I was assaulted here by the owner  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

I took an old rug/blanket there last month that needed a wash. They sucked me dry by taking it to a 'specialty rug cleaner', as if it was a Persian rug, therefore charging me 65 plus tax, instead of the regular wash price. I came to pick it up several weeks later (it took them two weeks to clean it), and when I got home I realized it smelled stale and worse than when I brought it in. I came in and politely asked for my money back, at which point the owner flipped out and told me that "nobody gives free service in NY".

I stood there while he yelled at me between customers that I was crazy for half an hour. At one point he grabbed the ticket/receipt that was on the wrapper it came in (which I brought in) and stuck it behind the counter. I grabbed it back, at which point he grabbed my wrists hard and tried to wrestle it out of my hands. He was yelling that it was the store's ticket and I can't take it backm even though it was my receipt. I was afraid he was going to take away proof that I paid that much. At this point I started crying and he took the rug and threatened to throw it out of the store.

I left with $10 and a smelly rug.

I am in the process of filing a police report. It's cheap service, but when they ruin something of yours, they will NEVER, EVER, admit fault. They blame it on the place they send it to.

Go across the street. It's more expensive, but worth it.

TAKE YOUR DRY CLEANING ELSEWHERE!  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

We have been using them for a few months and recently I had a dispute with them when they wouldn't take responsibility for a very expensive shirt that they ruined. It was a men's shirt and it came back with discoloration (directly on the color and all over the shoulder) that looked like bleach stains. When I complained, they said that I took it in like that and said that it was because "somebody must have used cheap cologne" on it. What a great way to lose customers. I didn't get a penny from this incident and am looking at ways to make sure that other people don't have the same experience.

Butchers  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

I used them for about 3 months. A few weeks ago, i noticed that a dress shirt I sent them to dry clean was returned discolored and shrunken. I later found out that they had shrunk other dress shirts of mine that were supposedly "dry cleaned." I think they simply washed them and ironed them, charging me for dry cleaning.

All of my complaints were not answered. They told me this has never happened before. Well, it happened multiple times to me. I am so upset i am currently considering taking them to court. This was not just an isolated incident.

okay for cleaning, questionable for stain removal  3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

I took a lab coat to the newly opened Discount French Dry Cleaners for some dry cleaning. It had CIDEX OPA Solution (heavy duty disinfectant) stains which are hard, but not impossible, to remove. I pointed all the stains out to the person behind the counter who placed "stain" stickers in those spots and assured me that they would be removed. Clothing that is dropped off for dry cleaning is not cleaned in house, as is typical for most New York City dry cleaning stores. So my lab coat was shipped out for cleaning. I went to retrieve my coat 2-3 days later and was disappointed to find that the stains were still there. When I questioned the person working there about the stains, he just told me to try to machine wash the coat. I ended up handwashing the lab coat with a variety of stain busters and the stains finally came out with Clorox bleach.

PROS: new store discount
CONS: did not remove my Cidex stains despite assurances
