This is a definite spot on a hit list of great restaurants in the North State! I would even go so far as to say that it is worth a trip from San Francisco to experience. I have eaten sushi at some of the best rated restaurants in Manhattan, Boston, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and San Diego, and this place is one of the absolute best. The management of this establishment has a lot of experience, and it shows with their streamlined, sleek digs, and their casual, but knowledgeable staff. Their food is clean, crisp, fresh, and inventive. Their creation of a Gilroy Roll is about the best thing I have ever eaten. If you really want an experience, try it with soy paper instead of Nori. What I really love about this place is a menu that is varied, and inclusive of additional asian flavors including Thai and Vietnamese. I like that the menu changes and reflects seasonal, local produce, which is a great example of sustainability for local purveyors and producers. There is a sense of respect for things local and quality over profit that is what really makes a successful business. They are doing such a great business here, and they really have added such a great nuance to an already emergent downtown cuisine scene in Chico that is worth it's weight.
