Jon'Ric International Salon & Spa

I am so shocked to see even 1 bad review about Jon' Ric. I have been going there and having my hair done for almost 2 yrs now. My stylist is great. The ambience is wonderful. I don't know of many salons that call you and/or email you to remind you of your appt. "You" alone are responsible for remembering your appt. I do not know of many hair salons that offer you a cold bottle of water to drink while you're there. I've even been there on some days when they offer doughnuts, snack cakes, or some sort of bread and dip. I've never been to aa hair salon that catored to their clientele in such a wonderful way. Most salons may have soda or snack machines for you to purchase items, but never complimentary. Clients and employees may enjoy themselves talking to one another, but I personally have never found Jon' Rics to be so loud that I felt uncomfortable or was unable to relax while I was there. I have actually called for an appt and could not get one because my stylist was booked, so I came in and stayed for hrs until my stylist could fit me in. I enjoyed myself while there. Everyone is very sociable and friendly. I have also had times where I my stylist was out of town and I went into the salon and had my hair done by one of the other stylists. So, as I said before I cannot understand why that salon would ever recieve an unfavorable review. Are these people sure they went to Jon'Ric Alexandria? Maybe it was one of the other salons in the area and they are confused.

I have to say that I went into this salon hoping it would be good because it was near my home, seemed like it was big enough to accommodate flexible schedules and last minute appointments, good name, etc. I dropped in mid to late afternoon. Even though only one customer there, I honestly got the impression I was troubling them by coming in for service. The receptionist was on the phone and did not acknowledge my presence. When she did, she was unpleasant, and seemed reluctant to set me up with a technician. I was given to a woman who apparently was not well liked by the others because they kept talking about her "behind her back" (right in front of her). It was very uncomfortable. They also came up to me--the customer--and complained about and questioned her work. I felt terrible for the girl who did my hair, so tried to ignore it. I was charged for a service I did not get -- the one they were arguing about,and I did not want to put her through more trouble. I raised it with the receptionist and she looked at me like I had two heads, so I just paid and got out of there, knowing I would not go back. Awful experience. I was going to call the management, but honestly, did not think it would help, and I never wanted to go back in there, so just let it go. By the name, you would expect a high end salon & spa when walking into this Slaters Lane, Alexandria establishment; but what you get is something less than expected. I had high hopes for this salon, but was left disappointed. After calling weeks in advance to schedule an appointment for a manicure/pedicure, I arrive to the spa to find out that they were understaffed and there would be a 30 minute wait. Mind you, once I walked in I wasn't immediately notified of this considering I wasn't greeted because the person behind the desk was on a personal phone call for a lengthy period of time. Once I was having a pedicure, although the technician did a good job and was a pleasant person, it was a very slow process and the person could have been more attentive. She was kind of fluttering all over the place, while I just sat there. It took close to 90 minutes for my pedicure to be finished and it wasn't because I was relaxing for a period of time.By the time I got my nails done, it was over 2.5 hours just for two services. That is a long time, nor does it include the 30 minutes I waited in the beginning. I thought the manager should have said something or offered some kind of discount or incentive since they were there and aware. The music was also too loud and was more suitable for a upbeat salon, but since this is also considered a spa, the music wasn't appropriate. All in all, I won't be coming back, nor will I be recommending to my friends.

The spa pedicure was relaxing and invigorating. They are not a hurry up and get you out of the chair spa. They take their time and make the experience worth it. the leg wrap and scrub are great.

The acrylic fill was done with precise detail and was the first time in a long time I did not leave a salon with cut cuticles.

I would recommend this salon/spa to everyone.

I loved it! It held a certain ambiance which I felt when I walked in the door. The staff was very professional. I had the swedish massage which left my body feeling great all day. I would definitely recommend this salon. And, I will definitely be returning

This place is ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS! The ambiance and the decor are very relaxing and inviting. The prices are more than reasonable, I am a true believer you get what you pay for, the professionalism and the relaxing atmosphere made my experience at Jon'Ric...PRICELESS!!

So I went into Jon'Ric for my first massage. It was a very pleasurable experience. The salon seems well kept and the staff was very friendly and courteous. I would definitely go back.

I have been going to Jon'Ric International Salon & Spa to get my haircut since it first opened and haven't stopped going since. They have a great atmosphere and a good location. The prices are very reasonable and the barber's and stylists are very good and knowledgeable at what they do. I am never delayed when I make an appointment. They specialize in facials, manicure's, pedicure's, and haircuts. They always have good deals and have different packages for all occasions(prom, wedding, Christmas,v-day and etc.) I would recommend Jon'Ric to anyone who is looking for reliable and great service and prices. Jon'Ric Salon & Spa is the place to go.

Knowing the business, I give this place 2 thumbs up. I'm a salon/spa owner and I like to get out and see what the market has to offer. I also like to enjoy myself outside of my personal beauty location which I see almost everyday. I've been to quite a few salon/spas. I must say that this ranks among the top. I know how hard a day can be in a salon from managing staff to keeping customers happy. This place works really hard to accomodate everyone. The staff really cares for the client, they all seem to have a passion for the industry and what they do. Very trendy place, well cared for, nice ambiance, good choice of colors, set-up for men and women with a perfect impersonal separation. The majority will love this place. I watched several color treatments and I am SERIOUSLY going to implement the techniques they use in my own salon!

When I scheduled my appointment all I could hear in the background is loud music and loud talking, this should have been a sign that my facial was not going to go well. When I meet the tech I should have also listened to the thoughts going through my head, because her skin didn't even look good so how could she help me. Well she started and I couldn't even relax because all I could here was the loud music playing throughout the salon and loud people talking. I am a very loud person myself, but when I want to relax I need silence and I didn't get that at Jon'Ric. Also it appears when they built this salon the spa was an after thought because only a curtain separates the spa from the salon. Oh by the way the facial was just average, if it was a better facial I might have been able to over look everything else. Bottom Line: This place is too loud for relaxation.

Debra- all I have to say!!! I am so incredibly pleased with my haircut. I have gone to several different hair salons, but with no luck finding an individual who would cut/color the way I want, or even close for that matter. I was so impressed with the way Debra had cut my sister's hair (the color is beautiful too) that I made the appointment two days later. It has been about two weeks now and everyday I wake up I look forward to the way I will be styling my hair that day. Debra took her time to help me find the perfect colors (I am extremely picky) and I cannot thank her ENOUGH for her fabulous sense of style, WHAT A TALENT!!! I found my permanent hair dresser, and I am so excited and relieved!Thankyou Debra, keep up the amazing work!!!!

I always have very pleasurable experiences at Jon'Ric. The salon is very clean and there is always time for me to get an appointment, even if it is last minute. The staff is also very friendly. Jon"Ric International Salon & Spa has something for everybody, from a busy mom who needs a make-over or a massage to a single guy that just needs a haircut. I would recommend Jon'Ric to anybody looking for a first-class experience in customer service.

This was the first time I went to get a haircut at another place other than the traditional corner barber shop. I was very impressed when I entered Jon Ric and I cannot wait to return for another hair cut. I highly recommend Jon Ric to anybody that wants a professional, stylish, and excellent hair cut.

I just moved to Alexandria and needed to find a new day spa. I read all the fantastic reviews of Jon'Ric and decided to give them a try. I booked an appointment online with stylist #1 for 12 noon on a Saturday. I came in 15-20 minutes early since this was my first visit and usually there are some papers to fill out. The receptionist, a young-looking black lady, who was not identifiable as an employee in any way, was on the phone the whole time I checked in. I told her I had a 12:00 with stylist #1 and even gave her my confirmation sheet. Then I sat down to wait. And wait. And wait. At about 12:20 stylist #2 comes out, introduces herself to me. I say, "uh, I had an appointment with stylist #1" so she takes off and goes in the back. About another 10 minutes go by, and original receptionist comes out to tell me that stylist #1 called in sick and would I be okay with stylist #2, or I could come back another time. I said thanks but no thanks and walked out after wasting about 40 minutes in the salon. I was not impressed. It also appeared to me that the salon specializes in black women and men, including extensions etc. If the salon is targeting a certain clientele they should be upfront about it in their ads.

Jon'Ric is one of the most well rounded salons I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. They have everything from manicures, to hair, to massages and at a reasonable cost. Everyone from the secretary to the stylist were freindly from the time I waked on until the time I walked out. I would recommend Jon'Ric to anyone in a heartbeat.

I was very pleased with the location and the facility. The staff is very friendly and professional. You just automatically get this warm and comfortable feeling. The prices are very competitive...you get what you pay for that's what I like about it....

The ambience of this place is very appealing AND my hair looks fabulous! Honestly, I've never had my hair cut in such great detail. Plus, my hair color looks vibrant two weeks later! I'm very particular about salons and even more anal about my hair. I highly recommend this place. I promise that you will love it. Just go! They have my vote.

I like to sneak out during my lunch break to enjoy "personal services". Just recently, I went to Jon'Ric of Alexandria for the first time. It is close to my home office in Alexandria, VA. I travel alot so I always carry my laptop with me. It's not often I get to use it when I'm being pampered EXCEPT at Jon'Ric. I got a VERY NICE hair cut that complimented my face, great highlights AND I was able to get some work done. I was connected to my office via the internet and able to do work while my color was processing. This is just an added bonus for me because I travel ALOT and need my computer EVERYWHERE I go. Oh, I forgot to mention...the connection is FREE. It's like being at Panara Bread except I look gorgeous when I leave.

Jon'Ric is a fabulous salon and spa that offers first class service to everyone that walks through the salon's doors. The salon set up is very appealing and the staff is very pleasant. I love this place. It's the only beauty spot in Old Town Alexandria with FREE Parking. I can park free, get a great color and enjoy a soothing scalp massage in their reclining shampoo chairs. It's worth every penny. I look fantastic.
