8/9/12 On July 26th. I received a letter from Dr.Kellerman apologizing for not getting in touch informing me that their E-mail had been down for three weeks.

I did in fact receive an original estimate for work, after the work while checking out was billed for a higher amount than the estimate which was explained by an employee as just that an estimate which may change when turned into an insurance company.. Several weeks later I did receive another bill for something that was explained to me as a charge that was not completely covered. This in my opinion was #1 an original price estimate, #2 an increase after an original quote, #3 another billing after an increased amount was paid. In no way do I believe I was charged three times for a procedure just an incorrect total from an estimated amount.

It turns out that after this review being read by Dr. Kellerman my case was opened back up, my insurance company was billed again and all remaining charges were paid in full.Dr. Kellerman stated in this letter that this has made him realize they can do better with insurance and cost communication. I applaud these efforts. I had always been treated with respect & dedication. When I had a issues most often it was resolved in a timely and professional fashion even if my final price was higher than the original estimate.

ORIGINAL POST>>Overall the service is good. Very upbeat office, very clean. For the most part I can say the office personnel are pleasant and ready to help and do quality work.

MODIFIED ORIGINAL POST>All of my work has a pre-cert estimate. All my visits but one the final bill was not what was estimated. Always a higher charge. My last visit had the initial estimate, once the work was done my bill was higher than the estimate, after paying that increase I received another bill for an additional amount. After contacting the office I was told that of course all prices were estimates. I understand this but two increases after the original estimate is not ***. ( The sentence immediately prior to the sentence contained in this parenthesis is one quoted in the letter I received as being believed as possibly not factual. Again to clarify #1 an original estimate, #2 paid a higher amount after work performed, #3 received another bill after paying adjusted amount. This seems to have been rectified by Dr. Kellerman opening up this case and re-billing on my behalf to the insurance company which in turn has been paid in full)

MODIFIED ORIGINAL POST>The only time in my experience that I had to pay more consistently after an estimate is at this office. No other health care provider has billed me more than once, especially *** ti**s for *** or ***.

ORIGINAL POST>After calling the office out in this and expressing my dissatisfaction regarding this and wanting a detailed itemized list for the expenses, I received a letter from the Dr. informing me that I am being put on an inactive patient list that I did not request to be placed on. I then followed up with an E-mail asking for a itemized list of expediencies. To date I have not received the requested information to go over.

8/9/12 Today I received a letter from Dr. Kellerman's attorney sent certified mail
"Demand to Cease and Desist"
"'The purpose of this letter is to inform you that you are to immediately cease and desist any form of defamatory or disparaging conduct toward Dr. Kellerman and his practice. We have information that to believe that in July of 2012 you posted or caused to be posted a false and disparaging review of Dr. Kellerman's practice, "copy included". In addition to ceasing such conduct, demand is hereby made that you immediately remove all false reviews of Dr. Kellerman posted on google.com, and any other form of media.

Your failure to IMMEDIATELY cease and desist such defamatory and disparaging behavior and to remove the offending review will result in legal action being taken against you. Legal action against you may include, but will not be limited to, a restraining order and the filing of a civil lawsuit seeking damages for the tort of defamation".

In response to the certified letter, clarification has been made to the original post (which was going to be done anyway) to remove or modify all sections Dr. Kellerman STATED he did not feel were factual and does not accurately represent his office. As outlined in the letter I received on July 26th. The complete post has not been removed since in his opinion in the letter dated July 26th. 2012 sections he was concerned with were highlighted, the remaining then was factual.

After receiving the certified letter I doubt I will return. Conversation is wonderful.

I have had bad experiences with dentists before and always hope for the best and expect the worst when going to someone new. This time my hopes were fulfilled. I have had a difficult bridge done and am planning on doing another at Kellerman. The staff are more worried about the patient than the money the patient has which I have found rare. My comfort was their biggest concern which spoke volumes about the office! I had some difficulties after the bridge and always received an understanding, sympathetic voice whether calling or visiting during that time. Most recently I went in for a cleaning and found that there is a laser treatment to desensitize my 2 bottom front teeth. I have had to be numbed for the past 15 years for any cleaning to be done on those teeth but after the laser I didn't feel a thing. It is amazing! I thought I would have to suffer for the rest of my life but now can go in for a cleaning worry free. No shots, no pain, no worries. I have suggested Kellerman to my co-workers, friends, and family. You need to give them a try!

I have been going to Kellerman since they opened in the Glen Carbon area. I have been pleased with all of Dr. Kellerman's work and his staff. I have recommended him to many friends who have also had positive experiences. One time I was not totally satisfied with the services provided, and not only did they correct the situation immediately, but they sent me a card in the mail thanking me for my input. Very professional, prompt, effective, great at explaining anything you need.

I was referred to Kellerman Dental by a good friend. When I called to make an appointment, I was greeted by Virginia. She was extremely nice. I was pleasantly surprised that she was knowledgeable about my insurance and how they work. I LOVE a dentist office that knows how an insurance company works and can give me a heads up about what will be covered, and what may not be covered. At my first appt. with Dr. Kellerman, he asked if I was having any problems and what my reason was for visiting Kellerman Dental. I explained that I had been going to a dentist who was not in my network and that I was needing a root canal on a back tooth. After Dr. did his examination, he enlightened me that the tooth that I thought needed a root canal, did NOT need one after all!!!!! Anyone who's had a root canal, knows how expensive and nerve wracking they can be. I was so relieved that I was not going to have to shell out the cost for it and go through the anxiety of one!!!! Dr. Kellerman explained what he thought was best for me and my dental needs. He suggested putting a bridge where I had a tooth pulled several several years ago and the benefits of having one. He also suggested replacing an old crown and finishing up a root canal that never reached completion. I completed my dental work just a couple days ago. I AM SO IMPRESSED!!!! I've never had a bridge before and was of course a little apprehensive how it would all turn out in the end. My bridge fits perfectly, and feels and looks so natural!!!! My bite is perfect and it feels like I never had a tooth missing!!

I highly recommend Kellerman Dental. I am 100% satisfied with my treatment and work completed. Truth be told, I had a bad experience with a previous dentist who made me feel embarassed and I refused to go back, convinced all dentists would be the same way. This ultimately led to a list of severe problems with my gums and teeth. I wish I had known that not all dentists were like my old one. It is so important to have a knowledgeable staff and dentist on your side encouraging you to do what's best for your overall oral health and to do it with honesty. I certainly have found that at Kellerman Dental and will continue to tell everone about the excellent service I received!

I'd also like to mention Tiffany, Nikki and Dominique! Super sweet girls, very efficient and attentive! A++++++

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU KELLERMAN DENTAL!

As someone who gets extreme anxiety about dental visits, I avoided the dentist like the PLAUGE. I did not go to the dentist for 6 years! During my pregnancy I was having some issues with my teeth that I could only ignore for so long. So I began my LONG, EXHAUSTING search for a dentist. I saw 4 different dentists before finding Dr. Kellerman. I had never once had a pleasant experience with a dentist.

Much to my surprise, my first trip to Dr. Kellermans office went very smoothly. I was greeted by friendly receptionists and a beautiful clean office. The wait time was very short being taken back to the exam room? The dental assistant took me back to get some X-rays, it was obvious that I was uncomfortable so she made conversation with me to help make me more comfortable and assured me that everything was going to be just fine. Dr. Kellerman came in to do the exam and sat down with me to make a treatment plan. He was extremely kind, KNOWLEDGEABLE, and patient with all of my questions regarding my course of treatment.

Every visit to Dr. Kellermans office I am always surrounded by friendly staff who always take the time to say hello. Also, the dental assistants that Dr. Kellerman has working in his practice are WONDERFUL. Dominique, Amy and Sarah are all a huge part in the ease I feel at Kellerman dental. Dr. Kellerman is a great dentist with a great demeanor that makes it easy to relax in his chair.

I have been a patient of Kellerman Dental for over a year now, and could not be more pleased with the care that I have received there. I have had extensive work done by Dr. Kellerman and his staff including wisdom teeth extractions, root canals, crowns, fillings and basic cosmetic touchups?and I completely believe that I could not find a dental practice that cares more about my smile then Kellerman Dental. The search for an AMAZING dentist is over, and so are the dreaded trips to the dentist. Kevin Kellerman has a patient for life :O)

I recently went to Kellerman Dental for the extraction of a bridge. This was my first visit to Kellerman Dental, I was greated by kind staff, the assistant brought me back to the room, discussed the extraction and called for the doctor to give me anesthetic. The doctor came in introduced himself and shook my hand.. He was a very kind polite smilling gentleman. He discussed the extraction I was about to have, and also layed out a treatment plan for future work. After numbing me the assistant checked my status. When I was good an numb the doctor came in and with minimal work removed the bridge! This was a wonderful experience at the Dentist! I would recommend Doctor Kellerman to anyone! This is a wonderful office! Sincerely Eva Riley

I am really happy with my experience from Kellerman Dental. Everyone was nice and the doctor was very knowledgeable. Instead of forcing treatment on me, he gave me options and let me decide what would work best for me. I would definitely recommend Kellerman Dental to my friends and family.

I had a root canal done 7 months ago with a crown and buildup done. For the last month my tooth has been killing me.I went back to Dr kellerman and he said that they can't see anything wrong and went ahead and polished the crown down to see if it was to high. That didn't help. I went in the next week for my cleaning and it was still hurting. They recommended going to a specialist. I went this morning only to find out I have an abscess tooth and the root canal that kellerman did was not done correctly because it did not go down far enough and I have nerves still done there . So I have to get another root canal done with another crown and build up. I called Dr Kellerman as soon as I get home and there response is "well dentistry is not an exact science and I signed a consent form so they are not responsible" So basically I spent money to have something done right. It was not done right and i have to have it fixed again at my expense. So thanks to them I have to have my tooth pulled and get a bridge. Thanks Dr kelleman I really appreciate your work...NOT

After trying my dentist for my son's 4yr visit, and failing lol. I decided to look else where. I found Dr.Kellerman's in the yellow pages, and they took Medicaid so I figured what they heck. When I arrived with my son the office was nice and the staff friendly. When my son was called back I was allowed to follow (chose to stay out of eye shot of my son for most of the visit). I beileve it was a woman named Sam that checked my son out... he called her Doctor.. very cute stuff. Well the woman was a miracle worker. Seriously I wanted to hirer her as my nanny or something. When Dr.Kellermen came in to check my son I got this very rushed attitude. Not sure if it was me (I say myself because I recently had all of my teeth taken out, and my dentures haven't come in yet so I'm walking around looking like a freak lol. So if it was me then my lack of teeth displeased him in some form... but he didn't really show it) or if he really was rushed then slow down man take a breather lol. Either way he was sweet to my kid which is all that matters. I would say this place is awesome and they are now my son's dentist. And I reccomend them to anyone who asks.

After reading the previous review, I was shocked because my visit to Kellerman Dental was GREAT!!! When I called to make my first appointment, I talked to the receptionist who was very warm and friendly. I asked a couple questions and she was responsive and knowledgeable. I was greeted warmly by Shanda when I entered, and was seen promptly by the hygienist, Sam. She did a thorough cleaning, one of the best I've ever had, and then had a thorough exam done by Dr. Kellerman. I was having pain from my upper wisdom teeth coming in so Dr. asked if I wanted to have them taken out that day. I was amazed that I was able to get work done that day. I walked over to the Dr's chair and was introduced to the dental assistant that would be assisting in my procedure. She gave me information on their numbing technique, because she said I appeared to be nervous and she also assured me everything would be fine. She soon called Dr. Kellerman and we started the procedure. They placed a gel on my gums that helped with the numbing, then I was given two doses of local anesthetic. I never even realized I was given two shots. This made me feel even better because I am terrified of needles. We waited about ten minutes and began the procedure. It took him about five minutes to remove both teeth and we were done. They went over post-surgery instructions and sent me home with extra gauze just in case the site oozed when I got home. The assistant walked me up to the front and I was greeted again by the business assistant and was scheduled to come back for my fillings. When I came back I was introduced to Dr. Hentze. He was very kind as well. I asked the assistant about whitening, she explained how the process worked and we took impressions for my custom whitening trays that day.All in all, my experience at Kellerman Dental was really good. I felt as if all the staff was caring and willing to go that extra mile to make me feel important. They explained things to me in a way that let me know that I would be a patient there for many years to come. At my previous dentist I felt like dentistry was sold at every appointment, at Kellerman Dental, I did not get that at all. The only thing I got was great dental care. Thank you to everyone there for giving me a pleasant experience.

I visited three local dentists after moving to this area.

Dr. Kellerman took time to talk to me AND listen. I got
in for both the check-up and treatment very quickly with no wait and his prices for a root canal/crown were over $250 less than the other treatment plans I received.

He was thorough, but did not try to sell me services or products I don't need. In fact, he was helpful in suggesting less costly, but effective alternatives.

His office is clean and his staff was pleasant.

I had previously posted an anonymous review of Dr. Kellerman due to the bad experience that I had. He somehow found out I wrote the review and decided to call me about it. After a very uncomfortable and not so amiable conversation, we both agreed to me deleting my post. I would just like to point something out, that is taken from this website's own explanation of "anonymous" posings:

When someone has had a bad experience with a business and feels compelled to share that experience to help others, they are sometimes stopped by a fear of reprisal. We want everyone to feel free to share their experiences, so we allow registered members the option of sharing an experience anonymously.

So, I have decided not to delete my post, and only edit it. I posted what I said in an anonymous way, so that I would feel free to express my opinion. Dr. Kellerman's phonecall to me was due to him being very offended by some of the statements made. The problem is, this is only my OPINION of how things happened, and not a FACT. Therefore, I do have full right to share my opinion on the matter. This is my edited version:

Though I wrote my first post in the heat of the moment, whenI look back, I am still unhappy with how I was treated when I was a patient there (about a year ago). I realize that Dr. Kellerman had no intention of mistreating me, but nonetheless, it is how I felt, and still feel to this day. I appreciated his courage for calling me to discuss it with me, although it was very uncomfortable and I probably will not go back due to the sheer awkwardness of the situation at this point.

At 25, I had never had a cavity/filling before, so when I came in and was told I had 5 that needed to be filled, I was pretty upset about it. I am assuming that Dr. Kellerman didn't realize my sensitivity to the situation, and he spent very little time explaining to me where the cavities were, how bad they were, etc. Then when I came in for my filling appointment, he then told me there was a 6th cavity that needed filling. This had me even more internally upset. He then had a woman work on my teeth who admitted to me that she actually didn't work there, and used to work there in the past. At this point, I didn't know what to think, and it really made me question Dr. Kellerman's practice. When he called me today, he explained that he never would have comprimised my safety, and that she was one of the best dental techs he had ever had. Though I appreciate him clearing that up, I still believe it was a bad decision on his part.

I wrote my previous review becuase I was still having significant pain/sensitivity from the fillings, which was making me even more nervous. I will say that I no longer have any pain, and I am assuming things are probably okay. The people that I came into contact with were very friendly, especially their receptionists. I was just left feeling very uneasy about how things were handled after a bunch of little incidents in addition to those mentioned there kept piling up.
