Just OK  3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

This place is spotty. Food is pretty good, but expensive for basically "Contemporary Diner." Service is unreliable, sometimes seeming to forget you (maybe the kitchen is slow?). Kids over 6 may be stuck between chicken fingers (again?) and complex adult dishes. Maybe the management is spoiled by lack of competition in town. We prefer Hill Street Cafe or Rocky Cola.

Best to go during the week  3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

Good basic food that is served freshly cooked. You'd think that would be a given, but I've been served warm(warmed up?) food from other local restaurants. I'm a fan of their sandwiches and the chicken portabello salad. Breakfasts are typical of other diners. Service when I go(non-peak hours) is excellent.

I'm a local and generally visit during the week. Other reviewers are correct...the wait can be long. It's best to arrive early for lunch if you can-by 11:30. I've heard from others that weekends are very crowded and busy. I've always found the servers friendly and proactive, offering refills, etc...

stay away  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

I came to this restaurant with my family and everyone enjoyed the food. The waitress made a mistake with my ordered and she actually started to argue with me rather than shutting up and do her job. The argument ruined my meal. I dont recommend this restaurant because of the rude waitress!

Mediocre service and mediocre food  2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

I've eaten at the Dish several times now and always walked away wondering why I went there in the first place. The food is not very good, and the service isn't that good either. There are much better restaurants nearby. I recommend you try one of those.

PROS: Good sourdough rolls
CONS: Food, service, price

Cozy up and order some comfort food 4 Star Rating - Very good

I ate at Dish on Tuesday, Feb 5, 2008 on the way down the mountain after cross-country skiing. Since Ive read some negative reviews here, I was concerned about trying out this restaurant. Our experience fortunately was completely positive. Upon walking through the front door, we were greeted warmly by the host. Without a wait, we were seated at one of the tables near the fireplace in the bar area. Our server, Louis, was friendly and professional. He was knowledgeable about the wines and the items on the dinner menu, making suggestions as to food and wine pairings. The food was very good - we ordered the sand dabs and the chicken pasta. Both were well prepared and satisfying and the quality was much in line with the reasonable prices. Additionally, the various wines by the glass were half price due to happy hour. The bread pudding was exceptionally good even though visually it didn't look like much. The DISH version is filled with apples and nuts. Order it la mode and share an order. DISH is a down home, neighborhood restaurant serving comfort food at affordable prices in a pleasant, inviting environment. We'll definitely return the next time we're in the area.

Just not as good as it used to be 2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

We have been going to Dish since it opened. It was really good food the first three years or so, and then it started to decline. The orders take a long time to come out and then the taste falls flat. The menu makes things sound great ( the garlic burger) it was very bland and I was disapointed as I thought with a new chef/ partner and menu, it would have improved. I used to love this place for breakfast, lunch and dinner and Iv'e tried all three lately and was unhappy all three times. I even E-mailed them with my opinion, and heard nothing back.

TERRIBLE 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

If you go to many restaurants and know good food, you will cry after you eat food from here. I went there for brunch, and ordered some kind of dish with vegetables and chicken. The chicken was boiled and absolutely no spice on it. so it was just a piece of boiled chicken and boiled 2 sticks of carrots. thats all. they also didnt bring the right order out for my friend and after 40 minutes, they finally decided to bring out the eggs (i dont know how long it takes them to make eggs, but maybe there is a culinary school in the back and no one knows what they are doing). the decor is ok if you are into "grandma's house we go" style.

SO! If you enjoy eating a piece of wood or tree leaves, go here.

Cons: food

AWFUL - all caps!! 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

How all these reviewers can rate this horrible excuse for a restaurant..? Makes me wonder if I should trust any reviews on Citysearch. This was by far the worst dining experience I've had in a long time. The decor is like - well, like a gymnasium crossed with a cafeteria maybe. The service is like - the owners kids or nieces and nephews or anyone just thrown in there to work. Go ahead, ask them what kind of "butter" they use. I dare you. The food is indescribable. I hate wasting my stomach on food like this.

Pros: none
Cons: everything else

Awesome breakfast and service 5 Star Rating - World class

We went there today for New Year's Day brunch. We got there at around 1:30pm and happily discovered that they although they weren't serving from the full breakfast menu, they still serve from their limited breakfast menu all day. This was perfect since I wanted breakfast food and my parents and husband wanted lunch. All the food was really good and the service was excellent. My parents are vegetarian and didn't see anything on the menu they really liked, so they asked the waitress if she could make a special sandwich for them with the veggies and cheese they wanted. She gladly did it and my parents said the sandwich was great! It even came with french fries. I had the sourdough french toast and my husband had the grilled pepper and goat cheese sandwich. We also ordered the sweet potato fries...everything was really good! My 1 year old son went and had food from the kids menu. The atmosphere is very cozy and both main seating areas have fireplaces that were going. Ample parking too...they have a lot. We were very happy with the place and will definitely go back. Bonus: there is a pinkberry two stores down.

Pros: Affordable pricing, good food, good ambience, kid-friendly, great service, parking
Cons: None
