an honest opinion of what style/color would suit you - and your hair looks fabulous! And she is firecracker to boot!! So fun...you can't help but love her. I highly recommend Tanaua - she gives great personal recommendations for your hair, a great cut and color - and she'll have you laughing the whole time!

I was completely sick of my hair and I wanted to do something different. A friend of mine recommended me to eSTee Salon. I got my hair cut from Samina there and after the amazing job that Samina did, I won't let any one else touch my hair! She is a complete natural! She will know what to do with your hair and you will love it! Unlike many other salons, this one is completely proffesional and affordable. You get your money's worth and so much more!! I absolutely love it and now i don't go to anyone else because no one else does as good of a job as Samina. Not only does she do an amazing job at haircuts, but she does an amazing job at eyebrows! I've tried to go to other places for my eyebrows and they've pretty much messed them up. I always come back to Samina because she's the only one that knows how to do them the right way. Last week i made an appointment at eSTee salon for a highlight, color, and haircut. I was really happy with the owner, Samina Tayebali. She is so sweet and talented, and she gave me a hair cut that softened my facial features. It was just perfect for my face. I was really happy with the rich color and there were the perfect amount of subtle highlights. I've had tons of compliments from my friends and family. I've even had people on the street ask me who did my hair. Its so exciting! The staff is incredibly friendly and they offered me wine.The salon is so adorable and it sets a warm and friendly atmosphere. I will DEFINITELY be going back soon. Not too long ago, I had a terrible haircut at another salon. I called eSTee salon to make an appointment and get it fixed. My stylist, Samina did a wonderful job fixing it. It turned out exactly as I wanted it to be. She even showed me how to style it myself! She also did my eyebrows by threading. A wonderful technique. Beautiful arch. My eyebrows looks clean and have a GREAT shape. They're finally even! Before Samina, I couldn't find a person to do it right, always messing them up. But Samina, she sure is something else. Very talented. I am never getting my eyebrows waxed again. I'm seeing her again next week for my color. I've never been happier with my looks until now. I really would recommend Samina. I can tell you, she know what she's doing.

I'm very happy with my haircut. I had a big shag/mess on my head when I went in and I came out with my hair done the way I wanted. Styled to my own likings and they were very helpful in getting my hair in the right direction. I'm happy with it, and they are very nice hair stylists. I moved to NC a couple of years ago. I had been having my nails done for about 15 years prior to moving here. Since I have been here, I have probably gone to 8-10 nail salons trying to find someone who could do my nails like I am used to. On a recommendation from a co-worker she had told me about Estee Salon, because she had her hair done there. I made an appointment to see Annie for a cut, who by the way does an awesome hair cut.

After reading the services that Estee provides, I made an appointment to have my nails done by Jomary. I could not believe that after all this time, I finally found someone who actually took the time to ask me what I wanted for nails. Well after 3 weeks I went back to have a fill, and I could not believe the shape that my nails were in. If it weren't for the fact that I wanted a polish change, I believe I could have gone another week to week and a half before having to have a fill.

I am so happy that I have found Estee Salon for all of my needs. I would highly recommend that, if you want to have great looking nails, give Jomary a call. She's awesome.

I contacted the owner, Samina, after my stylist refused to fix my hair on my wedding day because she doesn't work Saturdays... even the occasional Saturday... for an hour. My consultation with Samina was great. She has lots of great ideas, takes into consideration your personal style and characteristics when thinking about style, and obviously really enjoys and takes great pride in her work. I've had my hair colored and cut and my eyebrows threaded at eSTee and have been more than satisfied. I would definitely recommend this salon, and especially Samina!

Like most of my friends, I've been seeking a good, consistent salon for years. About a year ago, I went to someone who seriously damaged my hair with highlights, making them worse every time I went. I then went to someone else who did more damage and gave me a very poor cut. I went to Samina several months ago, and she has been able to get my hair back to its natural color and has given me a good cut and helped me get all the damaged hair grown out. In addition, her eyebrow threading skills are superior. She picked color with me and explained her intentions before starting. Furthermore, her salon is spotless, everyone is friendly and professional, and she has a darling personality. I've been 3 or 4 times now for hair services, and my hair looks better each time. In addition, Samina and her staff are by far the most level headed, even tempered people I have met in a Salon. I've been exposed to more than my share of drama in Raleigh Salons, and sometimes it has been obvious that emotional days for the stylist translate to bad hair for the client; this is one of only two salons I've visited in Raleigh where everyone seems emotionally stable. Visits to Estee are pleasant. A final note-Samina is very organized and works quickly, and she doesn't book a bunch of appointments that she can't keep up with, nor does she let color sit on her clients' hair beyond the point that it is actually doing anything. I'm in and out faster than any other Salon I've visited. Location is good too: there's a dollar store, several restaurants, what more could I want. I'm happy.

WOW! This is one of the best places ever! I have gone to so many places to get my hair done and the only one that has satisfied all of my needs has been Estee Salon. JoeMary is the best...I don't even have to tell her what I want she tells me what would look nice and what wouldn't. She is very respectful and friendly. I love how she works. Me and my daughter moved to Raleigh about 2 yrs ago. Before that we had went to a regular stylist. I move here and go to different ones and hate all of them and how they cut my hair. Just happen to drop in and see if me and my daughter could get our hair cuts without a appointment. They fit us in and I love how nice the place was and how nice the people are. Then Ania was the one that cut our hair. I loved my daughters and my own. She took up alot of time with us and never rushed. Thanks Ania for the fantastic job. My wife and I have been going to Estee salon since it opened. We absolutely love going here. Samina does a great job cutting and styling our hair. I especially like the head massage she gives when shampooing my hair. My wife also has her eyebrows waxed and threaded by Samina. If you are looking for a new place to go this is definitely the place. The staff is friendly and are great to talk to. I have never left Estee disappointed.

I moved here 3 months ago from Seattle where I'd had my same wonderful stylist for years, so it was really scary finding someone new. I decided to give Tanaua a try after reading the good reviews here. I love my new cut! she really listened to what I had to say and made sure it was something that would work for me. Be honest with what you can and can't do and then just let her have her way, I think you'll be happy. She's really good at matching a style to your face.

I moved to North Carolina 2-1/2 years ago and I have to say it's been an absolute nightmare finding a new stylist. I tried SEVERAL salons in the Triangle never leaving one of them excited about my hair. If anything I left those salons disappointed and discouraged. I decided to try eSTee Salon, specifically Tanaua, because of the great reviews on CitySearch. I couldn't be more pleased. Tanaua not only listened to me but she offered actual suggestions, something I wanted from a stylist. I wanted her to tell me what style would look best on me, what cut thinned my round face yet didn't take hours to do in the morning. I left the salon with a brand new cut and color that I love! Everyone loves it! I will never go to anyone else in North Carolina.

I moved to Chapel Hill about a year and a half ago and had been going back home for my haircuts. I read so many good reviews about Tanaua and decided to give her a try. I Recently Moved To Raleigh About 2 Months Ago And After 3 Consecutive Trips To Mediocre Clips. Mediocre Clips Includes Great Clips, Supercuts and Sports Clips..... It Was Time To Find A Professional Hair Doer My First Visit To Estee' Was Eventful, I Thought This Lady Was Rude And Obnoxious......Then 14 Minutes Later I Couldnt Stop Laughing/Smiling. Tanaua Was/Is Very Outgoing, Professional and Just Eager To Help You As A Person. Her Matching Polka Dot Shoes And Shirt May Be A Little Much, But Its Her Efforts There And Thats All We Can Ask For. I Havent And Will Not Go To Anybody Else In Raleigh If That Counts For Anything, I Just Dont Give Perfect Scale Ratings So Dont Read Into The 4/5.

This was my second updo trial for my wedding hair. I had a bad experience the first time at a place in Chapel Hill. I was begining to think that no one could do my hair the way that I had imagined. I made an appointment at the eSTee Salon b/c of the reviews that I had seen on this website. When I got there, I told the hair stylist about my last experience and she said that I had nothing to worry about.
They specialize in bridal parties. Boy did they ever. I had my hair done as a trial and loved it. Not to mention everyone else did as well. On the day of my wedding, they opened up early to get me, my mother and my two bridesmaids ready. I had an updo as well as the airbrushed makeup! OMG i looked amazing. I looked the way that I wanted and I didn't have to compromise. Not only did i feel great b/c I looked amazing, but my bridesmaids and my mother were absolutely stunning as well. We all looked amazing. It was the best money I think I have every spent. I totally recommend this salon.

Pros: Location, service, product, everthing!!!

I saw a person gave Tanaua a bad review. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and and everyone can have a bad day once in awhile...PLEASE DON'T LET THIS REVIEWER KEEP YOU FROM GOING TO TANAUA. She is skilled. Very. She listens well. She remembers her Clients - even if you've only gone to her once she will likely be able to tell you exactly what you talked about the last time you were there. She remembers the names of your kids, husband, and just about anything else you've ever told her. She used to be at another salon. I had not been there for awhile and when I called for an aptmt with her they said she moved. They wouldn't tell me where she went. I worked hard to track her down because I didn't want anyone else cutting my hair. And yes, she is honest. She wants you to look your best. I took my teenaged daughter there. She's blond and wanted all black hair with blond underneath. Tanaua said "I'm sorry. I can't do that. I know it won't look good. I can help you find someone that will do it but I won't." Two years later my daughter is still going to Tanaua because she learned to trust that Tanaua had her best interest first and was willing to lose her as a client rather than give my daughter a style that clearly was not right for her. My daughter is glad Tanaua talked her out of the original request and loved her new hairstyle. And trust me when I say my daughter has a mind of her own and is very confident. She could have walked out of there and I thought she would. I think she sensed Tanaua was sincere. In any case, she was won over and we're both loyal Tanaua clients. Tanaua, if you look at these things then let me just say...THANK YOU TANAUA!!!

I have been going to Tanaua for years. I have had long hair,short hair, blonde, red and brown hair. She has done an outstanding job every single time. Every where I go I meet someone who's hair she's done. She has a great reputation in Raleigh for being one of the best. If your new in town or if you looking for a "new do", Try Tanaua at Esst' Salon.
