Dr. Lisa Kaufman

I have been seeing Dr. Kaufman for several years. She is a great doctor! She is very professional, very caring and never in too much of a rush to answer questions. She is also good at gently scolding a patient that misses appointments, doesn't take her medicine, change her diet or exercise -- like me. I need this encouragement and it lets me really know she cares. Her demeanor is inviting and makes you feel comfortable answering or asking any question. Her recommendations have been great. I am a non-touchy person and Dr. Kaufman is the only doctor that has every made me feel this comfortable during an examination. She is honest and certainly reflects a "World Class" evaluation.

Dr. Kaufman is a gifted diagnostitian and a brilliant medical detective. She is also the most caring physician I have ever heard about - much less been a patient of. She picks up the phone and calls me when she wants to follow up on my condition or when she wants to urge me to come in for follow up care. She also gets me in to see specialists without delay.

I have the utmost respect for Dr. Kaufman and know I am fortunate to be followed by her.

I've been a patient of Dr. Kaufman's for 18 years, and I would not want to be treated by anyone else. She's simply excellent. She takes time to explain everything, calls you back if needed, and is always willing to see you even on short notice. She has also recommended other specialists as needed, who are equally good.

I have been going to Dr. Lisa Kaufman for many years. She is very caring, good listener, and will always give you feedback on the results of your testing. She is the only Dr. that I have been to that has actually called me after hours and one time on the weekend to give me my results.

I would highly recommend Dr. Kaufman to anyone that is looking for an Internist.

I agree fully with the previous reviewer. Dr. Kaufman is absolutely one of the best in the Washington area. She listens well, is caring, plus she definitely knows her stuff and is no-nonsense in diagnosing - precisely what I like in an internist. She also almost always is able to see me within 15 minutes of arrival. I have minimal experience with the other doctors in the office. I have been seen for emergency calls by a PA who also seems very talented. The support staff are nice in person.

My only complaint - and it is a serious one - is getting through to the office by phone. You may be annoyed by the "Hold Please" reception you will almost certainly get from the staff, with waits often running more than 10 minutes.

Dr. Kaufman's office is clean and comfortable. The staff is okay. They have not been rude or unpleasant to me, but could use a little customer service training. It is not hard to make an appointment. Dr. Kaufman specializes in internal medicine. She is one of the best doctors I have ever had. She is thorough, patient, takes time to tell you what you should do and is very pleasant and consistent. She also pushes just enough to make patients like me behave, i.e., take my medicine, lose weight or keep my appointments. Dr. Kaufman is also willing to offer little tips on how to behave. I have no experience with the other doctors in the office.

The doctors are good. Kaufman, Wheaton, possibly Greenlee.
The front desk staff is rude, incompent, and lazy. If the doctors would only invest in good people I would have gladly provided 5 stars. Alas, I am still searching for a doctor. I mean really they made a mistake with my insurance and nobody will get up off their behinds to fix it. Absolutely no ownership of responsibility. Either the doctors pay them poorly or the doctors are blind to the incompetence.

Both my partner and I are avid patients of Dr. Kaufman.She is the kind of doctor you can count on when you need proper attention and treatment. Her staff is very attentive too. If they didn't call back, call again. If Dr. Kaufman is not taking new patients, TRY AGAIN! Its hard to find practices like hers

Her office said they'd call back immediately to verify my insurance and schedule an appointment. They never did.
Tried again on 12/13/06 and weren't taking any new patients for the year.

My girlfriend goes to Dr. Lisa. She is a big fan. I wish my doctor was this great. My girlfriend can always get into the office within a day for a minor need and within a couple hours is something is urgent. Ive taken here a couple times and the facility is clean and the staff is nice.

When my doctor was on vacation but I had an immediate need, I was directed to Lisa Kaufman and got great service from her. She worked well with me to get me an appointment on short notice, she listened to what I needed and treated me wonderfully even though I was not going to be a regular patient of hers. She is conviently located near either of the Farragut metro stops.
