are little black kids still allowed in there? we all still remember that racial scandal they had there some yrs back when black kids from Coney Island or other surrounding neighborhoods werent allowed in or just treated unfairly when they were in. we still rememer now, dont we? I believe there wasa class action law suit as well that Bly lost. I for one as a black man will never bring my child there. You guys can have it!!!

Who is this "You guys"? You have every right not to bring your child somewhere but there's no need to be a racist yourself about it. I am Puerto Rican and went there as a child and never had any problems at all. I brought my kids there last year and it was fine. A little run down but what do people expect? It is what it is.

I went here last year (2011) with my 4 year old son and im sad to see it is opening again because i will NEVER go here again, the park is dirty the bathroom (ladies room) smells so horrid the paint is chipping and there were no paper towls, the parking lot isnt paved and is full of holes and bumps and its narrow and difficult to navigate on crowded nights. Aside from the amenities the park itself was a dissapointment, the POP is decent if your child is tall enough to ride everything if not you wasted your money because tickets are just a waste 10 tickets which is 10 rides is 25$ and each ride is shorter than the one before it, the ride operators are rude and make it obvious they dont want to be there, the mangement is even worse than the staff, they were unappologetic and sarcastic when i asked why my son who had previously ridden the bumper cars now could not do so, they change the rules constantly and it is NOT worth the money for another 20$ save your money and take your kids to great adventure or to another kiddie park, this one is just disgusting.

I was there two weeks with my granddaughter and we went on the bumper cars. We loved it so much we wanted to go on it again so it was one ticket each. It's 2 tickets for the first time going on it. I went again this weekend. it was a beautiful day for it. We went on the bumpers cars again we wanted to go again but this time the guy said it's 2 tickets each. Why? It's still October. So we didn't. I was a little disppointed about that one week you give one ticket to go on the ride again and another week it's 2. and also the guy said they don't do that anymore. Tickets don't come cheap. I feel there are a little pricey. Especially for those family that have two or three littles. Maybe I'll go back not sure. Thank you

I was at the park about a week ago and had a horrible experience. I spent 25.00 on tickets for my 20 month old son and only used 3 tickets. My son loves cars and trains. So we were very excited to see that they had a train ride that I am guessing goes around the park. As we waited for the next train (the train had just pulled out), we figured we would go on the cars that were right next the train. As we were standing there a car pulled up with a boy who was about 9 years old. There was nobody from the park there to let this kid off the ride so the father tried to push the car up with his foot so his son could get out. So, we continued to wait for a staff person to show up so that my son and his grandmother could go on the ride. So we waited for a while and saw the train coming. We turned to look at the train and a guy jumped out screaming and cursing, slamming the gate and taking off. My son was startled and grabbed on to me for life. As it turns out this was one of the workers who operated the train. He flipped out and left all the people on the train. I turned to my mother and said let??s get out of here. As we were leaving we heard that all this transpired because one of his co workers (the one who was probably supposed to be manning the car ride) threw a water balloon at the train. So I went to find a manger to get my money back for the rest of the tickets that I did not use. As it turns out the manager was by the train. I explained to her that i did not want anything but my money back. I did not want any type of park compensation. She told me that I had to call the number on the banner at the entrance to the park. She told me she was not able to do this I had to call their main office. Wow manager of the whole park and she doesn??t have the authority to give a refund! Well it gets better. As soon as I got home I called the number. Surprise, I just called the park itself, no office. And to boot, I believe the person on the other end of the line was the same manager that I spoke to inside the park! The person on the other end told me that I had to call during the week. Now my question: HOW CAN YOU LEAVE A YOUNG 20 SOMETHING IN CHARGE OF A BUNCH OF TEENAGERS WITH NO SUPERVISION AND NO AUTHORITY? what would have happened if there was an accident on a ride, or if the guy who got so upset pulled out a gun or something. I mean if he flipped out over a water balloon being thrown at the train what does that say about his mental state? I don??t want my son anywhere near him. Next time I go to an amusement park, I am going to one run by adults and that if they have an irate employee, they have someone to escort him off the premises and not just let him wonder around the park.

Jodi, I am appaled to hear about your experience, typically this is not something that happens on an everyday basis. I would like to inform you that our manager is actually a man which upsets me that you spoke to a young woman claiming to be a manager and that she was not professional in helping you. We have since re-staffed for our upcoming season and can assure you something like this would not happen again. I would love to welcome you back as my personal guest for you and your family. Please be assured that Adventurer's is run by adults but many teenagers are employed to run the rides. Please contact Gracie or Mark in the main office- Mon-Friday anywhere from 9-5pm. Thanks, hope we can make this up to you.

I must say ,I am not a person that likes changes.I always enjoyed Nellie Bly as a child and I couldn't wait to take my children there. When the name changed ,I felt like something was lost.I loved Nellie Bly and its name. But after going to Adventurers,I must say that the changes that have happened here are for the better. The new rides, food concessions, and the clean bathrooms all make this a wonderful place to spend time with the family. My kids love it there and I love seeing the smiles on their faces as they go from ride to ride!

This park has always been a lot of fun. It's been around for ages and I can remember going there as a child. The rides are the same, with a few adjustments, and the feel of being at an amusement park can bring you back in time. Have fun!

Nellie Bly Amusement Park, in business at its present location off exit 6 of the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn, was closed for months for renovations. They said they would be back bigger and better than ever, and they have finally reopened although the renovations are not totally completed.

Kids have been going to the rides and entertainment at Nellie Bly for years, and most kids and parents are very happy to see them back in business.

They feature many different kinds of rides for kids, water rides for young kids, a kids roller coaster,merry-go-round, and many, many more. They have food and snacks, stuff to buy, and the kids love it. They used to have a one price admission ticket, and although that is not in effect right now, they say that they will reinstate this policy very soon.

The park is open daily from 1-10 p.m. and is a park that parents feel safe taking their young children to. The kids love the rides, and they are fun and safe. When totally operational, they are also a fun place for children's parties, camp groups, etc.

PROS: A kids amusement park reopened at last.
CONS: Still undergoing renovations at present.
