I'm moving out Washington DC, and have a lot of gay books to dump,

So i called G BOOKS and want to donate to them, but the owner told me that they'll pay me, as they buy used books on all gay subjects. Actually they paid me pretty well.

If you have used gay books to get rid of, you should contact G BOOKS and sell to them, Don't giveaway or throw in trash..

Best prices & selections on lubes, head-cleaners, DVDs, Books, etc. at G BOOKS.

I used to buy lubes on line, but i went to there to grab a bottle of lube last Sunday, and found that price there is lower than i paid on line.

(you know, the lubes on line looks cheap, but when adding shipping/handling charges, that are pretty pricey).

I also found their other stuff for gay men are also cheap and well-stocked.

The only thing i don't like is their store hours (4pm-10pm, weekend from 12noon), and i hope they open longer. But they told me they open fewer hours because they want to keep the overhead low, it's one of their ways to keep prices so low.

You may know that gay porn icon Jack Wrangler passed away a few days ago at 62 years old, because of lung problems (he used to hang around Dupont Circle a lot when visiting, DC, and i encountered him there once, had a good time).

So i want his movies, and i looked around everywhere, but fruitless.

I heard of that G BOOKS stocks lot of old gay stuff, and droped by the other day to take a look, and luckily found 2 titles re-leased from Channel 1 Releasing (including Married Man, his debut).

Oh, I almost forgot to report that i had another discovery at G BOOKS.

You all know Jeff Stryker is a huge gay porn star, i bet few of you guys know his brother Rick Stryker did gay movies also. I have been looking for that DVD for a while.

I asked the guy working there, he is very nice, knowing lots of juicy stuff about gay porn biz (it's never ceased to amaze me that he knows so much although he is from another country), and told me that they had one called Undercover in stock.

I really enjoy the library style customer services although the shop look disorganized.

BTW, G BOOKS lube prices are much lower. A jar of 15 oz Elbow Grease cream onlt $18.99, i bought one from a famous shop last month, and was charged $29.99.

As matter of factor, the prices their BOOKS, DVDs, Lubes, HEAD-CLEANERS, gears are cheapper than on websites

(they also have FleshLight! WOW, you don't have to go online to pay shipping).

I'm happy that G BOOKS is around our neighborhood.

Friends in NY recommended me to visit G BOOKS when in DC during Easter weekend, so i went to there and looked around.

At first glance, the books, magazines scattered everywhere, but it seems the Asian guy working there knows everything (he told me later he was librarian for 10 years, and in gay books business for another 10 years ), with his help i found some 1st edition books which are rare and hard to find, and some old Williams Higgins DVDs, which are cheap already, but he gave some extra discount when checking out.

The most impressive thing of visiting the store is that I found the 1st gay mag i've ever read 30 years ago! Just like meet a long lost old friend again, bringing back all my sweet memory.

Indeed, G BOOKS looks messy, but full of gay books, mags & movies you may not find other places at great prices.

It really makes me think of those little bookshops in San Francisco and New York, which have been disapearing in the past 30 years.

G BOOKS also gives me an inspiration,

As i'll retire in a couple years, Me and my partner are planning doing something active, instead of staying put, so we may open a similar little bookstore like G BOOKS in New York. Not only does it fulfill my dream ( i awlays want to open a bookstore), but also make friends with gay booklovers although it's not lucrative business nowadays. That's called laobour of love.

Talk about a kid in a candy store! G can actually be over-whelming. Every time I'm in DC, I make time to stop in! My only complaint is that there's little organization, and sometime I feel a bit guilty about having to dig for items (old mags). At first, I was a bit intimidated by the owner, but once he saw I was a serious collector, he became quite friendly, and even discounted some (already cheap) prices for me. Give this one a try- it's worth it!

G BOOKS is a mess, but you can discover gems like rare gay books, mags.

Sidelines such as new-release DVDs from Titan, Trasure Island, Hot House, Channel 1 Releasing.

Lubes like ID, Wet, SwissNavy, GunOil. Elbow Grease.

Novelities such as FLESH LIGHT.

Also Jungle Juice, Maximum Impact, Rush & cards

All are well stocked and CHEAPER than online.

But the store hours is not so convenient: 4pm-10pm, from 12pm weekends, considering the money i can save there, the inconvenience may be worth it.

We just walked into this store 'cause my friend really wanted to buy a book. We went there around 8 p.m. on Thursday Oct. 9, 2008.
We wanted to go to the book section (other than the porn collection) but the owner said that the section is closed for inventory. So we walked back to the front of the store where there are also a few books. The owner said that section is closed as well! We asked if there are any books for sale, any books at all. He said "no, if you want books, go to Lambda Rising!" We said if there are no books for sale, maybe the store should close for a short while until the inventory is done. He barked at us: "I'm stupid, I have my store open; just leave!"
I've never seen such a rude sales-person. I thought since it's a gay bookstore, they probably want to be nice to customers. Obviously not! At least he could be nice about the fact that most of his store is not available for sale, but he was so evil and rude. I'd rather buy books from eBay or Amazon or, yes, Lambda Rising!

Decent (best) selection of gay books, sex toys and supplies. Nice owner will help with anything he can. If it isn't there already, he will try to get it. Prices are best in town for everything. Yes it is cluttered, messy and crowded, but treasures can be found at every turn. Makes one realize how over-amped and over-priced L.R. and the other L.R. can be.

The First Time I Went To G BOOKS I THought I Was Lucky Enough To Catch a Big Sale. No, The Prices Are Always Low. I Found Videos I Could Not Find Anywhere Else Including On The Web, And At Prices Way Below Other Stores Or Web Sites. POPPERS,LUBE, CONDOMS, Everything Is Way Below The Prices Of Anyone Around. And The Owner Is Pretty Nice Too. Warm, Vivacious and Welcoming and Knows What You Want.

I spend WAY too much time looking at pornography,
and discovered that legal "poppers" greatly enhance the
experience. At first, I tried Lamba Rising, and they sent me to
The Leather Rack, which has rather high prices.
I was delighted to discover G Books, which has a nice discount
on poppers........the guy even gave me a "buy three, get one free" price, with the advice that they'll stay fresh longer if kept in the freezer. A lot of stuff there, and good prices. Too bad some dickwads robbed this guy in December.

I stumbled upon G Books shopping at the many cute boutiques on U St. The store is in the basement level of Meeps and Aunt Neensie's. There's a little sign that says "G Books: Gay Bookstore"

At first glance, I thought I'd accidentally wandered into a hardcore gay porn supplier. The first part of the store looked like a giant pinata filled with gay male porn and very explicit sex toys had exploded. At this point, my companions backed out. But I soldiered on and discovered that the middle of the store was filled with an impressive selection of used and new gay and lesbian-themed books at reasonable prices.

G Books has a larger and more diverse selection of used LGBT books than Lambda Rising, DC's main gay bookstore. Of course they also have lots of porn videos, but no one's perfect. I found lesbian romances and mysteries at half price, and ended up buying several novels. The very nice guy behind the counter said they have tons more books that they can't fit on the shelf and looked up several authors in their database for me.

PROS: cheap gay and lesbian books
CONS: you have to brave the scary porn
