5 Stars: Best Chicago Food (by Dorice C.)

I was visting from Chicago and I stop in. Well let me tell you it was like I was in Chicago. Z's has the best food ever and the fries are the best I ever had plus he had the bunch tamles. It reminded me of my childhood.

My Suggestion if you are ever in Mesa AZ you must stop at Z's A Chicago Food Experience. It will be worth the trip.

3 Stars: Hope they get better as they get in gear (by Neal D.)

Saw the ad in the AZ Republic and drop by for lunch. Ordered a cheese dog and fries. As i waited for just over 10 minutes for my order, I heard the man at the cash register tell a customer that they were not expecting the ad to hit until the next day. BUT there was not very many customers in the place when I came in and placed my order. Had to ask what happened to my order and did finally get it. Sorry for rambling here but the guy at the register kept looking at me and did not wonder why the same person is standing in the same place - Maybe I should have spoken up but was trying to give them a chance.
AS FOR the food - The hot Dog and bun are very good (dog had great taste and crunch when you bit into it) and the bun - just like Chicago Baby. The fries needed some more cooking - big ones were cold on the inside and some (Alot) of the small ones seemed to be just dropped in some lukewarm oil.But I hope that this was just first day jinks and I will go back again because it seems the base tastes are there and I just caught them on a bad first day

3 Stars: Bratwursts done right (by Robert D.)

A far cry from the typical fast food mantra of speed over quality, Z's food is handmade to order while you wait. The food is delicious and generously portioned, and service is friendly and prompt with a variety of different menu items so you"ll be sure to find something to suit your taste. Bratwursts come with sauerkraut, onions ,and mustard, but feel free to experiment if you feel the need. I'd definitely recommend Z's to anyone who wants good food instead of the average fast food meal of something you can eat in 30 seconds or less.

5 Stars: You'll eat every meal there until you go broke. (by poop p.)

Their burgers taste like a burger you'd make yourself. The hot dogs are insane! The polish sausage sandwich is like art in your mouth. The Italian Beef. The Italian Beef cannot be spoken of because it is scared. The ribs. The ribs. Z's teaches us that God is real, and he really does love us. You will wake up in cold sweats craving Z's.

4 Stars: MMMMMM - Chicago Style Italian Beef (by Lisa A.)

I like mine "dry". Also "with" (and at Z's you get peppers, giardinara, AND onions!). The giardinara is tangy but not too hot, just right! Yummy beef and real Gonnella bread, the perfect Italian beef sandwich. Enjoyed the mushrooms and onion rings as well. Can't wait to try the hot dogs as authentic Chicago style dogs are few and far between here in AZ. Lots of Chicago street signs and other memorabilia to look at during the short wait for your food. Our first visit to Z's was last night--we'll be back! Nice clean surroundings and friendly service.

5 Stars: Chicago Food Experience (by John D.)

Z's in Tempe has unbelievably great Chicago Style hot dogs, Italian Beef sandwiches, (better than Portillos I think) and OUTSTANDING hand made French Fries. This is a new place to the valley but every time I've been there at lunch they've been busy. Nice thing is they also have a drive thru and are open late in the evening, most of these places in Arizona close early for some reason. Check out their BBQ Baby back ribs too, they have a great special on Sundays right now where you get a free half slab for every full slab rib dinner you buy.

PROS: Great menu and a drive thru
CONS: Need another location in Phoenix

2 Stars: Excellet! (by daisy b.)

Reasonably priced with fresh product, Z's is a definite must. The substantial serving of hand cut fries are great! There are a variety of options, giving you a different experience every time. To top it all off have a refreshing monsoon to wash it all down and cool off!

5 Stars: Delicious! (by veronica s.)

I give Z's 5 stars all the way! If you haven't had the fries I suggest you get in your car, do not pass go, do not collect $200, just get to Z's and get some fries! They are one of a kind, delicious and addicting. Have yourself some fries with any one of his menu items and you will be satisfied, my favorites include, the Italian Beef (super dipped please), Maxwell Polish and Italian Sausage. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Not to mention the new location is really nice too!

4 Stars: Great Italian Beef (by Mark D.)

Z's Italian Beef is just like home, and the sandwich is huge for the price, a 6 incher. (I ate half the next day!) The fry's for 1.29 are good too, not the frozen type but home made. Drinks were reasonable to about 1.29 with free refills, but I would recommend a shake. If you check out their website you can get a free shake this month too! www.zsrestaurants.com

PROS: Fast Service
CONS: No longer takes Discover cards
