3 Stars: Expensive, loud, and only so-so food (by N R.)

While waiting for friends, I ordered a great white wine based on the bar tender's recommendation, the Vinho Verde (Portugal). Light and crisp.

The restaurant is new, hip, and cool but oh so loud. I couldn't hear the person across from me and I could only hear the person next to me if she were looking my way. Not a great place to go to converse.

The restaurant recommends sharing 2-3 dishes person because the dishes are small. Personally, I think they are too small for the prices they charge. On average, if you order 6 dishes between 2 folks, it will about $30/person (avg. dish is $10 or more) without alcohol. There were 4 of us and we ordered 9 dishes total including dessert. With alcohol, I would guess that this came out to be about $35-$40 per person. Kind of lot considering I was still hungry.

The food is tasty but served in small quantities. My food recommendations include: tuna crudo, seared watermelon salad, bloomed pacific scallops (you only get 3 scallops though and at $14, it's kind of a lot!), herb fries, and 'coffee and toast' for dessert. Avoid the stawberry puree.

I've been told the braised short ribs and sourdough crusted skate are must tries.

For such a great looking restaurant, I was disappointed by the quantity and quality of food.
