The Raw Bar has very good sushi. A large variety on the menu. The fish is fresh. The location is central and the view is spectacular!
This is a definite spot on a hit list of great restaurants in the North State! I would even go so far as to say that it is worth a trip from San Francisco to experience. I have eaten sushi at some of the best rated restaurants in Manhattan, Boston, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and San Diego, and this place is one of the absolute best. The management of this establishment has a lot of experience, and it shows with their streamlined, sleek digs, and their casual, but knowledgeable staff. Their food is clean, crisp, fresh, and inventive. Their creation of a Gilroy Roll is about the best thing I have ever eaten. If you really want an experience, try it with soy paper instead of Nori. What I really love about this place is a menu that is varied, and inclusive of additional asian flavors including Thai and Vietnamese. I like that the menu changes and reflects seasonal, local produce, which is a great example of sustainability for local purveyors and producers. There is a sense of respect for things local and quality over profit that is what really makes a successful business. They are doing such a great business here, and they really have added such a great nuance to an already emergent downtown cuisine scene in Chico that is worth it's weight. Check it out, you will not be disappointed!
We have been here a few times. I really am not a fan of sushi but my husband loves it. This is a nice place to compromise at. I love their terrakyi bowl and my husband can get his fill of sushi and we don't have to drive all over town. Its a nice little resturant located right downtown so its great to stop here grab a bite and then head off to the bars or some window shopping.
