LOVE THE MIDWIVES  5 Star Rating - World class

When I saw that last review I just had to post my thoughts. I had the midwives for 2 pregnancies and deliveries and loved them. There are about 6 midwives in the office and while I clicked more with some than others I felt comfortable with all of them. I never waited more than a few minutes to be seen and they were always very imformative and helpful. My first delivery was pretty rough but they did there best to make me as comfortable as possible. I have since moved out of state but I tell my husband all the time that I wish I could just go up to Salt Lake for my next pregnancy. They were wonderful.

PROS: Close to the hospital, friendly, prompt.
CONS:

Sorry but I wouldn't recommend these people  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

I was pretty disappointed with this practice. First of all, the midwife who delivered my baby (Sandy) didn't follow my birth plan really at all. These were not cases where it was medically necessary to do something different, but honestly I don't even know if she read my birth plan, although it was in my chart. You have to take whatever midwife is on call to deliver your baby- you don't have a choice. There is only one of the midwives I really like and another one is okay. Also when I was at my post-partum check-up I asked why I was bleeding so heavily still and without asking any further questions, the midwife told me "You're doing too much. You need to rest more." It turned out I had retained placenta, which is very serious, but they totally missed it. In general I felt more like a number than a person with this practice and did not enjoy my experience there. I went down to see my o.b. (an hour away) for my final post-partum checkup so I didn't have to go back to see them. Also my newborn daughter got a staph infection at the hospital and the nurse practitioner at this practice had no idea what it was- it took 28 days of her having this (and going to a different doctor) before we finally got her on the antibiotics she needed.
Most people go to a midwife to be treated more like a person and less like a number- if that's what you want, this is not your place.

PROS: Deedee is the only cool one
CONS: An unpleasant experience, and not very competent
