Corovan, like many moving companies, comes to your house, inventories your belongings, then estimates how many man-hours it will take to pack and move. They then give a "not to exceed" estimate -- meaning that even if the move takes longer than the estimator presumed it would, the customer still only pays the estimate amount.
Well, my move took a couple hours longer than estimated, and at the end, the movers themselves pressured me to sign a statement saying that I would pay more to cover their overtime. I told them that I had a contract with Corovan stating that I would only pay a certain amount ... but I felt pretty uncomfortable with these 4 big guys looming over me, complaining that they did all this work and weren't going to be paid enough. I told them that was between them and Corovan, and asked them to leave. I wrote a letter complaining to the estimator, but I never heard back from him. The guys did a decent job on the move itself, but the pressure to pay more puts this company in the "wouldn't recommend" category.
